Round 1 - Classic Cycling
1) Name a winner of Bordeaux-Paris
It was pretty much Herman Van Springel or nothing with the 7x winner being comfortably the most popular pick with 15! Three other riders were still mentioned more than once:
Spoiler 15x Herman Van Springel
4x Jacques Anquetil
3x George Pilkington Mills
2x Tom Simpson
1x Jean Noret
1x Paul Chocque
2) Name a winner of Zuri-Metzgete
Again we had a stand out winner. The last mant to win the race was the most popular choice with 14 picks, Samuel Sanchez. Six time race winner Heiri Suter was picked 4 times.
Spoiler 14x Samuel Sanchez
4x Heiri Suter
3x Paolo Bettini
1x Eddy Merckx
1x Fabian Lienhard
1x Henri Rheinwald
1x Leo Amberg
3) Name a pre-WWII Giro d'Italia winner
Alfredo Binda takes the popular choice this round with 11 picks, but it was a lot closer to second placed Gino Bartali with 7 picks. Shockingly every rider mentioned was in fact an Italian!
Spoiler 11x Alfredo Binda
7x Gino Bartali
4x Fausto Coppi
3x Luigi Ganna
1x Gaetano Belloni
4) Name a pre-WWII Tour de France King of the Mountains
The only man to win both sides of the war Gino Bartali was the most popular choice in the entire round with 17 picks! Not even coming close was the competitions first winner Vicente Trueba with 4 picks. jihardy makes the first incorrect call of the game with Maurice Garin.
Spoiler 17x Gino Bartali
4x Vicente Trueba
1x Rene Vietto
1x Felicien Vervaecke
1x Maurice Garin
1x Rene Pottier
1x Julian Berrendero
5) Name a Mens Road Race for Amateurs host city
This question caused some confusion but most of you still got a correct answer. 1924 host Paris was most popular with 10 picks. jseadog1, pylarz, Atlantius, emre99, knockout, selwink, cycleman123 and jihardy all record incorrect answers whilst The Schleck Fan gives no answer at all.
Spoiler 10x Paris
6x Copenhagen
2x Duitama
1x Crete
1x Trento
1x Berlin
1x Hamburg
1x Milan
1x Houston
1x Zurich
So this round has a stand out winner in FroomeDog99 who scored a perfect round of 67 points! Congrats to you. Bikex is not far behind with 63 ahead of a bunch of people in the 50's. matt17br scored horribly with only 14 points, with TheManxMissile goes right back to his 5 scoring ways. Of course this is also the overall rankings for now.

How the actual hell did a 6 time winner from all before the war lose.
Definitely disappointing for me.

I thought that everybody would have picked the first winner of every race. At least there's someone worse than me, thank you TMM

That was lucky. I had to google all those answers due to my lack of historical knowledge so to score a perfect round is very suprising. |

Happy to see I was decent without using google at all, especially considering my cycling history is very poor. |

That last one surprised me. My answer was correct though as Trento hosted the amateur world championships only last year.
Sanctioned by the UCI with rainbow jerseys and all
Guess I just wasn't with stupid on that one...

@Atlantius - There's a difference between the amateur worlds and the mens road race for amateurs. Another clue should be that last year is hardly Classic cycling
1) Name a Studio Ghibli feature film
2) Name something Cobie Smulders has been in
3) Name a cycling movie
4) Name something Peter Berg directed
5) Name a character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer that isn't Buffy Summers
Deadline is 21:00 BST Thursday 25th September, roughly 4 days from now.

Same for me. I can only answer one of them without having to use Google or Wiki
Vincenzo Nibali - Rui Costa - Nairo Quintana - Alberto Contador - Peter Sagan
WDshirts
The Last of the Real
- Story about Dries Deckers - racing against Merckx, de Vlaeminck etc.
