Congrats Dippofix and thanks to Selwink for hosting.
I guess the next host should create a new thread - it's 2015 now.
Or Manx could fix the title for us, I'm thinking that just
I'm with Stupid: Attempt 2
would be fine as well

Is this still going?
Has it stopped because Dippofix doesn't want to host? If so, 2nd or 3rd could do it and if really nobody wants to I could to keep it going.

I'd be a host, but I think Dippo or one of the more experienced players should.

I think i'll add some guidlines on what to do if the winner doesn't start again in reasonable time. Then i can say i actually added something to this game!

With the best intentions of keeping this going i'm going to post a round (see below). It's been long enough Dippo you've missed you chance. I've also added a guideline to the front rules post in-case the winner doesn't keep things going at a reasonable speed (and i changed the game name at last!)
Round 1 - Tour of Britain
1) Name a GC winner of the Tour of Britain since 2004
2) Name a winner of the Kellogg's Tour (1987-1994)
3) Name a stage town of the 2014 Tour of Britain
4) Name a post-2004 Tour of Britain Stage winner who has never ridden for a WT team
5) Name a stage town of the 2014 Friend's Life Womens Tour
Send your answers via PM to me by 12:00GMT Monday 9th

Round 1 - Tour of Britain
1) Name a GC winner of the Tour of Britain since 2004
One answer stole the show. 2013 winner Sir Bradley Wiggins (well done to those who gave him the proper title) romped away to victory scoring 9 points! The most recent winner Dylan van Baarle came home second with 4 points. 2009 winner Edvald Boasson Hagen, 2006 winner Martin Pedersen and 2008 winner Geoffrey Lequatre all netted the lone point
Spoiler Sir Bradley Wiggins x9
Dylan van Baarle x4
Edvald Boasson Hagen x1
Martin Pedersen x1
Geoffrey Lequatre x1
2) Name a winner of the Kellogg's Tour (1987-1994)
The Kellogg's Tour was the name of the pro race between 1987 and 1994. 1994 winner Maurizio Fondriest took a massive victory netting 7 points. Robert Millar and Phil Anderson scored 2 points each having won the race in 1989 and 1991/93 respectively. trekbmc and The Hobbit rack up the first incorrect answers. Stephen Roche never won the race and neither did Johan van der Velde.
Spoiler Maruizio Fondriest x7
Phil Anderson x2
Robert Millar x2
Shane Sutton x1
Malcolm Elliot x1
Joey McLoughlin x1
Stephen Roche x1
Johan van der Velde x1
3) Name a stage town of the 2014 Tour of Britain
Get this one wrong and the chances of winning the round went bye-bye. Capital city and host of the final stage London came away with a huge 10 points! The Grand Depart town of Liverpool scored 3 points. The Hobbit again incorrect as Stoke-on-Trent did not hold a stage this year having done so many times before.
Spoiler London x10
Liverpool x3
Exmouth x1
Newton x1
Stoke-on-Trent x1
4) Name a post-2004 Tour of Britain Stage winner who has never ridden for a WT team
Again 2014 was the way to go here. Neo-pro Edoardo Zardini, who races for Bardini, too the honors again here with 6 points. Second place was Matthias Brandle, winner of two stages in 2014. Unfortunately it's an incorrect answer for two reasons. 1) Brandle has ridden for Footon-Servetto in 2010 and 2) IAM is a World Tour team this year you complete fools Also Dippofix looses his 5-pointer here thanks to Enrico Degano. I also have to mention that Geoffrey Lequatre rode for Radioshack and that Michele Merlo also rode for Footon-Servetto.
Spoiler Edoardo Zardini x6
Matthias Brandle x4
Enrico Degano x2
Kristian House x1
Sam Bennett x1
Geoffrey Lequatre x1
Michele Merlo x1
5) Name a stage town of the 2014 Friend's Life Womens Tour
Relateively simple this one. Except we ended up with 3-way tie for the winning answer! Grand Depart Oundle, Stage 1 finish Northampton and the Final Finish Bury-St. Edmunds all garnered 4 points. The Hobbit gets another inccorrect with Stoke again, and bbl joins him through Stevenage.
Spoiler Oundle x4
Northampton x4
Bury-St. Edmunds x4
Clacton x1
Felixstowe x1
Stevenage x1
Stoke-on-Trent x1
In a complete twist on the normal TheManxMissile and fjhoekie, usual 5-pointres, both score a perfect round! matt17br is just behind and rogvi97, Marcovdw and lakebeach are in close pursuit. jandal7 is the only successful 5-pointer this time around. And of course the totals double as the overall scores.

What a fool, thought that Brandle would have been the most named because of his 2 stage wins but I didn't realize that I should have checked whether he actually ridden for a WT team or not, although I was sure he didn't
But 34 is still nice.

Well, if you are going to fail, you may as well do it properly
I might know nothing about the tou of britain, but at least I did not resort to google! Stoke on Trent was a stupid answer though to be fair |
