Oberosterreichrundfahrt
The Continential Tour is heading for Austria, where the 3-stages-event goes into it's second edition after Joaquin Rodriguez Oliver (Iberia) took out the first last season.
It's an interesting little stage race with two flat and one (likely to be crucial) hilly stage on final day. That said, also the first two flat rated stages are quite hilly: especially the second day features a finishing circuit with a climb that may hurt pure sprinters' legs.
So there's not only puncheurs hoping for some GC-chances here, as also sprinters with the ability to climb can actually do something. That may be the reason for a quite packed startlist, as 22 CT-teams will take part in this year's edition.
The Startlist
The Favorites
Punchers | HI | SP | ACC | Lejman | 77 | 59 | 68 | Haas | 76 | 68 | 73 | Kolobnev | 76 | 63 | 68 | Tiernan-Locke | 76 | 63 | 74 | Wyss | 75 | 68 | 75 | Hollenstein | 75 | 63 | 73 | Cioban | 75 | 64 | 66 | Ilias | 75 | 64 | 68 | Duggan | 75 | 62 | 67 | Beltran | 74 | 65 | 72 | Sorensen | 74 | 62 | 65 | Selander | 74 | 69 | 74 | Feillu | 74 | 63 | 70 | Ito | 74 | 61 | 69 | Fahnert | 74 | 63 | 71 | Montaguti | 74 | 63 | 67 | Rosa | 73 | 62 | 72 | Zoidl | 73 | 61 | 69 | Punchy Sprinters | | | | Geschke | 74 | 76 | 76 | Pozdnyakov | 73 | 75 | 74 | Parisien | 73 | 74 | 71 | Millan | 72 | 74 | 75 | Vitoria | 71 | 74 | 72 | Golas | 71 | 74 | 72 | Moreno | 71 | 70 | 71 | Lang | 70 | 75 | 75 |
Starting with the pure puncheurs, we should have Lejman, Haas, Kolobnev or Tiernan-Locke as the obvious favorites, even though also Vontobel lines up with a quite dangerous trio headed by Wyss or Hollenstein.
Cioban/Sorensen, Duggan or Ilias as the maybe most promising contenders for the Top-5 in GC, while Sauber will hope for Zoidl to deliver on home turf.. Of course some more riders do stand a realistic chance to be in the mix for a Top-10 at least.
Especially those punchy sprinters, who are able to survive the hilly stage, will fancy their chances as well: Geschke as the obvious pick here may aim for all stages to finish at the very front. Same goes for Podzyankov and Parisien/Millan and a few more guys, who are capable of doing well on at least the two final days.
The Sprinters
Matthews | Farrar | Caethoven | Bandiera | Uugunbayar | Speirs | Belletti | Dupont |
And those are the best sprinters "in town", who will hope for the first two stages ending in a bunch sprint: Matthews (coming off a great Juarez-tour), Farrar and Caethoven as the favorites for sprint finishes. They all do survive smaller hills and add some good speed.

Will be hard to beat Geschke, but Pozdnyakov should do well with the help of Firsanov and Kharatyan

This is my third goal race and i hope to see Geschke succeeding it. I need a top 5 for it.
Looking at my squad again this is really one of the few races where I only sent riders because of their skills and not for XP-gaining purposes.
Geschke of course the complete leader. I tried to give him a good leadout so that he will be able to collect bonus seconds on the first two stages (and perhaps winning a stage) and a bit of support for the hill stage.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Do not have high expectations for this race, I'm actually not waiting for nothing from my team.
But tsmoha is there any reason not to have been mentioned Federico Rocchetti (75HI 65SP 64ACC)??

No reason, just missed him when browsing the teams or sorting the list of favorites. Sorry for that

We're mainly here to give Zoidl a chance to lead us in his home tour, we don't really expect much from it results wise but we're hoping bringing him, fresh off the back of a very strong showing at the Vuelta Guatemala, will raise the team's profile in the country.

We're in it to win it! (It's our win goal at least)
Sent the best team available to provide maximum support for Marcel Wyss.

Hope to see Lejman perform as his ratings indicate. The key is stay out of trouble the first two stages.

Not sure what my two sprinters did there.
Dupont looked in a great position at the corner but Geschke had lost the wheel until then. Did you noticed something which might have caused it?
The next stage should suit Geschke better though...

It's good we got in the break and picked up a load of KOM points and those bonus seconds from the sprints are welcome even if we know they won't make a difference after the hill stage.

That was an unexpectedly strong sprint by Dong, didn't see that coming. Although he had a great wheel the whole time, so hoping for more of the same

Hmm, definitely an interesting stage here from the guys in black and yellow.
I'm not sure if i like to see Geschke attacking there as he could have saved some energy by "just going for the stage win" but it wasn't a bad idea either as every second counts. But he should definitely have stayed with Haas there. He isn't that much stronger so that must have been possible.
However, getting that podium is definitly a great thing.
Thrilled now for the final stage. Geschke is currently on the 5th place we need for our goal and he has 14 seconds ahead of the bunch and some pure sprinters ahead of him so I have good hopes. Let's see how this turns out...

Good to see an attempt to do something was actually made. My team even surprised me by both sprinting ánd joining the break.
