Gent - Wevelgem continues the classics and the chances for Danny Summerhill. This is probably his least favorite of the races as the cobbles and climbs are few and and the distance to the finish is quite long which would allow for better sprinters to stay in the mix and likely make for a tough day for Danny to get a win.

The race would be quite tense with many major attacks starting with Boonen from long range, but within the last 10k it was a select pack leading the way, Summerhill certainly present until he decided it was time for him to leave the group with 6km left to go.
His burst wouldn't stick though as he would be forced to sprint again with the rest of the pack, able to take 6th on the stage, not necessarily a disappointment, but not really the result anyone was hoping for either.

The same team that was at Gent - Wevelgem will also represent us at E3, a tougher route which should favor Danny more leads also to higher expectations as the team continues to need points in these races to avoid relagation and keep up with what has been a fairly fun start to the season.

A unique trip to the French island of Corsica creates an all round stage race, with one flat day, a time-trial and a mountain top finish. A very strong startlist will likely keep us from finding a decent position in the GC, so like normal for us the key will be finding value in breakaways.
Azteca - NBCSN Lineup | | | 171 | | Nairo Quintana | 172 | | Anthony José Brea | 173 | | Yohann Gene | 174 | | Xavier Quevedo | 175 | | Jackson RodrÃguez | 176 | | Andres Saldarriaga | 177 | | César Vaquera | 178 | | Wilmer Vasquez |

The epitome of a bad day for us as we would be inactive in the breakaway, and although a sprint would result, our top sprinter was nowhere to be seen, buried in the peloton. No one here will be looking forward to the TT, so we will need something special on the final stage to get anything out of this race.

The race would be split by our top rival Vanspeybroeck of team BPost, Summerhill and the other major contenders would be caught out a bit by this early move and forced to play catch up for the rest of the stage.
Danny wouldn't ever seen Vanspeybroeck again, who would ironically suffer the same fate Summerhill did back in Dwars, getting wheelsucked to the end only to be out-sprinted for the finish. Danny would take a very solid 3rd and find his way onto the podium.

We all knew this would never be our kind of stage, so having no one even close to the front of the leader-board isn't a surprise, lets get to stage 3 now.

Our goal for the day would be to get into the breakaway, and Andres Saldarraiga would accomplish this for us, though he would scarcely be alone.
However he would find himself alone at the summits of the climbs before the mountain top finish to the stage, and earn himself enough points to take the KoM for this race. A great victory for the team.

An exciting invite for the team to line up at Paris - Roubaix, the hell of the north. There is little unknown about this race, other than what events can unfold during the race where just about anything can happen. Summerhill clearly is our man and will be looking for his 2nd win at the PT level, though clearly this would trump the opening stage of Het Volk.

It would not be difficult to spot our team at this race, nearly any point along the route, just look at the front of the peloton and you would find an Azteca jersey.
At the start of the cobbles you can easily see it is still an Azteca led peloton with three of our guys near the front. Including our favorite Danny Summerhill.
A trio makes a move, led by Burghardt. Summerhill makes a good move to take his wheel and the champion of the past two editions of the race, Sam Bewley also takes to this move.
Bewley and Boonen are able to separate from the field, and Summerhill is the one able to make the chase as others take to his wheel.
The long day for Summerhill is over, an unfortunate finish as all in the pack that he did the work for would jump him in the velodrome, resulting in a 17th place finish. But he did plenty to prove we belonged in this race, and certainly made an impression as a PCT team controlled the peloton for a vast majority of the race.

Summerhill scoring very well, supported by numerous great results from breakaways in the stage races so far (inc a KOM jersey) .. Yeah, the relegation places look a long long ways off at the moment for the Aztecas.
Maybe no top placing in France there, however, the team really rode well and that is worth plenty - especially with no rankings points on offer! |

The Tour of Vancouver is a tough race with undulating profiles, and climbs that will determine the GC, well those and the closing TTT. It like most other races will not be a GC concern for us, but rather riding an attacking style getting into breakaways and trying to shake things up as much as possible.

Summerhill is certainly doing the lion's share of the scoring for the team, but that is also why he was brought in. We are getting solid results even without GC contention from our guys and are thrilled to be riding right now without the pressure of relegation looming on us.
And I completely agree that P-R was a good race for us as a team, even if the results were not reflective of this.

A very small 16 team startlist for the KBC De Panne Tour, however all of the major cobblers are here, including our leader Danny Summerhill. Stage one will be the most cruicial as likely the winner there could carry the leadership all the way through the time-trial on stage four.

Any day that is a time-trial is a tough day for our team, the mountain aspect of today though probably lessened those pains just a bit. With today over we can focus on getting into the breakaways over the next week.

Stage two would only be slightly better than stage one, our sprinter Brea did try and mix himself with the other guys for the finish but would struggle and not end up in the top 10.

Stage three would be a repeat of stage two for us, with Brea again trying in the sprint but again coming up short of anything really considered successful.

A perfect day for a chance in the breakaway, but another day we would be unable to make any moves and that would only result in general disaster for us the rest of the day.

As expected for us with Summerhill we would be expected to do much of the work over the cobbles for the peloton, with Coronel at the front and Danny sheltered a little further behind we would be up to the task.
The rest of the PCT must be getting used to this image as Danny again decides to attack the field and is able to get a gap on his own, now can he be caught today?
The short answer is no, BPost rival Vanspeybrouck would take to the task of chasing but would not be able to ever regain the wheel of Summerhill as Danny takes another victory on the season and sets himself in great position for a GC win.

We again would fail to put a man into the breakaway, and even worse today, our sprinter was having a rough time and forced the team to just settle for crossing the line without any real promise coming from today.
