We're always looking forward to trips to Australia, even more if it is for Pro Tour honours. To appreciate the wildcard we made an early call to send Di Maggio knowing it might be a tough loss not to let him race in China.
Guess Patrick Lane would be well-received as he had recent success in Portugal and Italy. He'll be busy as our promo-guy, but'll find time to enjoy his home race for sure.

Seeing that small hill just before finish of stage 1, I´m afraid it wasn´t the best idea to send my sprint train full of hill haters here.
Good luck to everyone!

Ufff, big result for Volskwagen but what could have been if he just won.. at least closes the gap to Bacardi.
Stage 2 should be epic.

That's a promising first stage for us, especially as Boasson Hagen showed he's alert and close to the front, in addition to Kristoff's 5th place.
It all comes down to the next stage and how our captain does compared to Ponzi and maybe even Ignatiev if he's seen as Metinvest's GC guy here, considering fifth place overall. Thinking of the race isolated, it will obviously be a key to gap the strong TTers with as much as possible. Fingers crossed for a good stage thinking of the AI.
It should be a thrilling one considering the fights for the overall title and to avoid relegation. Zabel's second place must be a nice surprise for Heine, clearly they're far from giving up.
And then there's the uncertainty around Gastauer/Vesuvio for such a stage as well. If AI decides to make Vesuvio an inactive team there, Coppel could very well turn the tables consdering the TT.
Thanks for the report, trekbmc, but definitely looking even more forward for that second stage! |

Bittersweet there.
Holloway close to getting a nice win really - but encouragement again that this guy is worth sticking with. I will certainly take a podium after several false sprint results this year.
Skiddypants losing time is a pain - would have hoped for a decent GC with him.

A lot of work for a poor result. We needed better having one of the stage favorites.
I doubt we will have a good race at this point.

Thank you for the report, trekbmc.
Great to see Boasson Hagen take that win!
Feared the worst when they had 30 seconds on the huge peloton with 6 kilometers left, but he and Gastauer made the most of it.
Speaking of Gastauer, he could very well have decided the PT title right there, which feels kind of special, seeing a Luxembourgian claim the needed points for Vesuvio. Congratulations, SN! |

If any TT'er will win the race then it is going to be Ignatiev, as he seems to be able to attack on the right moments.
Nice guess, i like it, given the results of stage 2
But i will be happy even with 3rd, behind Trofimov and Bobridge, both are also strong against the clock.
Great stage from Ignatiev, i love the season he is having, all that gutsy attacks and keeping up with much better puncheurs several times, behind Pluchkin the best of the rest from Metinvest for sure. This can secure us 4th place in the rankings, even when AKER is having good race with EBH, congrats on the stage win.
Thanks for the nice reports trek!
And congrats to Vesuvio, title is theirs most likely?

Thanks, Avin! Though, I have hopes Boasson Hagen can deliver us the GC win as well, keeping Ignatiev, Bobridge and Trofimov behind.
Looking at last season's results from the same TT, he only lost 21 seconds to Trofimov and 1'06 to stage winner Coppel. Though, admittedly TTs this year aren't quite the same, so I'm far from comfortable he'll take the overall win, but at least I have hope |

Bye-bye PT win. Gastauer puts the final nail in the coffin. If Coppel had managed to stay with Ignatiev, then I would have had a shot at taking a better GC than Vesuvio, but more than 2 minutes down on a 15km TT. Not going to happen.
Tzortzakis was shit on stage 1, Pichon failed to stay ahead on stage 2, and now to see Coppel fuck up the final TT, to make a great race.

True indeed, i somehow forgot that this hilly beast is also 70+ in time trial.
So i change our planned GC results with Igantiev to top5, instead of podium, checking the TT stats of all the guys near the front. Given the random nature of PCM 14 TTs, anything can happen.

I think those 20 bonus seconds might be enough for Hagen but you never know, Ignatiev on a good day can win tomorrow and take those 20 bonus seconds back on Hagen, so "all" he needs are 58 seconds!

Thanks for the info-graphics Oleg!
All is set up for the thrilling last stage in 2015 PT, i think anyone from the group EBH-Trofimov-Bobridge-Schumacher-Ignatiev can finish at any place in the GC top5. Even Roche can have some chance with great day. RNG for the win

Coppel are also within that 2'22 btw. Just for those interested in the top TT'ers in that "area". Other interesting TT guys that could fight for a top 10-15:
Tony Martin
Jesse Sergant
Tim Dees

I imagine this is not going to be worth very much for us post-TT but maybe Dees can pull something out of the bag. Ignatiev v Trofimov v Bobridge v Hagen should be really interesting.

TVG needed to make a move and did. Can't complain about that.
We also could get a bunch of depth points as well from Fothen and Fraile. So, overall, good enough. Hopefully TVG doesn't drop to far in GC in the ITT while Fothen and and Fraile move up.

Things didn't start too good with Durbridge dropped...
..but then Bobridge somehow appeared at the front This is definitely a great stage result and with a good day in the TT, we can actually achieve a big result in the GC! Don't think it's possible to win, but maybe Bobridge can beat some guys ahead. Ignatiev a pain in the a** though Still, should make for a good result!
