It was not the best start of the race, I expected a little more from Kupfernagel. The positive aspect is none of our top riders have lost time or been involved in the crash.

Complete domination from Fablok and Svab collecting jerseys. I like it.
Next up is the ultimative punchy sprinter stage The question is whether Kump and Modolo will fight it out against each other or can a puncheur compete with them ?

Not in the break, but at least most of my guys managed to stay safe in the end. Had hoped that Caldeira might try his luck in the sprint, but not to surprised that he didn't bother. A bit messy sprint, but anyway big congrats on the double, sgdanny

What a weird stage with only two teams in the top 4. Definitely expect Mohs to take most of the stages here as he looks fantastic rn.
Thanks for the report Roturn! |

Expected nothing from the Theuns/Planckaert/Ulissi gang in this sprint and somehow almost got a top 10. Nice to see the former even tried his luck when following Nelson. PCM is handling the compresence of an average sprinter and a fast puncheur a lot better than last year at least, which gives me hope for stage 2 and the rest of the race.
Tanovitchii retiring is a real shame, was hoping he would either push us to the top 3 of the team rankings by trying to stay high up in the GC or at least help Ulissi. Oh well, surely this means our bad luck for this race is over now
Fablok is spooky! Is Guardini too good of a leadout? Just like Mohs/Degenkolb last year, I can absolutely see this kind of scenario unfolding again, but I'm sure danny doesn't mind whatever the result is going to be.
Thanks roturn.

Wow.
I actually predicted this in one of the previews but still stunning to see a team do the double, I'm really worried about racing against Fablok now, really, congrats Danny!
Cool to see Svab do well for Isostar but it's a shame Kump couldn't be involved, hopefully he'll be better on the next stages.
Thanks for a fantastic report as well Roturn!

Itami at 5th is a decent result, about where I expected. Unfortunate that Mutsumine and Hatanaka both fell, but that could mean we have two riders capable of winning in the break down on time now. Just thankful it wasn't our most talented hill rider falling in that crash.

Scary looking punchy sprint lead-out from Ferrero there. Congrats on the win after a tough first stage. Kump making up for the first stage too
Isostar having a blinder so far!

Not happy at all with that Caruso puncture as he would have been a Top 5 favourite on the stage with his ability to sprint. I certainly hope he now gets himself a stage win. I meanwhile hope that Zingle takes over GC leading duties.

Hot damn Ferrero leadout looking fine Shame for Kump's leadout to get overtaken there but 2nd is nice and good to see Ferrero winning, congrats. Also nice to see Bole taking a top 5 for VMP!

What a finish! Ferraro crushing it is good to see. Anuar Aziz in 4th is crazy good considering his sprinting ability, and hopefully it's a sign of things to come.
Thanks roturn!

Well all went as expected, however Froome looked strong to finish that high and seems ready for next stage. Gratz with the win with Modolo perhaps as an underdog to the GC

Big fan of Ferrero, so very happy to see them getting a great win after all their trouble yesterday. Congrats, Spilak!
Good to see Olsson in the break as well, and no time lost for our GC guys. Hopefully they can deliver on the hilly stages.
