Not even a hint of a mention of Nelson in the sprint, and he comes to nothing. Oh well, was just a sideshowing to our main objective here with Talansky. Good to see De Boss out on the attack, by far our most prolific breakaway attempter this season

Tough to see Rolland out of the race and the likes of Pinot and Marquez losing a lot of time.
Zardini losing 6 minutes isn't ideal as I hoped he'd have a go for a decent GC but it does mean he can now support VDB. Good to see Mollema getting in the breakaway. Hopefully Cornu wins tomorrow and takes the leaders jersey as I'd like to see my team try control that final stage as there are other teams that will not be able to do so.

I suppose the positive thing to take from this is that most of my best climbers lost enough time to make it easier for them to get in the break.

KoM and youth jersey after the first stage. Yay! Some unexpected points, so very happy with that. Not that happy with most of our "climbers" losing time, but I would be surprised if they would have been able to get inside the top 50 in GC anyway, so that's fine enough.
Always a pity to see riders crash out of the race...

Looks like Appo picked the wrong line and kind of got shut out, otherwise we might have had a podium. Still, I enjoy his consistency in scoring points this season so far, so 6th will do fine in the end.
Glad Contador and Garby at least made it through unscathed, although that still doesn't mean much for their chances at a top 20.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Úran not involved in the crash and near the front gives me hope. Manarelli is having a shocker of a season so far, and he's scheduled to lead the sprints in more races...

A bit strange to see so many lose time on a flat profile like this on the very first race day. Was it the crash doing all that troubles?
Great sprint setup from team SPAR, paying out. Congratulations

Oh wow...decent Stage normally, but I sense Brändle being the captain...and no mention of white jersey favourite Potocki loosing 3 minutes is sad...

@Tamijo Both the crash and the super-high rhythm all-day made lots of riders to be dropped from the bunch. And if PCM wasn't so permissive on flat stages splits, the first group shouldn't have been bigger than 50-60 riders, but with lots of riders exploding and going slow over the line, there were no splits in the top100.
@Croatia Tbh, that might be something i have to improve in my reports, as in most of the races the U25 fight is mixed with the GC, but in this one, the U25 jersey fight should take place way behind the GC fight, so i obviously didn't notice about it

Kiserlovski's first outing for Kraftwerk, safe home in stage 1, need him to limit his losses in stage 2 and be in the mix on the mountain stage.

No problem Still hope Potocki can come back to take it, but I believe less in it.
I very much appreciate the effort you (and all other current reporters) take to continue the tremendous pace of this season!

Congrats to Spar on the win! Good to see Moser finishing 70th as one of the best sprinters in the race, top performance from him.

Good stage for us. Serebriakov bothering with the sprint is already a victory in itself, and Duarte seems quite good as well so far

Great performance by Duarte again. Beating almost all GC riders and doing well in the GC. Let's just hope for a PCM10 mountain sprint stage

Our former rider Steensen with a sensational ride. Impressive to beat Cornu here, congrats on the win bbl!
Dempster scoring points, so relatively happy. Atkins also making sure we're clinging on the youth jersey, so a very good start to the race. Now just hope for another break on the final stage.

Storming ride from Kiserlovski, only 21 seconds off the lead and a good chance to improve on his 14th place tomorrow.
Congrats to BBL for the win.

Impressive ride by Steensen and solid from Paillot as well as a somewhat surprising top 10 from Samoilev.
Now for Samoilev and Faglum Karlsson to make a small GC miracle with Lehtinen/Henttala/Hasta in the break.
