it's just a nice, easy way to communicate in a manner that doesn't clutter up the forums with unnecessary banter.
This.
I'm just more comfortable of clicking the "tweet" button than posting here when it comes to things noone needs to know, but might lead to a nice little discussion.
This way, it bonds the participating managers a bit more than through the forum, and I can say things "publicly" that occupy my mind.
Tbh I am really enjoying it. We have our small discussions, which you don't get in HQ's. It's quite fun at the moment, yeah the level of interest might go down later in season, but for now, during the most fun part of MG for many - it's really enjoyable.

Last season there was high interest at the start of the season only as we had live tickers for races there.
Then we stopped that and it came down to some few comments.
But as CountArach plans to do more live tickers next season and the same with me I think it is a great fun addition.

So what do people think the odds should be that more than, say, three managers will be regularly tweeting come the mid-point of the season.
30-1? 40-1?
Again.. if you don't like some ways of communication between the managers, why comment? A bit too negative in my opinion, but maybe that's just my opinion, right?
Do agree with ANFreeman here.
I'm just not really a fan of this sort of next level stuff with people trying to make the game what it's not. The whole deal with pretending that "rumors" are going around with transfers, or having twitter accounts...it just strikes me as childish.
You I think were one of the few to see my little back and forth with Avin in my team thread (I asked Pelli to remove it, and he was nice enough to oblige), and although I was perhaps a little harsh, my point is simple. This game is awesome because it takes a lot of skill and effort to build a good team, and then you get to watch it play out with all the luck which in inherent in a game that is as flawed as PCM. It really doesn't need that extra layer, and frankly I find it, well, childish is really the right word, so I'll use it again here. It belies the actual difficulty and skill involved, and also what makes the game fun.
And of course no matter how harsh I was, Avin saying that I clearly didn't actually enjoy the Man-Game because of my refusal to play along and that he wishes someone who did had gotten in instead of me is just about the pinnacle of childishness.
And you know what, as just a general fuck him, here's the PM he sent me about the matter. Does anyone think this is justified?
I see all the off-topics we spoke about in your team thread are deleted now, does some admin deleted it for you? Maybe it would be nice to ask me before it got deleted, it was my posts also in the end.
But smart move, now no one can see what kind of a person you can be and what you think about the man-game in fact.
Cheers,
Avin
Anyway, I'm sure SN will tell me to back off a little bit, and I probably deserve it, but seriously dude, chill the fuck out.
EDIT: This isn't to say I'm opposed to the twitter accounts or fake rumors, whatever floats your boat. I'm just saying I don't really think they're that interesting or want to be involved in them. If you want to deal with me in the transfer market, deal with me like an actual person.

I haven't read the PM so don't know what he said but publishing will probably make him only more mad and will not stop your discussion. And discussion is not the point of the ManGame ;-)

Frankly after he decided to take potshots at me in my own Team HQ thread and then got mad at me for having them deleted, I'm not very inclined to care about how he'd feel about the matter.

Actually I think these rumours are wanted by the Man-Game admins.
Otherwise the game would be very lame/boring without any real action rather then just having 2 parts with transfer threads in the transfer season just bidding on riders and then just the thread for the race reports.
That would be bonking just looking at pictures of someone else simulated races..
Plus with these rumours I can plan a lot better knowing which rider I can sell (Ciolek for example or Gil or Schwab) and which riders I could get (not Vanendert).
Just for the rumours/transfer talking at the Teams HQs. Not the twitter part as I am not sure about it just yet.

Should have clarified. Having all this transfer chatter is absolutely fine, and I'm a big fan of it for all the reasons you mentioned. It's the ploy of having "media reports say blah" that kind of bugs me.

Yes, i believe it is more or less an important part of the game, as you said.
But, talking about transfer rumors on twitter makes no sense at all (and i assume that this is going on, seeing as some people post their tweets in this forum) if not everyone is on twitter. And as we cant be forced join, transfer rumors dont belong on twitter but in the Team HQ's...

If you plan to tweet 'transfer hints', make sure they are posted in the team hqs aswell!
