Now lemme think of some questions. First set of 5 should come tomorrow after I wake up, so that could be pretty much the entire day.

Was a tricky question as every country has a different traditional Christmas Eve meal.

I was just going for one, that is traditional in Germany even though I never ate it. Pfft

The Hobbit
Turkey on Christmas Eve? That is the night for Gammon, I thought that was normal. Good round in general, I have enjoyed playing.

Other than that Tree topper is the same as star I think, and in my pm I wrote Beard, not Reindeers!

Right, I'm done earlier than expected, so here's the first set of 5 already.

Round 1: History

1. Name a Roman Emperor
2. Name a pope from before 1000 AD
3. Name an event in the 19th century
4. Name a war from before 1900
5. Name a country that didn't exist before 1900

Answers via PM to me. Deadline is at December 20 12AM CET. Good luck!

Top 10 again! Seriously, here's how you keep getting into 10th place; have 3 good rounds, 1 average and 1 bad. It's been unintentionally working for me anyway Pfft

Just over 24 hours left. 13 submissions so far, I'd preferably have at least 15.

The History Round

1: Name a Roman Emperor

First emperor Augustus was mentioned most, as 7 of the 16 participants chose him. Caesar, who wasn't an emperor, came close 2nd with 6.
Spoiler
7 Augustus
6 Caesar
1 Nero
1 Constantine the Great
1 Lucius Verus

2: Name a pope from before 1000 AD

First pope was Jesus' apostole Peter, who got mentioned by 8 of 16. Not answering this pretty much placed you out of contention.
Spoiler
Peter 8
St. Leo 2
Hadrian I 2
St. Paul 1
Leo III 1
St. Hyginus 1
Sisinnus 1

3: Name an event in the 19th century

A very close call. 4 people decided to opt for the American civil war, 3 went for the Industrial Revolution and 3 went for the Battle of Waterloo.
Spoiler
American Civil War 4
Industrial Revolution 3
Battle of Waterloo 3
Invention of the automobile 1
Meiji Restoration 1
Peruvian Independence 1
Congress of Vienna 1
Lincoln Assasination 1
Italian Risorgimento 1

4: Name a war from before 1900

Again a close round. The Napoleonic wars just prevailed over the American civil war.
Spoiler
Napoleonic Wars 6
American Civil War 5
2nd Anglo-Dutch War 1
Boxer War 1
First Barbary war between the US and the Barbary States of North Africa 1
30 Years War 1
French Revolution 1

5: Name a country that didn't exist before 1900

A very close one this time. Canada and Kosovo were the best answers, both only answered 3 times. Israel and Australia were mentioned twice. Marcovdw answered Belgium, which may be an irrelevant country in every single way, but it already exists since 1830.
Spoiler
Canada 3
Kosovo 3
Israel 2
Australia 2
USSR 1
Belgium 1
Palau 1
South Sudan 1
Serbia 1
South Africa 1

A perfect round was set by jseadog 1, with 28 points. SN came 2nd with 27 points, 1 point behind that we find bbl and lakebeach. TMM and fjhoekie both achieve their desired 5-pointer.

Yeah, I do. Not all rounds will be history. I just chose these empires because otherwise everyone would choose the current monarch. Not all rounds will be history though.
