Things are looking really ugly right now. Glad to see Higuita in the break and doing well, would love a KoM push from him after his Tirreno success.

What a ride by Tenorio! Can he keep that lead all the way?
Very happy with Sosa today after the breakaway yesterday didn't lead to much. Nesset also decent, so all in all a good day.

Very good stage by Kritskiy, also fun to see the fanbase of Mamykin growing!

Strong effort from Tenorio here. Looks like he might actually be the man to beat. Would have thought it was much much closer - but it can become close of course.
For a while I thought things looked very solid for Mavrikakis to take 3rd or 4th on the stage and take a big jump in the GC, but the gap reduced drastically in the end for him to finish quite far back. David de la Cruz however had a very solid day in the saddle to take 12th from the favorites which moves him to 11th GC. Easily "best of the rest" at the moment behind riders who are simply better. If he can stay in that spot of 10-13th I'll be very pleased with his efforts - and if he can then take a day in the break to fight for a stage it will be even better. I suspect Mavrikakis will be the go to guy for us though in that respect.
Thankfully we did put 2 guys in the break although seemingly without any KOM interests. Next time it would be great to put a rider more suited than Miltiadis in the morning break. Next season it's fine, but he's not ready yet. Giannoutsos, Ioannidis, Spanopoulos or Mavrikakis are the obvious choices.
Congrats cio for a great great effort from Zimmerman, punching well above his weight to not only stay out front for 40 points on the stage, but also claiming the KOM for the time being.

Roman didn't do well in the break sadly, probably on a bad day. I don't mind though if he conserves his energy for some sprint success.
Great stage & report!

Rough stage for us. Tenorio was very strong and Madrazo just didn't have an answer. The team also blew up trying to help him.

Not sure what to think about the stage. While losing such a large gap to Tenorio is not what i wanted to see, keeping up with Madrazo on such a steep climb is not bad either. Of course it is also good that most other contenders were distanced again so the expected podium is getting more likely with every stage.
A bit of an annoyance to see the two breakaway riders stay ahead and stealing valuable stage points.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Carboni losing a bit as expected but still sitting nicely in 12th.
Ciccone with a good attempt. Not as strong as others but good to see him trying.
Koep/Schlegel in expected areas, which is fine as well while Minali still in the race.
Tenorio looking strong here. Wonder if Taaramae can bounce back later on. |

Very nice read.
Love that fact that it was not a long distance attack today. Instead a late surprise attack within the GC top. Congrats to Moser - Sygic, those 24 seconds might not make a lot of difference in the end, but the extra points will be very welcome i guess.

Nothing in it for us here, but two guys in the break is as good as it get's. Both Giannoutsos and Mavrikakis lost quite some time on this stage which was totally unnecessary and also messed up our decent Team GC position, so that's not quite good enough.
I can only hope that it means they are on a roll tomorrow, but I suspect it's one for the GC guys.

Some nice secondary battles going on for us: Powless vs Vlasov (probably not gonna win that one) and the Team Rankings is also still close together. Ulrich Ulriksen -> amazing reporting!!!

This is going to be a big three minutes up to the top 10 now GB has cleared the way to 11th from behind. Need to facetime Areruya in the hotel tonight to talk breakaway tactics I think

Awesome stage and report. Iconic performance from Taaramae, and it was cool to see Fabbro lighting it up from the break.

Holy shit, what a performance! Evonik masterclass! Not only by Taaramae but also by the rest of the team. Dominant from start to finish - a team on a mission <3
Thanks for an awesome report. Got goosebumps throughout.
Now two flat days to relax in red and let Dzamastagic do all the dirty work at the front of the pack. And then its gonna be interesting how much team depth can help us during the next mountain days. Already was crucial today when only the elimination of every single rival domestique enabled Taaramae to open such a large gap.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Boom - the Rein Man is back. Congrats to knockout on the win, a great performance from the whole Evonik squad.
Nesset again pretty good. Hope he can get a chance to go in q break and climb a few spots in the final week.

Glad folks enjoyed the stage, it was fun one.
Forgot to add that I am not sure I if I will be able to post tomorrow, so might be two days for the next stage, will catch up over the weekend.
