Oh come on.. when Wiggins was leading Dauphine, I clearly remember comments that he should give everything there because winning the Dauphine would be better than anything he could achieve on the Tour. (I couldn't resist going back and taking a look: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_389292) Even yourself posted that a Top 10 would probably satisfy him, honestly I don't see that as "bigger things" you say we could see potential for
Actually some comments from that thread are pretty fun to read now Kinda like the 55 MO that Wiggo had in the PCM08 Official Release (at least in the demo DB )
Yeah definitely, the 2011 Wiggo version pre-Vuelta I didn't believe he would win Tour at all. His 3rd place at Vuelta with no prep races after breaking the collarbone made me think he had a chance of Top 3 at least. However his preparation over winter, plus very strong pre-season form made me think there was going to be destruction at Tour coming from Sky with Froome at Wiggo's hand ( and it happened as well ).
You are so naive Alakagom, but i get it with all that stuff Sky is sending you.

I would think that the broken leg will be the hardest to recover from and yeah being 33 makes it hard to see him coming back to anywhere near full strength.

Well, Sagan has not doping written all over him and his team, but yeah, sorry for being so offensive, i am just still over-suspicious.

What ? Did you read my last post ?
Pre - Vuelta, I don't think Wiggins would win Tour at all. Post - Vuelta he stood a good chance, as he shown that even in his first race back he did well in unsuited climbs to him. Post - winter 2012 (as well post PN ) I thought along Froome Sky would smash it. Not that hard to understand I hope

Stop all the quoting people
But well, then that goes along with issoisso's point - we only saw TdF winning potential in Sky after Leinders got in (post-2011 Vuelta).

Then again, Wiggins got fourth in 2010.
Don't know when exactly Leinders got in but if he got in right before the Vuelta, that is a bit suspicious ofcourse.

Leinders was hired mid-season, before the Vuelta. When exactly is not known.

4th? In what? I'm confused.

I meant we only saw potential post the Vuelta

Can Armstrong keep that result? If not, Wiggins was even 3rd back then!

But weren't you just saying:

As we've discussed many times before, it was specifically the team's stage racing core. 4 specific riders

Yes, so ? First point, I made mistake in dates. It should be " Already in 2011... bigger things in 2012 ''
There was massive improvement in 2011 from 2010 season. However even 2011 season and it's massive improvement didn't lead me to believe Tour would be won easily, however it made me sure that especially Froome potential could lead to bigger things ( and Wiggins getting Top 3 in Tour )
It's the Winter Prep and the early races in 2012 that made me absolutely sure that Sky would be a force at Tour.
P.S. I think we're just digging a a pointless hole here, especially with me mixing dates which makes it all confusing
