I didn't even remember I was here, what a surprise it was to run across Andorra
Mega mega preview, brilliant work Cunego! As a wildcard there's 0 pressure over results here, a Top15 from Machado, an elusive stage win from a breakaway, I'd be happy with those, but I hope mostly to see the team behave with the AI and be agressive and specially in the mountain stages to go in deep in the front, all for the fun here

Crazy good preview. Thanks a lot for that!
Quite unusual for my team, i have not a single wasted spot for XP or RD reasons but every rider has a purpose to be here.
Lopez as the obvious GC guy who hopefully chases KoM points too. Vosekalns and Moazemi as the #2 on mountains/hills, hopefully attacking from the very beginning. Egger, Sergis & Belgasem as versatile uphill support/attackers.
And then Liepins + Eislers as my budget GT sprint duo with bith of them having proved in the past that they can deliver results - especially once others struggle due to previous mountain stages.
Looking forward to this!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Great preview! For us Samolenkov will try to get on the podium during the flat stages, Chernetskiy is our man for the hilly stages, Kolesnikov is hoping to get another GT stage victory and Novikov is here for the General Rankings. The rest of the team will try to get in the BotD where ever possible and maybe KoM but that will be hard.

Not ideal to see Groenewegen at the front that early with Boom being leadout...obviously not the strongest but luckily he was able to then move behind the stronger EA Vesuvio train leading him to 3rd.
Still he was far too early in the wind for more.
Liepins and Van der Sanden already with more points than expected.
Congrats to Festina for a huge win here and thanks for a nice report. |

A surprising result! Congrats SotD
As expected, a rather uneventful stage for our guys. A little pity with the gap, as it makes it tougher to be in yellow after the TTT, but let's see how it develops.

Good start. For the first time since a long time we properly joined a break! And van der Sanden does what he was brought in for, doing the sprints when we don't have Kump here. Speaking of whom, vdS already close to the total points of Kump at La Vuelta I guess.

Great win for Stauff here!
I can see discussions about train surfing flame up again... But if the final stretch was downward sloping instead, I'm pretty sure the launch for Van der Lijke and Démare would have been perfect.
Nice to see this gap between the sprinters and the peloton, giving the punchy sprinters a real chance for yellow until stage 6.

Boom-shaka-mother-fucking-laka!
Andreas Stauff just doubles his points in one stage! Well, more than doubles it in fact...
This was by far the most important stage in which to do well, besides the GC stages. What a great way to open the stage with those massive points that is also included.
Quite interesting to have some points budgets for each rider within the team, and looking at riders such as Petit and Stauff underperforming. Small succeses to both Petit and now Stauff boost them into where I was expecting them to end up. Perfect start to the race!

Well at least we tried to put someone in the break - hopefully that continues, as I couldn't send a sprinter due to the need to use this race for XP
Hopefully Monsalve can fight for a lower top 10 here as he should on paper, although the Dauphine was worrying. Carthy should also have a good shot at the white jersey, although Lopez may prove too strong for him. Then it's up to the 5 guys with 70+ HIL to do some damage in the breaks (hopefully)!
Great preview cunego, and a great first report |

Lets agree to diagree. I like Liepins (and Eislers) as a 1-2 punch and think one podium can be expected. Although i expected it to come once riders like Nelson, Stauff or Bouhanni drop out.
But its great to have those crucial points - particularly as we have just seen how close to the drop zone we really are. Hopefully its not the last glimpse of success we see here

Strong leadouts by Puma and Vesuvio. It seems like headwind is the big favorite killer. Congrats to SotD; Stauff timed that very well.

It's rolling!
Must say I really feel this is the biggest race of the season, and I opened the stage thread with excitement. Thank you again for your great work, cunego59!
Very, very cool to see Yzeiraj being strong and initiating the breakaway. Really thought he had a shot at the KoM jersey when he won the first, but unfortunately he got tricked to react first on the final KoM sprint and the intermediate sprint. Hopefully we can continue to try for the breakaways, as it makes the stages much more entertaining for us
Massive win for Stauff and Festina, congratulations on that surprise, SotD! |

Perfect win for Stauff outta nowhere! Quiet day for us but it’s gonna be one of many. This race could be what sends us down a division if we’re not careful.

Sure. I see. That's how this will go. Goodbye Top 5.
At least we miraculously increased our chances at yellow tomorrow with that gap.

Samolenkov was faster than Van Der Lijke and Demare! Too bad it wasn't enough to get on the podium.

Not good. I was hoping Phinney could take some seconds on the hilly stages, not the other way around. Yellow after the TTT now looks close to impossible and the chamces are not great for yellow at all. Hopefully we can bounce back quickly.
Revenge for Demaré, congrats cio!
