Way to go boys. Every proud of that ride. Relish it because I don't think there will be a lot to cheer about in the next two and half weeks.

Better than expected! Cattaneo in 10th after the TTT is more than I could have asked for before-hand |

Awesome performance by the Gazelle train! This does indeed soften the pain of Madrazo's crash. To be fair though, this win was probably made possible by Jayco and Metinvest's TT engines falling victim to crash injuries.
Some great screenshots in the report danny, thanks!
I hope Madrazo can carry this momentum into the upcoming mountain stage and gain back some more of the time he lost in stage 1.

Sad to not see a screenshot of Tinkoff/Malori's Italian NC jersey or any info about how Tinkoff got 7th, nonetheless I understand reporting a GT is a lot of work, so thanks for the report anyways.
Don't think a breakaway will win tomorrow, maybe lateron in the Giro we can have some KoM/fighting for stage win success

If we stay in 5th all the way then I'll be pleased with that. Thanks for the timely report danny.

Okayish by Nerz, what the heck Bongiorno. I hope this sets him up for the KoM hunt and a stage win later on.

At least Pluchkin didn't win.I don't have anything against him but I want the race to be interesting.
And Alarcon showing his class again |

two in the top 20 is a very good effort for the team and Elissonde in 2nd in U25 is good but would like someone in the break |

Hopefully Olivier will be 2-3 times in the selection group instead of the "favourite peloton". Otherwise his loss in the ITT and TTT will only see him in top25 instead of top15.
Koep in top40. |

What a win for Alarcon there, betcha he's gonna tell his grandchildren about distancing Pluchkin and Madrazo in the finale of a tough mountain stage!

All Evonik guys finished inside the time limit which is very nice with two stages upcoming that could suit Frankenstayen well. Time to regain the points jersey ...
Glad about Alarcons victory. Won me a bet
Oh and cool to see my team getting into a break. Although a bit ironic that Stoltz choses the stage that fits him the least ...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

What a ride from Kwiatkowski! He overperforms again. A top 10 GC here would really do nicely for us, still a long way to go of course. |

It looks like Henao has a realistic chance to finish in the top 5 here, which would be amazing considering the situation in which the team is at the moment.

Still in the points jersey and everyone inside the time limit, that's a good day! Even got two riders inside the top 100.
Flat day again tomorrow. Seems like the boys had an easy day today, so they are hopefully ready to fight for another stage win.
Somewhat surprising to see Alarcon taking the win. He should be a class beneath the two others, but clearly not today! Also a great ride from Kwiatkowski. If he could mange a top 10 here it could be the kick start that Kenya need in their attempt to survive.

Thank you for a nice report, sgdanny
Solid from Guldhammer, which is very nice. Hopefully he can build on this, and be on a similar level on the upcoming mountain stages, as then a top 10 shouldn't really be a problem, and we can even allow ourselves to think about challenging for even higher GC placings.
Big congrats to Smowz! Very, very nice to see the magical tiny climber do it again, definitely proving himsel as a top top climber (again). Big question is if he can prove consistency and challenge Madrazo and maybe even Pluchkin for the top spots overall.
And that was quite a ride from both Barguil and Kwiatkowski. Hopefully they'll be more human in stages to come, but cool to see them come up with a surprise. |

Thanks for the report sgdanny, they have all been good so far. I did have a bit of trouble with a couple of the images in this most recent report, however.
The splits on the first few stages have really ruined a lot of this race for me, right from the start. Particularly with Wellens crashing, as well as Serry, who seems to maybe be injured. Now I feel like Wellens might just be fighting to get into the top ten all race, rather than fighting for 6th-7th-ish, which is what I was hoping with this relatively weak GC bunch. Still, I hope he can at least take the young rider's jersey.

Very pleased with Kolesnikov and from 15th to 2nd place in the team rankings is also very good.
