Exactly what I hoped for. Seems like Sütterlin had a good day and potentially utilized favorable weather conditions in the latter part of that TT.
Congrats to Porto-Prio! 3 seconds on everyone is a lot.

Pretty decent start with three riders top 21. Not a stunning prologue from Martin, but okay-ish, I guess.
Lost some seconds on most of our rivals of course, most notably Robert Gesink, but at least he didn't get the leaders jersey, so it shouldn't affect the first hilly stage too much.
Now a couple of slow days for us in the sprints. With only six riders, I don't really expect any riders going in the break, but feel free, guys!

Seemed like the conditions only got better throughout that prologue. Fair enough, must mean Paillot saves his luck for later this season
In such a sprint field, I'm hopeful Holst Enger can do something here before we hit the GC stages. Fingers crossed! |

Great win for Porto... Not claiming they are in relegation danger by any means, but if they were to get close, these 60 points or so, that Leung will land will be very valuable

I hoped for slightly more but fourth is still okay. Its quite hilarious how a team that had the fourth placed guy sits in dead last position in the team ranlings and it aint even close.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Not much to see here. Canty/Dyball as to expected our best performers, Morton somewhat lame, but okay.. Howard needs to be at his game now.

Thanks, cio!
@SotD: agreed, 90%! I was hoping for a white jersey today, but getting hold of the stage, yellow and green is a massive boost indeed, especially from a rider who's not a leader. The 10% is that I believe we are in relegation danger anyway.
It's going to be tough to remain in yellow though. Silvestre, Enger and Groenewegen are in striking distance to name just a few.
Gesink with a strong first day, Watch out for him!

Good start to the race for the team, it could only have been better if Gesink had reached the victory.
Gesink in 2nd place is a good indication of what might be to come, winning a few seconds to the other favorites is always good. Especially the 10sec earned at Schleck may not look like a lot but as I predict a fairly tight race any second win or lose can make a difference.
Silvestre and Van Windem also had positive performance especially Silvestre who seems to give good indications for the next two stages where in case he can reach at least second place he can jump to the lead of the race.
Congrats to our friends from Porto a very nice victory

With two Top-10 finishes during the first two stages at Qatar Porsev started his season pretty good, let's see if he can repeat that the next two days!

Great result for Ciccone! Top5 in a PT stage race! Surpsisingly good day for him.
Olivier with the expected loss. Now I need him to ride aggressive on the uphill stages. |

Like what?? Are you guys kidding me? Watson does a sh**t in G-D and Morton pulls the peloton just to get dropped on an easy flat stage??? Well, screw this day and race. That's not even funny anymore. Useless crap.
Howard not winning as to be expected. Thanks for the report anyway!

That`s how you sprint! Groenewegen showing Swift how to do it!
Hofstetter-Bauhaus. What better train could you imagine.
Great job by the whole team with Olivier working as well, which is handy to avoid a time loss by being in the front.
Hard for Morton, who clearly wasn`t.
And happy for SN to see Van der Lijke is joining sprints as well! Training well worth it by the look of this early one now.
Thanks for the report and 2nd stage win of the season. |

Ouch, feel sorry for tsmoha, as Morton apparently hasn't learnt a lot from last season's bad luck.
Very nice to see Holst Enger pick a good wheel and challenge even for the stage win! Fourth is good, and great to see Guldhammer up there too towards the end to stay safe.
Curious to see how the next stage plays out. If the sprinters are given a chance, I think Holst Enger can do well, at least better than most "flat sprinters", but surely van der Lijke must be the favourite for that finish, no matter how the final kilometers are raced. |

Happy with 3rd on the stage, can't complain about being beaten by Groenewegen and Howard on that finish. Quite an unconventional way of getting there though!
Always a risk of seeing Schleck waste energy when it became evident that Van der Lijke was a potential top 3 favourite. Not ideal, but the race suited both too much to consider only sending one.
Good that the makeshift leadout kept him reasonably well placed, relying on the flat power of Kneisky and Mraouni here. Does bode well for future stages too.
Sucks about Morton though, not happy seeing that.

Ouch, not the way I wanted to get a gap on Morton. That's tough luck for tsmoha. Great to see Korsaeth in the break and taking bonus seconds. A pity that he couldn't keep up with the peloton though, could have been some valuable points. Good performance from the team nevertheless, with Martin safe and also Stake Laengen and Iturria in with the bunch.
Congrats to roturn on the win, good to see that the Aegon boys remembered how to sprint after coming back from the heat in Qatar

The bad feel continues... Chamorro losing a lot of time here, effectively reducing his chances of a 15-17th spot to absolutely nothing, and Vasyliv being almost caught behind aswell, but saved by the "gong-gong"...
Emerson Santos doesn't even try. Atleast Bar did, without proving anything.
Now we know that this setup is not good at all... The season will be long!
