Difficult to say whether this stage will act as a benchmark for the future continental hilly races. If yes, then there will be a load of surprises throughout the season.

Great racing here. Also good to see the bunch breaking up into lots of smaller groups - it gives me hope that even in the peloton when it sits up there can still be good gaps.

Yep. My two most memorable memories of this were Kocjan & Pacheco going full manmode in Tour of Channeled Islands (2011) and Ricco's Giro in 2012. Burghardt almost becoming world RR champ was also an awesome moment.
Then the 2013 season came and i was yelling at my computer for other reasons .
