Solid performance by Kiserlovski, I could dream for more but it would be asking for too much really, thanks for the report!

Exciting mountain top finish, but nothing for Carlsberg. Garby was anonymous. Just kind of there to slide into the top 20. I'd rather he have attacked early and cracked so hard he abandoned than watch him just sit there and get dropped. But I digress. Hopefully JJ is up for some fun on the next few stages, and Appo can redeem himself for stage 2.

Mmmmm... not the ideal stage for Kudus. Getting beaten by Monsalve is okay and wouldn't be really surprising, but Berhane too, and then losing the sprint again to Kwiatowski...
With the big gaps behind i guess fourth place in GC is kinda save, given that Kudus is one of the best puncheurs between the climbers. And probably fourth is his ceiling. He won't distance Kwiatkowski in the hills for sure, and it would need a bad day of Monsalve and Berhane in the final stage to get into the podium.
Happy with how the team worked today, taking care of the chase and setting the pace all climb, but it has also killed our chances at Team Standings and Ndayisenga GC hopes, without Kudus delivering. But we'll see how this finishes. Can't ask that much from the team given what Kudus did in ToME or the Criterium International show

That image of Kwiatkowski beating Kudus is exactly the same as last year.
I'm very happy with 3rd, we won this stage last year but with much stronger climbers in the field, seriously, 3rd is awesome and I'm happy that Bernas, Rabo and Kwiat all raced aggresively, even if it probably meant Rabottini didn't perform quite as well as he could've.
Last year we managed to really mess up these hill stages, but with some actual support this year, I still won't get my hopes up, but we are in a good spot to achieve our win goal.
Thanks for the awesome reporting Tamijo!

Vlasov defends his KoM nicely and DLC manages top 10, overall happy. Bring on the hills!

Nice to see Kwiatek positioned so well already. As basically always im cheering for him and he looks to be in a great position to attack. Go Netia!

Nothing relevant for the team in this stage. Hopefully Ndayisenga can take the second place in the U25 standings, probably the only thing we are fighting for right now, as Kudus has the U25 jersey and 4th GC place kinda secured

Happy with Juul-Jensen's performance there. I mean, I'm disappointed he couldn't hold Betancourt's wheel on a downhill and have a chance to win the stage, but in the end 4th is a solid result, and I'm happy he attacked. Now I want a podium from Appo and Another good stage for JJ to finish out this race.

Wow, really solid couple of days for WCC. Local fans going wild for Berhane on the mountain stage, 2nd to Monsalve is a good result. Even better with Carlos delivering victory on stage 4, Berhane defending his 2nd on GC, and building a solid team GC lead. More of the same please, don't let the good work to date go to waste boys! .

Kwiat is racing very nicely, I'm proud to see aggresive racing from him rather than the passive racing we often get. Unfortunately not too much reward for his efforts today, but he's trying and hopefully he keep fighting for that GC win on Stage 6, we'll see. 2nd place on the stage and now featuring in points and KOM competitions is some nice extra points.
Congrats Scorchio, really great race for you guys which is something great to see. Also just cool that Berhane and Kudus are in the top 4, if I didn't have a conflict of interest I'd want to see them succeed given it's in Eritrea. Thanks a lot as well Tamijo, really nice reporting!

Tremendous rides from the team! Absolutely stunning performance to make up for stage 2. Back then we went too early and blew up. This time, the whole team was on board and the timing was perfection.
Whenever I see winds, I get a little nervous with Appo, as his flat and backups aren't the best for his rider type. But with the team around him, he prevailed. The young domestiques splitting up the race and closing down the break, and the perfect leadout at the end.
What a pull by JJ! Absolutely phenomenal. I thought they were going too early again, but he just had enough in him. A great leadout by Kvist too, and Appo finishes it off by getting a ton of distance to Boivin. Textbook sprint for us. Exactly what we needed.
Appo getting a stage make this race a success, and Kvist in 6th as well only makes it an even better result. If JJ can do anything tomorrow like he did yesterday, that would only add to it.
Thanks for the terrific report!

Not too unhappy with that from Nacer. Hopefully he can hold onto that Points classification lead.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!
Hell yeah! Two stage wins in a row to finish out the race, and that is EXACTLY what I want to see from Juul-Maar. Attacking, attacking, and more attacking until he finally gets the leash to take the victory. No need to sit back and play the waiting game for a 5th place. Just go for it. And that's exactly what he did. Aggression usually pays off on these types of stages, and today we get our win. Extremely happy.
Once again a great performance by the team as well, with Stuyven actively following the coutnermoves to JJ and keeping everyone on their toes until who broke free for the final time. Awesome tactics, awesome execution.
So we come out of here with two stage wins, two more top 5's, a 6th place, Appo 3rd in the points classification, and some great teamwork practice and aggression that I just love seeing, whatever the result. Obviously no GC or jerseys means that points wise it won't be a huge haul, but that doesn't really matter to me right now. I'm just glad we were able to put it all together in multiple disciplines and have an impact on the race!
Thanks for the amazing reports Tamijo! I especially loved the local Eritrean history. And congrats to Repsol on the victory!

Well last year's edition was deifnitely better. Dall'Oste not as good as last year despite training. Senni losing silly time on silly places. Pelucchi not even close to a win. Moscon never really doing anything. It makes me wonder how Italy ever conquered Eritrea in the first place..
Thanks for all the great reports!

Congratz BBL and Aquarius! Awesome to see Kudus taking the win in the end, feel bad for Monsalve though. Also major thanks to Tamijo, great reports mate!
Kiserlovski moving up to 5th GC, brilliant! Consistency is key and once again he showed that, never super strong but always able to keep up with some of the best. Goal more than achieved

Honestly, before the stage i never thought Kudus had any chance of winning the race. Not even because of the 1-minute gap to riders like Monsalve and Berhane, who are pretty similar in a stage like this, but with Kwiatkowski already ahead in GC, well, it should have been an impossible mission.
Team effort has been absolutely fantastic all race, today with Barrio and Ndayisenga doing what was exactly needed in each moment, either covering attacks, pulling from the bunch or just sitting around Kudus at the end.
And Kudus... wow, no words for his performance today. A complete redemption from his collapse of last season, beating Betancourt, Yates and Talansky (all of them better puncheurs and sprinters) to get the needed bonus seconds to overtake Kwiatkowski
Ndayisenga getting the 2nd place in U25 and rising to 14th in GC, and with Barrio performing in this stage too, third place in the Team Standings. What a race!
Thanks Tamijo for the reports and to everyone for the congrats!
