Good day for Phinney to take an off day, as it probably won't affect the overall too much, but very unusual to see...
Great performance from Stoltz, though! Great to see him finally winning
Also 6th by Vlatos is OK. I would have hoped for better obviously, but it's just important that he is as high as possible, so he (hopefully) stays with the pack instead of dropping for no good reason - Which will probably still happen though.

Thanks guys
Second stage went quite well for me too. The leadout + MVS combo worked quite well and MVS was the fastest guy in the peloton. A bit of a shame that the last man standing was still ahead but i dont really mind as i wanted one stage win and a podium out of this and already got exactly that. I suspect that the firepower of Stoltz would have improved the chasing efforts if he wasnt in yellow but im delighted that he could defend the jersey.
Congrats SotD - finally a Festina cobbler with an excellent result
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Solid sprint by Holst Enger, happy with that. Surprise win by Daniel, seems like luck have turned to Festina now, congratulations!
Very interested seeing how the key stage 3 will go now. Good to see no one loosing time on that flat stage, meaning it's anyone's chance for a top 5 or top 10. Really comes down to daily form, fingers crossed Paillot gets lucky |

Ha! That was certainly unexpected...
Tom David took a stagewin like that last year too (not the same race though), so nice to see his replacement being capable of that too. Also, French victory!
He won't get a good GC result of course, but that stagewin + pointwins will probably give him a 5th (or so) place in the pts competition also... Too bad, he wasn't a second faster in the prologue to take the leaders jersey from Stoltz

Good effort from Reguigui, unfortunately he was not able to take it to the final line but still it is a good attempt.
Silvestre disappoints again and Dennis finishing close to the front without any problem, now it is left to wait for a good day in the next stage

Good sprint by Havik, but that was a mess. Dissapointing Kristoff cant do better in such a field

Wow, superb result! Well done, Danacik! If he can stay in the main field in the last stage then this race is a way bigger success than I have hoped for!
Big thanks for all those reports, Aquarius!

Guess this 8th place for Hepburn is a fair result. Also 2nd in team's classification proves our depth. A pity though that we could not place Dennis or Dempster in a higher position. Archbold with a solid result, but it looks like he sucked in the prologue. Anyway, if Hepburn keeps his Top-10 and Howard starts to show, why we signed him instead of buying Goss and not wasting money on Morton's training, I will be happy for here

Happy that Durbridge has had a decent TT and prologue to be in 6th in the GC, unfortunately for us, there was quite a large disparity between Durbridge and the rest of our riders but I hope we can do something in the last stage, but time will tell. It costs us 0 points anyway!
Shame to see Dennis really struggle here as well tbh

Great result here!
In the past, Vlatos have struggled to survive that final stage, though, and after seeing him fuck up the GC in Qatar, I would be surprised if he didn't do it again here...
But the mix up in results is great for Maxime Daniel in the point competition.

Wow, that was sensationally bad, I think
There has definitely not been many signs this will be a lucky season for us, and that stage only underlines that, I feel
Phinney crushing it was expected, but also a pity to see Fiedler way below his expected level. Congratulations on the win, Also surprisingly strong results from Vlatos and Kittel to grab second and third, which will make for a surprise podium here if they hold on on the final stage. |

That's a pretty big "if" though. Last season he managed to stick to the front, while a couple of similar-stat riders dropped, but in 2016 he was dropped by 3'30" together with Kittel.
So for me it's all about hoping that the small +2HI training I gave him will be enough for him to scrape through. Honestly, though, I have a gut feeling saying that he will not make it. We have had a good amount of luck and strong results in this race, and it usually stops in the hardest possible way in the end. But we could surely need those points!

The wrong stage to have an off day for our TT-riders
Lets see if the last stage can brin some more luck!

Nothing of note so far for us. Only the random breakaway or the occasional good performance from Avelino to hope for in the last stage.
Congrats jt and SotD for the triumphs

It is a bit disappointing to miss the place in the top10. How could it not be a bad day and lose everything and this race will be more of a disaster for the team
