Btw. Quintana is indeed pathetic, like 99% of colobians he peaked when aged 22-24 and than is just going worse and worse. He will be done for WT at 30...

Seems like they gave Thomas same fuel used for Froome, He is solid from early races like never...
they were ready for the B plan...

I hope all teams ally against Sky, like attacking full gas on flat stages when Froome or Thomas takes a pee break or has a mechanical problem.
That is the only way they can still win.

probs to Martin tho, the only one that dares to attack Sky on the climbs
shame it was just more off a benefit to Sky than to him
Roglic & Kruijswijk looking good so far and with Kruijswijk 3rd week usuall being his best who knows where he can end up

I don't understand what some guys expect from Quintana. It was a 5,8 % summit today that perfectly suited the diesels.
You can start hating in case he doesn't deliver tomorrow or in the third week but not on a 5,8 % climb.
I don't think he will win the tour because this years parcours doesn't suit him. But I wouldn't write him of just yet. |

That's true, but he lost 32 seconds to Dan Martin.. Quintana didn't have his A game today

I agree with you. I'm not a big fan of him either. I think today he just missed to jump on Froomes backwheel. Imo he didn't look weak.
He has never been more or less than a pure climber who can beat anybody on the steep climbs. |

And which parcours suit him, there are almost no TT kilometres to speak about in this years Tour, only pan flat stages and hard mountains.
also he was distanced yesterday on 9-10% slopes, no on the flatter section.

You are right Ringo but I dont know why but somehow I expected also sth different. Maybe because of the fact that Froome was in the Giro and won the Giro. I expected Quintana to be in top form, considering he did not race too much prior to the Tour and Tour de France was his primary and solely objective. I also expected that Richie Porte will at least stay with SKY (Thomas, Froome) easily, following wheels. I expected also that Bardet will be flying in the mountains.
And now I am only left frustrated because once again I expected too much.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
