Yep, it's nothing special, in the sense that those races are not linked (bar the fact that they're one week tours belonging to the World Tour).
The doublé is a bit awkward, it's two comparable wins, but calling it a doublé, well, why not after all. |

No it's cool. Let's add some more illustrious achievements!!
Alberto Contador did the Castilla y Leon - Pais Vasco - Giro - Vuelta quadriple in 2008!
He also did the Algarve, Pais Vasco, Tour de France triple in 2009 and the Algarve, Paris Nice, Castilla y Leon, Tour de France quadripple in 2010.
What a hero |

Ryder Hesjedal didn't start today. Maybe he wanted to save his form for the Giro after losing a bunxch of time yesterday.
Edit: and Nizzolo was last on the stage at 6:21 down. What happened to him. Not saying I'm surpised, just that he showed something in the prolouge that led me to believe he wouldn't be last in the TT.

On this current form Wiggins will have to be favourite for the Tour de France (that's if his collarbone holds out) |

You guys are overestimmating his climbing skills by judging it on the "mountains" of Romandie.

Don't forget Wiggins didn't just do the double today - he achieved a very historic triple (at least).
He (probably) became the first rider ever to do the PN/Romandie double wearing the British champion jersey with also the World Champion in his team the year after winning the Dauphine whilst riding a Pinarello in all three races.

Plus he's ginger, but I guess that might explain some of his success.
I'm very glad we've witnessed that. I very much doubt the future generations will ever see such a thing happening again. |

So, by the same logic, the 2006 Tour was won by Landis for all cycling fans?

Bert Grabsch was 5:30 down, that's a bigger shock imo |

Dont see why Nizzolo is surprising. As a sprinter, youd expect him to go well on a short flat prologue. And as a sprinter, youd expect him to be nowhere on a longer tough hilly TT.
Grabsch often seem to only be good at a certain time of time trial - long and flat.
And dont forget anyway, many riders wont have gone flat out, because theres no point - they just rode to get round and finish the race.

I tried to word it right with "I'm not surprised" and italisizing last. Sorry if you misunderstood.
And your right about Grabsch, but still I wouldn't expect him to be that far behind.
But I guess if they weren't really trying, than it's not that unexpected.

They are far back, but with guys like Szmyd and Pinot in top 10 (even Kreuziger ) it indicates that it was TT rather for the climbers.

I'm not a Schleck fan, but when you have a drug test come back positive and you blame it on steaks, and get convicted, and they take your palmares away, then that's what happened. Maybe we could have a pole about this, because I doubt that alll fans think that he fairly won the tour. And in comparison to the 06 tour, it was the same result wasn't it, and just saying it isn't brings on your bias of the matter.

Okay, no point to discuss it, when the majority probably thinks that Landis and Contador cases are similar and comparable .
