Gratz to Ian, if the botd had to win I'm glad that the botd stage win went to his team.. they needed that one. His team fighting the good fight and being rewarded there quite generously with three leader jerseys. This should be a GC win in the bag if nothing bad happens.
For Strava it was ok race. Langeveld definitely with a good stage but we left it too long open and now the gap to Van Asbroeck and the likes is too little. Baugnies should have also got some time advantage which didn't happen bc he didn't do anything at all. The hunt for the break probably killed attacking riding... Also too bad that Van Asbroeck got rewarded s.t. as Baugnies despite the reported gap, this puts all cobblerz under pressure to maintain position.
Maybe we can create some havoc in crosswinds and the remaining hilly parts and still usurp the lead. It'll be exciting to see how the cobblez / Van der Sande-mix works out tho.
Thanks for report J7

A little surprised to see one of the weaker cobblers in the break take the win there, seeing that group I felt quite confident about Chatarunga's chances but it wasn't to be. Also strange to see Petit dropped while Laporte finished in the main group, but can't complain - hopefully he can take a top 15 on the basis of stage placings from here. |

Good start by Gatto, guess we've to be stisfied he finished in the same group like e.g. Baugnies. And the race still has the potential to turn out much better than last year. Though I'm a little worried about the big gaps. Will there be bunch sprints or will the remaining stages be won by breakaways?

4 riders in the top 25 do not mind if we do for a race we're we not suppose to really score big this could be a big win! |

Weird first stage. Very selective pack, but the BOTD was never challenged! Mesmerising result for Biondo. Congrats Ian! The GC is very much in grasp for you now.
I was hoping to have Ferreira in the mix for a top10, but that's out of the window. Sprint stage might still be worthwile.

We had the team for it, but we just gave up and let Eritel ruin the sprint, Sobota, our main lead-out. not even in the top 100 isn't the best.
Not much else to say, congrats Ollfardh and thanks Jandal for another great report!

Very nice win from Van Asbroeck, we needed that one! Biondo has the GC unless something goes horribly wrong, but that second place doesn't seem too far off now.
Thanks Jandal!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thrilling stage and final sprint. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole report. At some point it looked like Eritel would take an outstanding result, but in the end Van Asbonkers strength prevailed.
Nice appearance from Avelino in the podium. A couple of results like this may get us a good result

What a terrible showing from Zepuntke on stage 1... Beaten by Zabel ffs!
Dieteren on stage 2 however, so close. He would've deserved that victory to be honest

Good from Petit, he always tends to go well in those more jumbled up sprints due to his flat stat so hopefully this can continue. Does make him being dropped on Stage 1 more frustrating though, as otherwise he'd be on for a solid top 10 here with bonus seconds.
Also good to see another one of our Sri Lankan talents in the break, long may it continue. With 10 of them on the team, it's good to see them giving us a chance to score points instead of only being an investment for the future. |

Sad things a) Machado didn't realize that there are ranking points awarded for the top50 and b) Gatto didn't join the sprint as he's same timed as the 7th in GC...
At least Appollonio gave us something to cheer about. Good finishing by the young Italian, wonder what he can do when he's already in the front rows when the fun starts.

Surprised that the first stage wasn't more selective than it was, but good to see Vastaranta doing well and evn somehow managing to climb on stage 2 despite not sprinting.

Vantomme crashing, held up alright but must've lost some lead-out men (not letting Sobota off the hook though ) PCM might've also decided the hillier finish meant Bernas did the lead-out who's a good man but we need someone with better SP between him and Vantomme, still 7th is alright, now onto stuffing up the next two chances!
Congrats on the win Margh and thanks again jandal!

A non-stage for us, can't believe we went for Cerny when we have a better sprinter who's good in GC..

Cerny was just incidental, he'd been trying to reel in Baugnies and found himself in the mix.
