This is kinda got to do with Armstrong, thought I'd post here. Just wanted to express my frustration with the Brazilian Cycling Confederation's latest action: there was a report about the Armstrong case and stuff on one of the biggest audience TV programs in Brazil, "Fantastico", last Sunday night. Near the end of it, it says that doping is also a problem among the Brazilian cyclists, and a small part of an interview with the current Brazilian NT coach, Antonio Carlos Silvestre, is showed. In it, he says there are athletes that are living a fantastic time at their teams, but when called to the national team and to race abroad, have a big blow on performance. And wonders "what is it? Less training? No", and then says "it's doping".
You know what the Confederation did, right after it? Fired him. According to the official note, "in respect for the Brazilian athletes and because we believe in a clean sport" and because of his "unfounded statements", he's now dismissed. Apparently, hiding doping cases wasn't good enough for them. This is the country that's gonna host the 2016 Olympics, ffs.

lluiiggii, no offense, but....it's brazil. You're going to have to get used to a lot of corruption everywhere

Sadly it is like isso says, but hey, we can at least give credit to Antonio Carlos Silvestre for telling the truth.

Hope the Olympics will go smoothly there, though. |

I voted "No" before reading this thread. I read it all, links includes, and I have to say this:
Lance Armstrong definitely doped and, at the light of the regulations, should lose his titles as he did.
But no matter what he was on, he DID give an amazing show on the road, and for those (now somewhat tainted) memories I just can't hate the guy... |

Had his train of sometimes heavy guys motorpacing the peloton up the mountains, dropping a bunch of favourites or runner ups, then he dropped the last of them. Same on other mountain stages bar the fact he only controlled his main opponents.
Strange definition of "amazing show on the road"... |

That sounds strangely familiar. Hmm. Maybe it was this years TDF?
OH and I saw a video of Armstrong's deposition in some lawsuit where he spouted the same "I would lose everything if I cheated" BS Wiggins spouted at this years Tour. |

Yesterday there was the Tyler Hamilton interview at the ZDF Sportstudio
Wow, they said thanks a lot for the questions I sent in but none!! of them was asked to Tyler yesterday.
A typical boring interview like normally with the footballers and not on the level like the Manzano interview 2006.. For cycling fans there was nothing new so if you missed it, you don't need watch it (to the German speakers here)
