Milano - Torino
While the first 180 km looks pretty boring the finale of this race is brutal.
Previous winners:
2013: Aleksandar Flügel (VolksWagen-Mapei)
2012: Massimo Iannetti (Pirelli - Alfa Romeo)
2011: Riccardo Ricco (Bacardi - Colt)
2010: Mikhail Ignatiev (100% ME)
2008: Fortunato Baliani (Ceramica Panaria - Navigare)
Full startlist:
The race is usually decided in a small sprint among the top punchers who in this edition counts names such as these, who are counted as favourites by the organizers:
Of these Froome takes some extra attention due to his second place last year.
Spoiler I promise that the report is better than the preview. Just don't think there's a lot of new things to say at this point in the season...

We've won both this race & Emillia in our first stay in the CT with Ricco. It would be nice if Ulissi could repeat atleast one of those victories. The finish looks pretty hard though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the quick fix, Atlantius! No need to apologize
No huge expactations again. Somehow thought Bennett may be a rider to try here, but i'm not too sure anymore Won't matter too much though, as neither him nor Jiao will be special i guess. A solid team pperformance would be nice then.

I'd like a top 10, but Gautier has been crap as of late. |

One of three remaining goals! Top 5 is a must here. Looks like a very tough startlist, but I hope being on Italian ground can help Di Maggio pull it off anyway.

Give me the Top 10 the favourite list predicts, please.
Also dear Mario Vogt, I pay you to race, not to ride!
It'll be crucial to be in the right wave of attacks here. If the MO stat plays a tiny role too (and judging by the results so far this season), I go with Froome.

To be fair to Vogt, you don't exactly pay him a lot!

Oh believe me, I'd love to pay him as much as the average 77 puncheur makes if he got the results of the average 77 puncheur.

That's exactly what Vince Carter heard when he tried to sign his first post-Toronto contract... |

I hope MO/HIL ratio is enough that, Gerdemann may have something to say in this race which is the penultimate race of the season

Milano - Torino and Emilia are races we added to our schedule for two reasons. First of all it was a necessity this season to go at least C1 if you wanna compete in beautiful Italia; which is a very important country for both: our partners and supporters. Secondly These races are choosen in appreciation of Matteo Montaguti and the veterans services in the Vontobel premier season.
Every ranking point coming from the Italian races is welcome, the expectations though are much higher for Yekaterinburg and Züri.

No idea what to expect with those 2 climbs at the end. We could use top 10 points but I suspect those steep climbs will be our undoing.

I don't know the ratio MO/HI but this race should be one of the best suited for Betancourt. However, with this strong startlist, the race can go any way.

Gazelle doing really well most recently!
Satisfied with this invisible 11th from Jiao. With Di Maggio, Ulissi and Barrio also struggling to do anything special, this race definitely went pretty well for our chances to defend our third in the PCT. With Bobridge still racing Emilia, Japan Cup and Beijing, plus Gossy in Faso, we still have a shot at some good results in our final races of the season.
Congrats, Alak. No news to see Quickstep shining, but anyway
