G'Day! We are here for the, c2, 2014 Herald Sun Tour. 3 pro-conti teams and 13 continental teams form the roster for this one. Last year Rogers took the GC, however, with a steep hill finish included in this edition (stage 5) we may see more of a puncheur-type take the GC here.
With many positions in the continental rankings hotly contested, after a definitive update, this race is a crucial 6 days in deciding many teams' fate. Particularly for those teams chasing the last of the promotion spots: Evonik, Bank of Ireland, Tom-Tom and the like.
Noted Sprinters:
Guillen, Forero, Meyer, Vingerling, Drapac, Matthews, Sinner, Rasmussen, Cardoso, Renshaw, Fonseca & Geschke.
Noted TT Specialists:
Stannard, Elijzen, Zoidl Renang, Joeaar & Lindgren
Noted Puncheurs:
Mendes, Haas, Hollenstein, Duggan, Puusepp, Cioban, Schurter, Sarabia & Busche

I knew the numbers given to riders were messed up, but giving Gomenyuk the 1 on my team is really weird. Puusepp, Cardoso and Nikolaev all have way better chances.
Guess Cardoso may do very well here considering most finishes aren't flat. And with Nikolaev to help him I may just have the best sprinting duo available here.
Puusepp will fail tho.

Very very very very very important race for us. Will be crucial in achieving our Top 10 ranking goal, and of course, promotion.
Vingerling here for the sprints along with a sprint train, Elijzen for the TT and Duggan or even Elijzen for the GC. Sucks that Stannard is here again, though Elijzen has proved that he is able to beat him now and then, though there are also a few other TT threats here.
So happy I did save up some leader racedays for the last part of the season.

Number 1 bib is decided upon AVG in stage-races, I believe

The race that saved us from relegation last year. Will follow it with interest. Didn't make sense to subscribe for C2 races this year, so unfortunatelly no Oz here this time.
Still some former (Drapac, Matthews) and future (Wohler, Haas ) Oz riders, so a few names to cheer for!

Hope that Elijzen, Vingerling and Duggan crash or something, I don't want TomTom to take away my top 10 ranking.

Yeah. That would be cool. Add Drapac (BoI) to that list as well.
As The Rider wrote this will be crucial for us. It's the last stage race
With some non-pancake-flat sprint stages we can hope that Geschke will be in the mix for some stage wins as well as the point jersey. Should we (even) be allowed to build a leadout train then we have a good one available with all of Hansen-Saramotins-Boivin here.
Joeaar can be a wildcard for the GC as the only real hilly stage is after the TT and he could be treated as a GC contender then.
And Stoltz is of course always a wildcard. Let's see what the AI creates this time of him.
To our rivals:
BoI: Mendes is of course always a treat but with only one hilly stage after the TT it will be interesting to see if it can be enough to get a good GC for him. Hopefully, it won't be enough for the top spots. Drapac has shown already this season that he can get results even on not completely flattish profiles. Hopefully, he proves that a one-off result and gets cracked too much by the hills.
TTT: Vingerling can never be underestimated for the sprints but with a lot of strong sprint rivals I hope that the likes of Matthews, Meyer or Forero will be ahead of him. Not to forget Geschke. But who I fear way more is the duo of Duggan/Elijzen. Both are candidates for a great GC result and I can just hope that they will not score too big so we can reach them again after this race.
Sauber: Zoidl is always a dangerous option for those kind of races. Let's hope that this will be any different.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Say what?
Very excited to be back on "home soil", hopefully we can do a good race. Should be an open race. A very selective hilly stage is probably the best for me. Top 5 goal this. We've been failing very much with our goals so far this season, so I hope that I can be close this time...

Forero's last race of the season, so our final ranking will very much depend on what happens here as I'm not expecting any great shakes from our last few races (not that it really matters when you're down in 20th or so). Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of competition, but a couple of podiums (and possibly a stage win should things go well) should be the objective.

Another chance for the not-so-deadly Cioban-Sarabia pucher duo to do something GC wise.
The flatness of the TT should be good for Renäng as well.
Hopefully the complete lack of sprinting quality on the squad will make them attack more than usual. Who knows perhaps this could even be the race whee a break featuring us can get some success...
Giving the number one to Rasmussen in a race with quite a few speedbumps is an interesting choice by the game as well

TT win is a must, anything else would be a bonus considering how badly the second half of my season has gone

Fancy Stannard to win if he can cling on to the peloton before the TT. The hilly finish could cost him, but if he has the lead then I'd expect him to cling on. |

Drapac needs to win at least one stage on home soil, while Memdes needs to win the hilly stage and ideally get a high GC finish. Yep, I'm in full promotion panic mode.

Really? I'd be surprised if Stannard could hold on even without Stage 5. That should be far too much for him and his 55 hill.

Let's go Rasmussen. Just gotta go straight through the hills like the Mid East!

AMEXpc is here just to give our young riders some experience. I doubt we with get in anybody's way or impact the GC standings. That said our best chance to shine will be veteran rider Mathew Busche who should be around on the hills and an decent in the TT.
Other than Busche we have young kids getting some experience.
