Great stuff from Jose.
Though for me Spilak definately pulling out a great one there. Phinney no chance now and definately now a target in the final mountain stages. Of course leading at this stage is a risk of stick with my teammates in pack syndrome. But Spilak should be Pluichkin like from here.
Hilly stage is the worrying one for Jose Alarcon of course - for once I will take a Ayubowen breakaway win please

Tenorio finishing where he should this time. Still only fifth in GC, hopefully he can improve and can atleast climb up to the podium.

4 in the top 30 today, 5th guy as 36th, doubt my team's ever done that well in any other race this season.
That depth means we're still very much fighting for the Team Class, and a lucky break would be very helpful, but other than that I would be very, very pleased with a top 15GC for Nepomnyachsniy and Popovych, Krasnoperov and Kashechkin being up rather high as well

Another strong performance from Martin, 1'41 to a superb Spilak is less than expected. Down to 7th overall was to be expected, but it's still pretty tight with only a minute separating Madrazo in third and Martin.
Hopefully he can make a difference on the hilly stage, which no doubts is by far the one that suits him the most in this race compared to the other stage racers here, I think.
Really a superb ride from Spilak, and it's kind of difficult to see him loose the race from here, but his season has shown us that it's by no means out of the question. And with six riders pretty close, all it takes is another epic solo win similar to the one Alarcon pulled of on stage 3. |

Great day for Spilak, hard time seingh im lose the race from now on. I still think Madrazo will grab 2nd, but its seems to be more open in the battle for the final podium spot as Tenorio has been slightly underperforming.
Think Alarcon will grab 3rd after some impressive performances.

4th on a stage was much better than anything we hoped for from here, so well done Eliot Lietaer

This race was/is our biggest goal of the season, so it is really Nice to have two stagewins at this point, also leading the race.
But I can easily see Spilak fucking this up, like he did in the previously two stageraces - where he was also leading at a similar point of the race. The Hill stage really should be good for him, but I fear that he will slowplay.
Hopefully my hilly setup here is sufficient...

Nice stage by Hatanaka to take 2nd, and about what I expected of Ji on the Mountain TT.

Stayed within our means... plus Penasa showing what kind of gem he already is. Tense fight for victory, but being in the fight for any 8.+ position could be exciting, too. Fun reads till here, thanks for the steady reports, roturn!

Not a good day for Karnulin, so he will have to fight for a top20 in next stages, as that is the goal!
Congrats to Festina.

That was an ok stage for us, could have been better or worse. Really need more selective mountain stages in order for Pinot to climb the standings though. |

Home from Spain again. Denifl disappointing again it seems. His results in the mountains have been underwhelming all season

This is just getting ridiculous. Plenty of lower and equal hill riders finishing in front of Tenorio, while he didn't even try anything.

Some good aggression in the race so far with Medvedev earlier and now Schleck. But the inability of the peloton to close a gap to the breakaway on a climb is frustrating. Gaining time is somewhat meaningless for Schleck with plenty of mountains left, a stage win would have been much nicer!

Prevar? Breaks? Please?
Nepomnyachsniy riding strong, 16th in the GC would be really good considering the opponents he faces here, and with 3 other riders, including Krasnoperov for a change, in the top 30 GC I'm really, really happy. Now if we'd join a break the race would be near perfect.
