Nelspruit Classic
The 202km HC rated Nelspruit Classic will have a short run up before entering a circuit which the riders will go around six times. Each lap is ended by a sharp five kilometer climb which reaches gradients of around 11%. This will suit both the puncheurs and the climbers, but acceleration will be key.
Favourites Name | Hill | Mou | Acc | Di Maggio | 82 | 65 | 75 | McCarthy | 81 | 67 | 74 | Kelderman | 80 | 71 | 72 | Dowsett | 80 | 65 | 71 | van der Hugenhaben | 80 | 77 | 66 | Klemme | 80 | 74 | 66 | Monfort | 79 | 72 | 75 | Sanchez Gil | 79 | 77 | 75 | Ben Nasser | 79 | 69 | 77 | Levarlet | 79 | 74 | 68 | Efimkin | 78 | 71 | 57 | Bellis | 78 | 68 | 75 | Landa | 78 | 69 | 69 | Boswell | 78 | 70 | 74 | Mehr-Wenige | 78 | 66 | 67 |
It is hard to look past defending champion Di Maggio, with his high acceleration and great hill ability he seems to be the big favorite. McCarthy is the second biggest contender for the race, he too boasts high acceleration which will be the key in the race. The race will most likely end with a sprint or a long ranged attack.

Let's see if we can finally win a race this season. Prevar and Efimkin are both outsiders on a course like this, where Prevar could do well in a sprint, and Efimkin would most likely need a break from like 5 to 10 kms out. Support is decent, nothing more, Silin and Topchanyuk are both fairly strong. Suparman for the early break too?

Awesome team by me here. Not even Villella or Boom as best puncheurs.
So Thurau/Bazzana. Show something please. |

Bellis should be suited by the length though if there is any bias towards MO that will hurt his chances hoping for a couple of points from the domestiques too such as Mandri or Armee. |

Having seen what Kadri achieved in the Ardennes, I'd hope a top 15 is possible here. Obviously it all depends on how the race shakes out though.
Anyone know the MO/HIL ratio? |

Hoping that Juul-Jensen can deliver like he did in Czech, and an offensive display from our guys.
Who can stop LLS is the big question here..

Top 5 goal for us, really need Ben Nasser to deliver. Anything else will be a disappointment. |

Also a Top 5 goal here, since I felt like giving Dowsett a goal. Was a choice between Top 5 here and Top 5 at Bayern Rundfahrt. Bibby ended up getting 2nd there, so no pressure Alex!

Would love to see Di Maggio in a classic the first time this season. He has shown improved shape in the Czech Republic race and we always did a good job in Africa as a team. Stage is set for something to celebrate.

Come on Wilco. More Strade, less Czech Republic. You don't have to win, but just don't fail either.

I hope nobody as this is my next sponsor goal. And of course it is a win goal once again. After achieving the Czech one and narrowly missing the Bayern one LLS has the chance to go 2/3.
Undefeated In His last three starts I expect at least a podium from him.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Hopefully Hoogerland/Hermans/Reimer can bring some points out of this. |

A break would be nice. Preferably with Landa in it
Otherwise I expect a top 15-finish. LLS to win again in a sprint between the top puncheurs.

No Zardini so I've got to hope for a break.

AMEX-Navigon has no podium threats but we hope to have 3 or 4 riders in the points and 1 in the top 15.

Go Maxime! Top 5 would be awesome.
Also hope to have some other guys finish in the points. Pozzato, Furdi and Hofland definitely have the ability to easily do so. They'll probably go into zombie peloton mode though.

What was that? Ben Nasser 4 mins down on the winners? Did he crash jihardy or just sit up?
Don't understand why he didn't participate with the rest of the favourites. So frustrating for this to happen in a goal race. |

Not the greatest of results, but decent enough. Nice to see Juul-Jensen put in a good attack, a pity that it was way to soon and that no one went with him.
A couple of very strange results, with Ben Nasser and LLS far, far off the pace.
Thanks for the report, jihardy.

Not the most accurate prediction I have made about LLS.
Landa 15th, seems about right with his current season form..
Decent report, but would be nice to have some information of what some of the top riders were doing to get so far behind (LLS.. etc.).
