September has swiftly been and gone, and the end is in sight. 4 HC, 3 C1, 2 C2HC and 2 C2 races remain - the final 11!
Tour of America dominates the top of the table, which unfortunately means that Repsol were top scores of the month, ahead of Heineken. A 388 point haul for Metinvest at the Tour of Britain ensured that their strong second half of the season continued, while Gazelle also enjoyed a strong month. Boeing fared best of the relegation battlers but the doomed Compal-Merida also had a memorable month.
Bank of Ireland were the top CT team, scoring 1 point more than In-n-out but with notably less race days. Bottom side Wounded Warrior enjoyed an American resurgence.

Quickstep have managed to hold off Heineken's last big Tour of America swing of points, and now look set to secure the title. Oz Cycling are looking good for 3rd considering their remaining race days, while CSC-Orbea were running out of time to get back into the Top 5.
But with the confirmation that Lotto - Australia Post will disband, the promotion fight has been taken away from that battle. Perhaps we should look down to 8th place, as it is not out of the question that more PT teams could go. After a superb month Gazelle have stormed ahead of La Vie Claire to take on that next best position, while Metinvest have jumped all the way up to 12th.
A late September resurgence have left Boeing as the most likely of the bottom 5 to avoid the drop, as they move up to 26th. Tour du Faso will surely be a critical race for them, and recent winner Geraint Thomas, as they must outsocre rivals Allianz and Hornbach there. Kenya Airways are not yet safe either. Project Africa, Mobil, BelarusBank and Compal are facing the drop now though - can Compal at least pass 1000?
In the mid-table the Tour of America saw some big jumps - none more so than Kazzinc up to 14th, Karcher down to 19th and Puma to 17th. After a promising start, Meiji's season has certainly fizzled out, and they'll do well to make even the Top 15 now.

Bonsucro were certainly unimpressed by their Tour of America performance but nonetheless it has returned them to the top of the table. They now go head to head with ONCE-Eroski at RCN, Utah and Zurich to decide the division winner. Grupo Nutresa have those 3 races plus Yekaterinburg and can still play a major part in the fight. It will be harder for Vontobel and Euskaltel - but given that Euskaltel have seemingly bribed the game AI, perhaps they will seal yet more race wins from the breakaway?
The battle in the Top 10 has really picked up this month, with so many active teams fighting for a higher position, to increase their likelihood of promotion. Evonik, Bank of Ireland and TomTom can be most happy with their month, but Azteca, Sauber and Siam now have the race days remaining to fight back.
In-n-out had a strong Tour of America to climb 4 places to 18th, and that race has also seen a change at the bottom with Wounded Warrior moving level with Chiquita - and both now nearly 100 points clear of Team Live Nation, who will find it hard to dodge the wooden spoon now.
Ameriabank enjoyed a victory this month and that puts them into 20th places - but expect a very close fight between them, Carlsberg, Alpina and Eddie Stobart for that sought after position.

Mendes really closed the gap in the individual standings with victory at Herald Sun Tour and 2nd in Montreal, but he falls 8 pts short of overtaking his fellow Portugese rider - and now Rodrigues has 2 stage race opportunities to seal the Individual standings. Wyss and Geschke also did their best to close the gap.
Zoidl and Tiernan-Locke move into the Top 20, while Americans Duggan, Haga and Sweeting climb up to the Top 30.

It looks like we're well on course to finish top 5. It's our goal after all, and that would make us 4/5 on goals this season.
We had a good month, imo. Ofcourse, it could have been a bit better if the AI in Britain played out differently, but in the end it wouldn't have made that much difference.

Whatever happens in October it is very likely we'll end up somewhere between 4th and 6th and this can be called a success. If we manage to get 100+ Points out of the last four classics it might be enough for a (real) promotion spot.

I'm also quite pleased to see at least two crit series veterans in the PCT top 25, Holloway and Y. Nepomnyachsniy. It's somewhat funny (or maybe not so much, considering the amount of time, effort, and thought that goes into this game) that the rider development in the Man-Game seems so much more on point than PCM. The importance of quality management and coaching, the riders who overreach potential or don't quite get there. It's really interesting to see who is lighting it up now, after not having been an active manager for, what's it been, four seasons at this point.

This is our 2nd best month, ranking point wise, since the times of Armavia, just beaten by Lo Cicero's overall win in Eneco Tour. We are now within striking distance of Belarusbank, but I'm afraid it's gone for us now, the first half of the season were terrible (actually, the first 95% of the season was) and that's where we failed.
Oh well, let's see what the future brings. We might be better off trying at a level that fits us better.
can Compal at least pass 1000?
