Yes in a sneaky move the mafia won, with ryant the mastermind. The godfather notices trekbmc's cryptic posts indicating his doctor-ness and that he had faith in him as a townie, and used it against him. Daringly, he attempted to kill himself not once, but twice, and succeeded in getting himself saved by the foolish trekbmc and fooling trek into thinking Aquarius was the godfather.
Seriously though, a clutch move from trekbmc in the end to secure the town victory and oust Aquarius97 as the godfather. Congratulations to everyone in the town for a hard-earned win. You had it easy at the start, found it strangely tough in the middle but somehow solved it in the end thanks to the work of the doctor. Chapeau to Aquarius97 for a well-played game as the godfather, as Bikex said he blended in perfectly to the town and brushed aside any suspicion with ease, and especially he did well considering he was the only really active (wsf did die early) mafioso.

Wait, Selwink was gunsmith? That could've saved us some trouble, although better none than one to the wrong person. Were any guns handed out?
Thank you very much for the game Jandal and congrats to all the townies! First time I've been on the winning side (also makes Raziz the only player to lose all 3 games, while BBL has won all 3 so far (did Ian participate in the first? If so, him too)).

Btw, Bikex, while your post was great, you missed one small detail that is based on how i played also previous games.
Until i decided to try to lynch Selwink, in the 3 games i've played, i had never casted a vote for someone who wasn't a mafia member.
In Mafia IV, i only voted for trek the day he blew himself and raziz the day he was lynched, while in Mafia V i didn't even had the chance to vote for anyone before i was murdered.
So my lynching pattern has been the same as in the previous times i've played the game
Best player: Aquarius. Didnt played it perfectly but he hid himself well and ultimately was stopped only because of a doctor save (coming back to that later). It still surprised me that his lynch votes on his two mafia colleagues cleared him so much because ultimately they looked like weak lynches. It doesnt matter how early he voted against wsf because wsf was dead the second Ian claimed and everything else would have looked scummy and lynching the terrorist right before he blows himself up isnt saying a lot as well.
The Mafia: i cant compare it with all previous seasons but i was surprised how quiet the mafia chat was once i entered as guest host. Last season we were communicating way more.
The start: The town really lucked into the perfect situation at the start. Having the detective find a mafia member right away in the first night without any prior discussion is solely down to luck. Having the confused cop identified his role by then is even more perfect. I'm still no fan of double checking the same person in consecutive nights but in this case it worked out perfectly.
The town: Imo, the town played it quite badly. They relied on Ian to find the other mafia member he could find which might be a reasonable tactic if there were more members of the mafia he could detect but with just one of them alive that seems kinda pointless. At times i felt the town didnt even try hard to find the mafia as there was so little discussions ongoing. Did we even have a single day that lasted more than two pages?
My early reads (previous to hosting): I must admit my early mafia reads were bad. ryant and hillis were my day 1 suspects and i had trek down as either a town power role or a mafia member very early. Tended towards town power role but probably would have been convinced by a couple of bad posts that he might be mafia after all. Had a couple of good town allignment reads though.
Post of the season:

