Ah, Tim!
Being very good in front of home crowds and scoring valuable points in what is actually our weak discipline.

Vontobel is doing absolutely great so far this season...
This. Seems we're even faster since we wear our well fabriced lightweight jerseys.
What a great start. Am marking the day... might be the exception Schär beats Elijzen in a TT.
If nothing strange happens Schär will end the Tour in 3rd position, Imhof adds points and we stay 2nd in team ranking... but silently I'am hoping for very fast 530 kilometres. Maybe there's a way to drop Stennard and constantly exhaust Meyer.
btw. impressive performance by Fletcher well-build squad for a well-suited race.
Thanks, cio. Was a very entertaining read!

Mmm, bit disappointing Elijzen there. Bad daily form, I suppose.

Forget Super Mario, we have Marios
Hoped for a top 10, got a top 3 basically... And nice to see Wohler and Sinclair as my next best riders

I guess Cam Meyer will be the threat for Stannard now - unless the Brit is lazy enough to get dropped in the next four days.
I'll take back what I said for Privat who have probably got decent enough points here now, nuggety stuff from Marios!

Nice to see we have won the stage, now hope Stannard wont get dropped and at least stay for a podium overall. Meyer is the biggest threat and hopefully Rowe can neutralise that

Sorry for the short break here, I was left without wifi to upload the pictures (and inform you) for some strange reason
My plan always was to finish Saturday or Sunday though, and I try to stick to that by giving you two reports today and tomorrow.
For now, finally enjoy (or don't enjoy) stage 2.

Polivoda got lost here... Just like he did multiple times last season...
Athanasiades and Elijzen are up for a nice fight if they continue to finish in these positions

This one maybe not so surprising though - Asda can't afford to lay down any pace mid-stage otherwise they'd drop their own leader over the speed-bumps!
If IRL, I'd have had let 3 or 4 guys go in the break who did badly in the TT, then control it to let them win with a 30-60 second gap to mop up all the mid- and end- stage bonus seconds - would be the best way to protect Stannard's lead rather than now having Meyer closing in. Would also make some friends in case a hand-out required for any chasing later in race .

Forero 14th better positioning needed next time, didn't see him in any of the lead-out screenshots.
At least we were active in the break (looks like a recurring feature of this team ), with Affonso picking up some mountain points.

Scorchio - That is a nice way of looking at it. But, for me, the PCM AI has certainly 'worsened' and became much less realistic for this version. I mean the gruppeto came down over 16'00 !!!!!
-- Nice to see our Brazilian holding on to a top 15 overall. But we need to get into a break on stage 3. |

Maybe this was our plan all along...
Anyway, Rowe failing is not good and Meyer second in the sprint is even worse, hopefully break aways win from now on (while they are 25 mins behind)

First podium of the season. I think the pack should do some more now.
I am worried about the sprint train collapsing though, but we should have some more experience with these trains soon

BTW I blame Ameriabank for our failure, how can't you form a train? (you know Rowe has poor ACC to change wheels)

Nice ride by Earle, glad the train worked although Haller peeled off a little early.

I hoped that Teruel would sprint here but i am not too surprised that he "safes energy". Hopefully, my boys will be more active on the next stages..
Joeaar defends his GC position and will hopefully stay in the first group on the next flat stages, too.
The next stage could be interesting as it will most likely be the hardest stage. I hope that some teams in the peleton make the pace hard for the riders with low HI stat like Stannard and some sprinters as Joeaar should be one of the strongest TTer over the hills.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Hmm, rather disappointing stage. It's always a weird sprint if it's not for the win, but Vingerling is really underperforming.

Gratz to sutty, was a brave ride by Earle. Great win and KOM-jersey almost assured.
Satisfied with the stage. Schär stays 2nd another day and Fonseca showed his competitiveness by reaching a top 10 result.
