Koretzky tried, but on stage 4 seemed slightly injured. 21st in the GC is probably as good as it's going to get - I have to hope he will attack from way out on the final stage.
Jerome Coppel's training from 74 to 76 hill seems like a complete waste, however. He massively underperforms on the hills and despite having a perfect position before the hilly stages he is now more than 14 minutes down and not even in top 50. Having a TTT and an ITT, I thought he could fight for a top 15 here.
Anything less than a stage win in the ITT and he is basically worthless here.

Mehr-Wenige, by himself, saving this race for us. Getting the jersey out there is all we can ask. So close for the KOM contest, with some real battles for it, if we get that that will be huge!
Top reports, trekbmc. |

Brilliant work by Juul-Jensen, taking the lead in the KoM. Probably need to be in the break again on the last day, but if he can hang on to that lead and Meyer can finish top 20 in GC, this would be a very good race for us.
The ITT up next. Will be hard to deny Coppel, but hope that Howson and Dempster can grab some points.

Glad Ginanni went with the group of favourites, but after that he went back to his usual passiveness.
Kangert, Koren and Monfort lose huge amounts of time again, which for quality puncheurs like them must mean all three of them are injured. You can't make this shit up...

Very pleased to still have the leader jersey going in to the ITT, hopefully it helps a little, also stage 6 looks to be the most mountainous of all stages...

Meh, Wilco really needs a good TT now if we're supposed to get anything out of this. Not even white is within easy reach anymore and that should've been a given pre-race.

Lutsenko finally breaks through! I really think that if he is given a training in hills he could be among the best puncheurs of the world tour with that acceleration, the lower hill just makes him a bit more inconsistent and form dependent, congrats wacko
Interesting stage final there, but in the end Trofimov is just controlling in the best way as he can! Great reports trek.

Was always likely to be a shyte race for us here - hills just not our terrain after slightly crazy Skiddypants sell.
Heartening to see him take stage win after bad stage and nice to see guys from our team in breaks - hoping Jesper can make the break on last road stage.

As if Wilco was supposed to be miles ahead of Skujins, De Bie and Lutsenko..

I meant being within reach of the jersey should've been a given, nothing more.

This race clearly doesn't suit Gesink anymore. Too bad there's no other 6-days stage race in the calendar I could replace it with.

Excellent win, very pleased with that and the young rider jersey too. You're right Matt, hoping to train him up when he's eligible next season but we'll see... Cheers for the reports trek.

TVG slowly chipped away, but going to probably lose a chunk of that in the TT. Can only hope to maintain 2nd now.

Ah poop, was hoping to be in a better position before the time trial. Bakelants is going to have to be super aggressive on that final stage

Durbridge...
Bobridge not exactly impressive, but at least moving up to 3rd. But had hoped for more though. TTrofimov would be a deserved winner however.

Decent TT from Wilco, no-showing from Sütterlin. I wanted more out of this than 10th though, so I hope there will be aggressive racing tomorrow.

That is just not good enough! Vlatos should be around 5th, but isnt even in top 30. Coppel keeps underwhelming.

Skujins slipped out of the top ten so I want a selective final stage as just about any other manager. Overtaking De Bie and Wilco would be super important in case we slip down the rankings at a later point (someone told me there are some mountainous races coming up at some point :roll