Well, since the mafia didn't kill TMM, they have revealed something critical about themselves - they are very clearly not townies. Since every townie would obviously want to kill TMM first.
Which brings me to why I chose to share it. As simple townie I can play with a bit of risk. In order to stay alive I need a bit us suspicion for the mafia to not kill me, because they'd be better off keeping suspicious people alive. However, if I were to be too suspicious, the town would lynch me and we would lose a townie. Even though I have no special role I would like to remain in the game as long as possible.
This is one of the most hilarious posts I've seen. You claim to be a simple townie and try to look suspicious so that the mafia doesn't kill you at night? Who should they kill instead? The doctor? Gunsmith? Detective? Mafia is a team game and you win with the town. If you draw a night kill to protect the more valuable power roles that is a good death and helps the town. Your previous posts already didnt look well but after this post you were my mafia read #1 despite the fact that i had access to the mafia chat at that point.
Hosting: thanks jandal for hosting the game once again. Despite not signing up due to time constraints i enjoyed it again to follow the game and spamming you with analysis and theories of the what happened. Thanks for that.
Doctor saves: previously you didnt announce who was saved by the doctor and i would really like to change back to the format. (Id also like to have those changes announced previous to the game). It basically confirms a player as pro-town which is too powerful in a game like this and imo was a main reason why Aquarius was beaten. It takes away the paranoia and i like the added confusion who was saved.
Also if anyone likes to comment on the ian-delayed-night-action situation, now is the time. Did i made the right call or do you disagree with the ruling?
Damn, Aquarius played that incredibly well!
I spent so long thinking it was Trek. Everything seemed like he was trying to hide a power role, which was true just not the one i thought.
I had ryant down as the Doctor instead, at least he was town.
I agree with knockout, Doctor saves shouldn't give the username. It too easily shifted the balance late in the game here. If it was just a save with no name, the Doctor knows who's Town but then has to try and convince others of that, whereas with the name there's no doubt and when you're down to just 4 or 5 people it halves the number of suspects.
Delayed-Action ruling: Good call. We have deadlines for a reason and as long as it's the same for everyone they have to be followed.
That also showed people relying too heavily on Ian to do the work to uncover the Mafia. Other town members could have made some claims and accusations, if not lynches. But it was really too quiet for me looking in as the Mafia were quite able to just pick off people knowing the Doctor was protecting Ian.
Guns could have changed that, not gving out any is a let down. Expecially when the Detective was so known, he could have had one just to speed things up on finding another mafia member and not allow them to blow up.
First, thanks for your words about how i played. I'll explain how the game went from my pov
From the moment jandal told me my role and that wsf and Raziz were my team-mates, i knew that i was screwed... Neither of them had been particulary active in the two previous games, so i had to create an strategy for the whole game, given that i would be almost alone.
The first night kill was sammy. As the game started with a night, there was no reason to kill anyone in concret, but wsf suggested to kill him in order to reduce the amount of discussion. Ironically, if he hadn't suggest him, i would have chosen Bikex. It might have saved me some troubles later
In the second night i made what's probably my only big mistake during all game. During the "lynch fight" between TMM and Ian in Day 1, i noticed a post of Ian, i had what in Spanish we say a "corazonada" (i don't know the word in English) about him having a key role. But as he was close to be lynched the previous day, i thought he might be lynched the next day and went for Croatia that night.
Wsf was obviously lynched when Ian turned out to be the detective, so we were down to two and a confirmed detective saved by doctor at the start of the next day. You can consider a mistake to try to kill Ian that night, but i wanted to know if the doctor was still alive, and i thought it would be better to have a safe in Day 2 than in Day 5.
Next day i killed Waghlon and as Marco pointed out, the reason was that he was a "confirmed" townie. I didn't continue with the trend trying to kill Trek, mostly because i feared to be investigated at some point and having to end the trend with him, which could have been suspicious. That day i was in the most critical moment of my game (before the last two days) when i was with 5 hours to the deadline with 2 lynch votes against 0 on anyone else, but i was able to turn things around and if only i had kept my lynch vote on Bikex he would have been lynched that day
So i decided to go with Jseadog, as he had barely talked, so there was nothing that the town would get from his death.
Then it was the day of Raziz blowing up. When i saw ryant's post voting him, i had to vote for him too, as i had previously talked about inactive players like Selwink or Bikex - when he hadn't really joined the game yet - so my vote would go in that direction. The thing was that i had to make sure that Raziz would bomb Ian in the process. Luckily i remembered that he is active in Discord, so i sent him there several messages asking him for blowing Ian in the moment he would have 3 lynch votes, including me. It was a close call, but he did it
I came back to the thing of killing the most likely town members according to the town, by killing Hillis. After a calm day of no lynching, i killed Marco. The reason for it? I'm not sure... Let's say that after he asked to be lynched, i just granted his wish...
We were left to five players at that point, and that day we got Selwink lynched, so we were only 4 players entering what was suppoused to be the final night.
But as you all know, the doctor (Trek) was still alive and saved ryant, which reduced my chances of winning the game to get Bikex lynched that day and avoid another doctor safe.
I got the first thing, but not the second, losing the game. And if you wonder why i chose again ryant in the final night, i actually did a coin flip to decide it
Who would be interested in another mafia game launching soon?
Reccomendations for changes, new roles (even joker/unaffiliated ones could be interesting) are welcome to be discussed here or with me
