A lot of quality sprinters here of course.
Wold be nice seeing a great train from our neighbours with Kristoff finish Holst Engers leadout.
Also nice if Greig-Eftel could get some much needed results here! |

This startlist reminds why I gave up investing on sprinters after my first Pro Tour season.

I'm predicting Bewley just to edge Swift. I'm looking for Roelandts to try to edge into that top 10, but I'm not hopeful, that field is stacked!

I'll settle for some top ten results from Boeckmans. I'm hoping that acceleration cam really help to push him ahead of some of some of the 81 and 82 sprint guys.
My money is on Bewley, but I expect a couple of other riders to win stages too.

Ehmmm. anybody knows why i have not sent a single TT rider here or Ignatiev beast? Probably first of many planning mistakes from me this year, get used to it.
But i have two mediocre sprinters! So one or two top 10s with Grosu would be great.
Good luck to all, Swift -Bewley are my favourites.

@Avin: You have Smowz predo curse I predict PT Team win and you sub-conciously do bad race planning! Honestly though the chrono at end is cluster, probably not worth sweating over.
The other thing I noted from last year just expecting flat beast to echelon doesn't work. AL pulls for protected riders - if it believes no realistic sprinter shot at podium then lets just spin quietly.

I'm pretty sure you've done well because of unique system of getting bonus seconds here. Strong sprint/prologue combo might work well though.

Ahh, of course, now i remember why i have done that, because of bonus seconds system and i have decided to send guys like Zmorka rather to stage races where they wont be expected, to dominate TT, like Pais Vasco or Tirreno and GT.
So dont worry, no mistake, actually a genius move.

First sprinters battle of the PT. To be honest I expect Bewley to win everything he enter so my money is obviously on him. Though Swift will always be dangerous on the flat

Top field of sprinters, obviously. Will be interesting to see who'll come out on top.
Sprinters with a decent PR stat should have the edge for the overall ranking but plenty of chances for the pure sprinters to gain time with the many mass sprints and boni seconds. |

I expect only one thing. To be dissapointed. On paper I have a decent team, in reality I lave the top sprinter, I also have a rather poor team here, so could well be caught out on echelons.

Following Badaling's logic Malori, Gusev or Vorobev will easily win this one!

Possibly the first time ever that we don't have a Top 3 sprinter, so I fear I cannot expect us to set up a train regularly.
Not sending Demare here doesn't help with that, but using 6 of his race days on a race without a single metre of elevation gain didn't seem like a good idea either.
Still, if the game recognizes the great flat stats of my leadouts Blythe -> Lander -> Bar, we might get lucky.
The final TT definitely doesn't suit Ciolek at all, on the other hand Sütterlin could go for a good result there, hopefully he's not gonna be a casualty of echelons earlier. If there are significant echelons, I should at least be able to count on great FL elsewhere.
A couple of stage podiums leading to a solid Top 5-8 overall for Ciolek combined with a Top 15-20 for Sütterlin who can maybe challenge for white would be my goals here to continue the Badaling success.

I don't think I'll ever understand my team.
Thanks for the report sgdanny!

Well I got a time bonus! Pleased really that Cav was involved, no way of competing with sprint trains here, fantastic to see 4 formed.
Pokerstars pull off real coup to take first stage and all to play for in big Swift/Bewley blow out. Also very thrilling to see pretty much all the best sprinters together in one race creates a real best of the best feel to this race. Best sprint train wins!
Can I also say that Goss is Guerao of this years PT - nice work tsmoha
Also Pendlefluke at it again as breakaway rider Fenn stays in the peloton as they look to gain their usual random dice roll points.

Good start. Surprisingly, we did set up a train, and even more surprisingly, Lander kept up incredibly well with Mohs and Howard.
Best of the rest in fourth for Ciolek and a well-deserved white jersey for Lander is promising.

Nice try by Nolf, shame he was dead after following Fenn, who was very strong.
Grosu 13th is a bit disappointing, but maybe just realistic in such a field, the pan flat course is not his strenght and at least he tries, unlike some Goss - Coquard no shows...
Thanks for the report sgdanny, maybe i would be for some overhead shots of the trains, because it is very hard to observe the situation only from the front shots.
Congrats beagle!

Brilliant start, exactly what I wanted to see!
After previous experiences from last season I had big doubts about possible cooperation between Mohs/Degenkolb, but it could work very well. Hopefully, after Degenkolb´s training in off-season, Erik Mohs will accept his new role in team and help to bring a lot of joy to our team like he did today
Thanks sgdanny for great report, looking forward to next one!

Good start from Guarnieri. Had hoped he could get a top five with his positioning, but just wasn't meant to be. More of this, please.

No sprint train for Swift is disappointing.
Van Der Sanden and Boom in top20 prove they would have been capable to create one plus Sbaragli, Berger in the peloton.
Must have been because of Vantomme's +5 day I think.
Podium in this field behind two world class sprinters is not a bad start though but has room to improve as well.
Thanks for the report and looking forward to the next. |
