I was just wondering, I always feel I've got to keep the sponsors happy. But what happens when you lose the sponsor's confidence?
And what happens when your finances go into the red? |

The sponsor confidence doesn't matter, since you can't resign it or get a higher/lower budget the happiness of your sponsor is irrelevant.
I'm not 100% sure about what will happen if your finances goes into the red, but I think you might be fired form your team if you have a negative balance at the end of the year. You could probably be knee-deep in dept during your whole season, as long as you are in plus by the time it ends.

Excellent, I was getting worried the sponsors might get rid of me soon, as I'm not even racing the races they want me to win.
Thanks for the fast answer.

Like cactus-jack said, you will not be fired when in debt. But if your in debt at the end of the season, the game might just remove the sponsor and you will be left with a very low sponsor. I guess this is some kind of a bug so better don't try it.
But you can only sign low sponsors and lowest riders if your bank account is below zero, even if it is only -1, so better avoid it. |

in pcm06 (god, that´s a long time ago) when I was a beginner on this game, I almost didn´t win anything on one career and I think I got fired, or at least a VERY unhappy sponsor... not sure how it works today though |

Sponsor happiness only effects the budget of the next sponsor that you sign. A happier sponsor means a higher chance of a new sponsor signing a higher budget. So it really doesn't matter until the last year of a sponsor deal.

I am not sure if this is correct. At least it would not make any sense... |

it seems weird to me that they removed the getting fired feature all together
especially with the new sponsor system it would make sense for it to have consequences.

I am now in season 2019, I have renewed sponsors twice with many options, my current sponsor is coca cola with a big budged. But this season it seems impossible to get a new sponsor, I have tried all international/legendary areas, without any luck, my sponsor confidence is currently on yellow (previously it has been perfectly green when I looked for sponsors), so I am tempted to believe that the sponsor confidence somehow affects your chance of finding a sponsor..
Does anyone know if this is true?

DaBobScotts said, that it affects the budget of the future sponsor (which sound like bogus to me), so why do you think that it also affects the sponsor search? (which would be uber bogus, really).
Are you sure that there are still sponsors left in your DB?

I dont know, a lot of things dont really makes sense. Its just really strange that i cant find one sponsor in season 2019, when I found tons of sponsors in earlier seasons, the only difference I observed is that I dont have a perfect confidence now, so I was just curious if that could be the reason. I agree though that it makes no sense.
So what do you think is the reason I have this problem?

What do you mean by that? Sponsors are supposed to be there forever, meaning they could sponsor a team in 2012~15 then come back in 2020. Although this is not the first time I've seen people saying it's harder to find sponsors as they progress in careers.

Sorry didnt see your question first.
So you can actually run out of sponsors? it seems like all the other teams are finding new sponsors this year..
What is the trick to continue the career if this is the case? or i guess there is a way to check it?

I though it is possible but lluuiiggii says it is not. There is a table in the DB called DYN_sponsor. As far as I know, some sponsors have a limit, so they stop supporting teams after this year, but I never tested it. |

Seems a bit odd. Isn't there a quite large number of sponsors in the PCMDaily DB atleast enough to last past 10 seasons? Also don't forget; alot of teams, especially WT-teams, renew their contracts almost every time. I'm in 2014 and every WT-team except SaxoBank and Omega Pharma will have their original sponsor atleast untill 2016.
Just a side question; what do you have to do to be able to search for Legendary sponsors?

Well, sobrano created a thread saying that in about 2024 most sponsors would run out because of the value_i_year_max table, which - according to CrueTrue - defines how long a sponsor is willing to stay with a team, and - according to sobrano - the year a sponsor would "expire" from the DB. Here are the two threads discussing that:

Perfect sponsor confidence, still no sponsor, searched pretty much every area and level. So I guess I can dismiss my theory.
I will try to edit the db then, thanks for helping me out.
