Contains all CT races - including the recently finished USPCC, although of course this does not count for the July standings. Thanks to Roman and The Rider for helping with the stage race rankings files for these races.
July was all about stage races for CT teams with the C2HC double header of Pologne for the puncheurs, and La Tropicale for the sprinters. Later in the month East Java served the climbers, while Slovenie suited the TT all-rounders.
Fablok - Dunlop stood out, as they were able to win both La Tropicale and East Java. Novatek pushed them close though, buoyed on by a superb team performance at La Tropicale.
Delaval, Actavies, Chiquita and Compal had good-scoring months, but it was Netia and Generali who took the other overall race victories.
July:
1 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 418 | 2 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 415 | 3 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 249 | 4 | | Actavis - DKSH | 208 | 5 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 202 |
So remember last month when Strava seemed to be running away with things? Well Novatek's great month has taken them into the lead, and the addition of USPCC sees Compal also go above Strava. Competition at the top of the table is really hotting up! Fablok and Indosat are not far behind, completing the Top 5.
With PT squad Venchi set to disband at the end of the season though, we know that 6 teams will certainly promote from CT. The 6th team past 1000 points is Delaval, and they currently hold that final position. Generali, In-n-out and Netia leading the chase, and Alpina rounding out the Top 10.
While the Top 10 had a position shuffling, and Sancor remain 11th, there is some bigger position changes behind - both Actavis and Chiquita jumping up 5 places. Akzonobel have the biggest drop, down 3. Type 1 remain bottom, but had a better July than all 3 of the teams above them, Fred Whitton, Fox and Elta.
1 | 2 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 1328 | 2 | 3 | | Compal-Merida | 1306 | 3 | 1 | | Strava | 1236 | 4 | 6 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 1220 | 5 | 4 | | Indosat - ANZ | 1215 | 6 | 10 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 1046 | 7 | 5 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 986 | 8 | 7 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 983 | 9 | 8 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 938 | 10 | 9 | | Alpina - Avianca | 827 | 11 | 11 | | SanCor Cycling Team | 824 | 12 | 17 | | Actavis - DKSH | 819 | 13 | 13 | | Severstal-Mercator | 788 | 14 | 12 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 777 | 15 | 14 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 732 | 16 | 21 | | Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions | 629 | 17 | 15 | | Verkefnid Iceland | 618 | 18 | 18 | | Gatorade - SIS | 617 | 19 | 16 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 572 | 20 | 19 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 516 | 21 | 20 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 495 | 22 | 23 | | Sodexo ProCycling | 397 | 23 | 25 | | Fred Whitton Race Team | 339 | 24 | 22 | | Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling | 330 | 25 | 24 | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 312 | 26 | 26 | | Team Type 1 | 227 |
120 is the total amount of race days for each team this season, and many teams are now over the 100 mark. These projections are going to be increasingly accurate then.
Novatek now have the best PpRD over Strava. Compal have raced the most of the leading teams so could slip down a little, Delaval are at the other end of the scale - there hopes of actually making the Top 5 will rest on the Tour of America though. Generali have raced the leads of CT teams not heading to the C1 Grand Tour.
Chiquita are another off to America, and are about the only team to go up places in the projections for the rest of the table.
| | | Team | Total | RD | PpRD | Proj | 1 | 1 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 1328 | 96 | 13.83 | 1936 | 2 | 3 | | Strava | 1236 | 94 | 13.15 | 1841 | 3 | 4 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 1220 | 94 | 12.98 | 1817 | 4 | 2 | | Compal-Merida | 1306 | 104 | 12.56 | 1758 | 5 | 6 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 1046 | 85 | 12.31 | 1723 | 6 | 5 | | Indosat - ANZ | 1215 | 104 | 11.68 | 1635 | 7 | 7 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 986 | 93 | 10.60 | 1484 | 8 | 8 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 983 | 94 | 10.46 | 1464 | 9 | 9 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 938 | 102 | 9.20 | 1288 | 10 | 10 | | Alpina - Avianca | 827 | 97 | 8.53 | 1194 | 11 | 11 | | SanCor Cycling Team | 824 | 100 | 8.24 | 1154 | 12 | 12 | | Actavis - DKSH | 819 | 100 | 8.19 | 1147 | 13 | 13 | | Severstal-Mercator | 788 | 99 | 7.96 | 1114 | 14 | 16 | | Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions | 629 | 81 | 7.77 | 1088 | 15 | 14 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 777 | 106 | 7.33 | 1026 | 16 | 15 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 732 | 101 | 7.25 | 1015 | 17 | 17 | | Verkefnid Iceland | 618 | 101 | 6.12 | 857 | 18 | 18 | | Gatorade - SIS | 617 | 101 | 6.11 | 855 | 19 | 20 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 516 | 95 | 5.43 | 760 | 20 | 19 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 572 | 108 | 5.30 | 742 | 21 | 21 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 495 | 100 | 4.95 | 693 | 22 | 22 | | Sodexo ProCycling | 397 | 96 | 4.14 | 580 | 23 | 23 | | Fred Whitton Race Team | 339 | 99 | 3.42 | 479 | 24 | 25 | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 312 | 94 | 3.32 | 465 | 25 | 24 | | Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling | 330 | 101 | 3.27 | 458 | 26 | 26 | | Team Type 1 | 227 | 84 | 2.70 | 378 |
The individual standings remain a sprinter's paradise as Lavoine extended his lead after winning La Tropicale. Can the 75k free agents now be stopped? Serebriakov ran him close in Gabon and is up to 2nd. Matthews overakes De Maar to make it 4 sprinters in the Top 5.
Novak's USPCC win puts him into the Top 10. Vastaranta and Atapuma are also up to the Top 10 - despite the latter's surprising tendency for teamwork rather than leadership. Kuboki and Zeits both jumped into the Top 20, while Rolland comes close.
We are up to 359 points scorers, out of a CT rider total of 463.

