Why did I do this time consuming work, searching website, reading roadbook and regulations from all corners of the world ?
Well Cyanide sold this (in my opinion) valuable info short. The intermediate sprints and King-of-the-Mountain competitions are very different in almost every race. Bonus seconds play a very important role in stage-races that are shorter than a week. In some cases Cyanide even shut their eyes for the fact that these (and team and youngster) are not the only jersey competitions in many smaller races.
The best example is of course Tour of Britain which have a separate jersey for the intermediate sprints (Yoda sprints) and the Finish points (Chain Reaction). No such possibility to separate these are in the game which is sad.
The UCI rules of max 4 jerseys only apply to bigger races (WT) so that is what Cyanide has followed, but in other races up to 6 jerseys are possible.
What have in some cases made this extra hard is the great work that stage-creators have done. In some (thankfully few) cases they have not follow the precise setup the stages have in real life. Putting in category climbs in what ever category class they themselve thought nice. This is in conflict with correct classifications and can create problems getting this game to more precise outcome.
However some smaller(or bigger) bugs in direct calculation have thrown me offside to be sure. In certain races (no clear picture) the points during a race don´t add up correctly. That´s not my new xml files since the old one have it too.
One has to be observant and watch in-race the provisional info that pops up in the upper right corner. That gave away the miss-calculation.
When the race is over and done I can´t see what each and every sprint had in outcome only the total points gathered for that stage.
So finding this bug one has to stop before finish after all sprints and KoM are done and write down what each sprint had. My your own calculation, tiresome. Then you will find out this bug, but only now and then.
Sadly I haven´t found the correct circumstance and without the code it´s 10 times harder. I made Cyanide aware but they ignored it.
Perhaps they don´t understand english that well, so perhaps someone reading this could test and try to explain in french to them. I would like to see if this is only me too, since then it´s even more strange.

Are these compatible with PCM13? If so I'd love to use them, great job on correcting all these races.

About the wrong points, my guess is that it could be connected to when it's very close as sometimes I've seen one name pop up in the top left as having won the KOM sprint but when I checked the page where it gives you all the sprints on the stage to see how many points my rider attacking out of the peloton took it's been in a slightly different order.
That said I've never counted them up to check which is right.

Great work!
Will definately use them when starting a career, which won't be soon. Quietly hope the xml are included in an upcoming DB release... or you provide an updated FCDB.cdb-file, too!?

I don´t have Pcm13 so I don´t know, but if you fnd a field like I mentioned and then a folder with xml classifications files I do Think it works.
You could try with one race and edit your DB as I informed.
Do tell if it works..... |

I do hope someone will give these a go and please comment on them.
I hate to continue this work if no-one seam to care, so any criticism will be helpful (clearly prefer constructive of course)
Then will I publish the rest covering most HC and many many 2.1 stage races. ??

I think if you make it a package and contact the PCM.daily team, to ask them to put it on the site for download, it'd help alot
But good work nonetheless! I'll look forward to see classifications for 2.HC races too!

That is indeed awesome work. The things that surprises me is your patience, and would be a shame if you'd stop at some point. Keep up this, it's also a help for the db-makers

I have mess PCDaily but so far no interrest, strange enough...
As everything else folks have added (like stages and graphics) it takes patience and work to be sure. Mine is only a little compared to stage & graphic creators. They have to create I only do research and gathers info that could have be done by Cyanide I believe.
Hard working on HC and 2.1 stage races so I´ll be back soon.
So more packages comes ....
And mates
Thanks for encouragement..

You are spot on mate.
I looked at this very carefully and on "photo-finishes" at these sprints I could see that the information given onwho won that sprints is not always what it seams to be.
So it´s the presentation in the in-race info, not calculation, that is wrong.
The information on prov-results in upper right corner actually have the correct points. And (lord and behold) Cyanide do calculate correct, BUT sends you the wrong info in-race.
This will be most obvious in the first stage of a tour.
It´s hard to figure this out, when the info in-race can´t be looked at post-race. Only the total points are shown in the results for the stage at hand.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction in my search for the error.
And now we have some 16 new races at the 2.HC level to race with new and real-life point results, and they do give some new angles to this game.
Enjoy them mates and as always DO COMMENT. If something doesn´t work I need to know. The more of us that use them the more they can be adjusted to 100% real-life situations inside the limitations of Cyanide present product. |

Hope you all can enjoy this little XMas gift.
I guess this is the last of my XLM files. If anyone got a specific wish I have forgotten to include, please tell me. I will se if I can dig up info on such a race and create a presentable XML file.
I do believe some will pop up in a PcmDaily update in the future,
so then you don´t have to do the editing yourself.
Hope you can enjoy them and what they offer.

Well time for some updates.
Dubai Tour not only got raised to 2.HC but also changed their classifications
I have added some imaginary points for KoM, since some stage creators can't stay away from the temptation of adding KoMs.
THIS RACE HAS NOOOO Mountain sprints. OK in fantasy setups of course.
However it has the issue Cyanide failed to include.
The intermediate sprints is a different jersey than the points giving at the finish line.
No way to handles this I am afraid, so they have to be combined.
Herald Sun Tour made some smaller changes.
I am afraid that the category of Arthurs Seat should have been Cat 1, but that is nothing that I can fix in the stage.
Added is the San Luis race. It has kind of strange setup, with NO points on the finish line, no bonus seconds
Hope you can add and enjoy this little update.
Feel free to comment and suggest other stage races.
Naturally these works for stages for both 2013 and 2014 (perhaps even 2012)

Hmm I beg to differ.
I can't see that the race has been lifted up to 2.HC anywhere.
On uci website still only 2.1
https://www.uci.ch...p;classc=0
Then whatever has it to do with the XML files ???
I checked how this year regulations and roadbook says about this, and no difference for this race in 2015 than last year.
Still NO bonus seconds on sprints or finish line.
I guess my old file still holds up.
Please AiZak elaborate this statement of yours .... I'm eager to help if I can.

I think Aizak is confusing it with Vuelta a Burgos, Vuelta a Andalucia will remain 2.1 as in the past years

Well mate,
I think if you compare UCI official website with some confused spanish newsites I do put my money on UCI until they change. (That's knowing UCI might flip-flop at any time)
THEN ONCE MORE !! Could you tell me why this discussion is in this thread ??
What has this to do with the XML files ??????????????????
Whatever classification 2.1 or 2.HC or even downgrade to 2.2 the regulations are the same according to their own website, and I do believe the Andalucia Ruta del Sul organizers know (or are they confused as the newssite, perhaps to much siestas :cool
The race is soon to start so then we will know for sure I hope.
