One plus point - having a sprinter meant we had riders at the front.
So some hope for our outside GC guy Juul Jenson to do a good GC.
Another plus point was that I have zero expectations for my sprinters this year (hence why I got rid of two good ones). Sprint AI looks a bit screwy in pcm2104 at the moment too.
Once again though a windy day ruins what may have been a nice sprint chance for Santos. Cannot complain too much this is a hilly race so this stage was a chance of the fast finishing strong hilly types.
Thanks for the reports roturn once again.

Thanks, Rich. Appreciate another day in front, especially since it's probably over after the next stage |

Nice to get a very surprising stage win, was delighted to Samiolev in the break and certainly thought he could have chances if given enough rope. Huge day for him and made the race for the team where a stage win was the maximum goal for this race.
Pokerstars in great position here - this sort of race can be a bit of a lottery, beagle has got his two prize juicy balls out for everyone to see.

What a great defense (despite the loss of the jersey) by Valverde. Didn't expect him to hang on on a climb like this, but no one seemed capable of setting a high pace to drop him and other semi-favourites.
Loved seeing Samoilev win. You can certainly live long on a breakaway win like that. |

I´m really excited, it´s first time in my MG history when my rider is leading in such kind of race!! However my bet is still Trofimov. Thanks for reports, roturn!

Great stage and great report. So far this race has been pretty exciting, except for those daily crashes/punctures.
Brilliant victory from Branislav. It's always good to see a former Energie-Diesel rider triumph. I'd love to see my current boys following that trend at some point.
Thanks for the great work roturn

Very interesting stage 2 and 3
It's kind of a relief to see Boasson Hagen proves to be one of the strongest favourites on stage 3, but he'll still need quite a lot more time, and I've a hard time seeing him pull that of on the two coming stages thinking of his recovery.
And a big thank you, roturn for the fast pace of the reports! And a brilliant breakaway win for Smowz, congratulations |

Agreed.
Van der Hugenhaben in 100th place on a stage that perfectly suits him (a tougher hilly stage)...

Decent race for me so far.
LLS doing what he is expected to do.
Gomez Marchante showed better form on that climb. But far off.
Roux abandon sucks.
My talents doing okay.
But why nobody joins the breakaways in more or less any race. In especially when not having big favourites in most races, those would give the needed points.
Regarding the reporting pace. I might struggle on the next two days actually. Had to play/report immediately without much of a time span before. With todays Germany - France game and a family event tomorrow I probably won`t have a report up every day.

GC; 10th, 5th, 4th... Getting closer to that sponsorgoal! Go Yuri Go
Btw so stage 6 was changed to ITT, ITT probably will have bigger time differences than a TTT would. Might even be better (for Tinkoff) although I send a strong Hill/TT team for support

It wasn`t changed. It was always a´n ITT. tsmoha made a mistake in his preview as he thought it`s a TTT.
So stage 4 is out. Stage 5 probable not before Sunday/Monday as said above. |

Finally got internet again! Our providers did an "update" which made me loose net for a week...
This race looked really great, Flügel looked good in the GC after the first stage, and then we had Klemme in the front group... Suddenly Flügel punctured and it didn't look that good anymore :-p

Unlucky Boasson Hagen not getting some seconds in that sprint, as there looked to be a gap.
A bit worrying to see him distanced by Schumacher on the last kilometers, hope he can prove a bit better on stage 5
Thanks for another report! Trofimov and Taaramäe look to be favourites for the GC, but stage 5 should make someone struggle. |

At some point I am going to have to assess why Marc Christian Garby has been dropped early and finished behind in every stage he's raced this year, even the flat ones. But for now that can be B&O's problem.