On par with what I expected for us, less than I hoped though...
Yeah USAPCC was a big kick in the balls for us, we've been lucky to have a very, very fortunate Slovenie to - almost - make up for that much loss.
To be fair I hoped Fablok and Novatek wouldn't score THAT much but I had to expect that, I think I kind of forgot that Tropicale and Java weren't in June
We'll need to win Faso and score strongly somewhere else to have some decent hopes of overtaking our direct opponents, but luckily all the teams can be reached with a strong Sep-Oct bimester.
Thanks for the heads up SN

Bad months for us again, we are in limbo cycles like some unstable free market, from unknown heigts to deep down sorrow.
Really would love to win the rankings more than anything in the MG but Novatek and Compal are just way too good on their terrain for us to get away with it. Boys will be fighting good till the end, thankfully some proper races are coming up next. Need some big points soon again.

Good to see the team continue the climb up the rankings despite Anacona riding like he didn't get payed.

This is very encouraging news for Compal-Merida and this summer have been uplifting for everyone assosiated with the team.
We still hope to walk away with the overall victory, but with having already raced 10 racedays more than Novatek and still being behind them, we realize that will be a tough task. But still we're satisfied with our current placement.
Thank you very much for this update SN! |

It was only a matter of time before our season became useless. De Maar had a chance to move up after his stage win but blew it for no reason. Now he's gone from the individual rankings too. Let's just finish out this season.

Dang, I thought we'd move up a bit higher after Novak's win,
that said, we are still really close to that promotion spot, and at worst if we dont get it, we'll gear up and kick everyone's butts next year |

We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up!
If Tour of America turns out to be another succes like last year, the top 10 might still be in reach!
Thanks SN for the overview!

Still picking up momentum after our quiet mid season, hopefully we can finish strong and keep within the top 5.

Awesome to be in the lead. Great month for us rewarded, with a bit of luck involved (okay, quite a bit). Not many non-suiting races left for us, so hopefully we can keep this lead towards the end of the season. I would not have expected that at the beginning of the season.

Not sure how activity is doing in PT and PCT but perhaps top eight having chances of promotion you would say?
Novatel are surprising me really. I think sprinters have been better value than I thought they would be. This was my pre season predo...
Still it is very tight so all to play for as we appraoch seasons end!

Sprinters' paradise in CT this season, that is for sure.
Based on this update I can't see any team in the top 6 dropping below 6th place. However, Generali could get in there with that Herald Sun Tour coming up.
Equally I can't see any team in the top 3 dropping below 3rd. Compal-Merida making it really difficult but I think they might edge it: though my heart says either of the other two for a dramatic title win! So, like last season, three teams in the title hunt now!
Down the bottom, in the quest to avoid the bottom five places, Sodexo are putting up a battle, do they dare catch Belarus?! |

Thanks for that SN.
We''really only 110 points out of 6th, we've got to hope for a perfect rest of season or a lucky win in a C1 race.

I dunno what I am going to do with this team after this season, I may take sometime out of the game and apply again in the future. I have been apart of this amazing game for 4 years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. But this team doing so bad is draining my enthusiasm abit. I will take sometime to think about it and post in my team HQ towards the end of the season. I just don't know how I can turn the teams fortunes around.
