Lincoln GP
This C2 event goes into it's fourth edition. The hilly cobbled classic through Lincoln had Pieter Vanspeybrouck (2012) as it's first ever winner, while mid-race attacks proved to be crucial in the past two years: Christopher Stevenson (2013) and Aleksei Saramotins (2014) as the winners then.
A short loop through Lincoln, featuring a cobbled climb - which is also the finish then. Cobblers with a strong kick on short climbs should be rated the favorites here..
The Startlist
The Favorites Rider | HI | COB | | Rider | HI | COB | Langeveld | 72 | 76 | | Bakari | 54 | 81 | Joseph | 66 | 76 | | De Vocht | 57 | 77 | De Maar | 74 | 73 | | Lindeman | 64 | 76 | Selvaggi | 73 | 73 | | De Backer | 64 | 75 | Brynjolfsson | 68 | 73 | | Wynants | 64 | 75 | Aulas | 67 | 73 | | Turgot | 63 | 75 | Verhelst | 70 | 70 | | Østergaard | 63 | 75 | Pfingsten | 72 | 67 | | Field | 65 | 74 | Tulik | 72 | 67 | | Takenouchi | 64 | 74 | Hardy | 73 | 66 | | Paiani | 66 | 73 | Einsle | 74 | 65 | | Steegmans | 66 | 73 | Wengelin | 71 | 63 | | Blot | 66 | 73 | Handley | 73 | 62 | | Lee | 65 | 73 |
..and so we should have one obvious top-favorite with Langeveld. Also De Maar or Selvaggi should be amongst the most promising contenders. Strava certainly with a strong squad, as also Tulik (remember GP Kigali?) already proved to do well on a similar (rated) profile.
Joseph maybe as the most promising non-puncheur then. Speaking of those: Bakari tops the list of cobblers, who fear climbs. By far the best cobbler here, the African surely faces some tough times up the climb. Same goes for De Vocht or other solid cobblers like Lindeman.
The startlist lacks great allrounders, so it will be interesting to see, whether those pure cobblers or some "pure" puncheurs do better then.

Turgot leads but have a feeling that his Hill stat might rule him out of contention. Top 10 would be nice
Nice preview tsmoha

Who said cobblez season is over? Nice race for us and I expect a good performance from our boys. Depending on how GP Herning pans out, I may have to lower or raise my expectations. We'll see.
Then again, 5 Strava riders in listed Favourites. Please gimma win boys.

we brought a pretty all-around team for this race so hopefully it can amount to something
Momentum seem to be on our side after Paiani's 3rd at the GP Herning, hopefully it continues here! |

This race suits De maar very well. Hoping for a repeat of the success of Bosberg earlier in the year with him and Ostergaard.

Huge fail by Ostergaard here, dropping from the group and ending up 7 minutes behind them just from cracking, all with not too much left in the race. That's not what I need or expect from him.
But a great ride from De Maar. He's very well suited to these races, and he's showing it. But he never can ride with Langeveld. Both times he's jumped after him and both times he's slowly fallen away. One day I'd like to see him counter off the bat and see what happens.

Wow Strava. I guess that this is how PCM compensates the bad results of Herning I guess! Congrats Shonak
