A reward for roturn having to deal with this AI...and the third stage win we should've gotten
I totally can't complain though, Kelderman lived up to his favourite role throughout the whole race, always attacking first or second as well as keeping great speed after the attack.
Moreover, Demare with a top 5 I didn't expect looking at the profile.
All the way back when I looked at the calendar the first time, I was certain this could be a race for him to shine, and he does!
A top 5 in the final sprint would likely be enough to even win green, but I won't be mad if he doesn't accomplish that because he already showed great consistency.
Now for a crash- and split-free last stage, please!

Well, Rabie not nabbing a stage win is very disappointing. I'm so sick and tired of fighting for scraps this year - and it's not like we have a team that's not good at anything other than scraps.
Craven out of GC contention because of a puncture/crash/whatever really sucks. There's not much of a reason why he shouldn't have been in the top 5, let alone top 10.
Sometimes I feel like we've really been cut a raw deal in terms of under-performance. Craven is probably the epitome this year. He's only had 2 (maybe 3) reasonable races.

AMEX-Navigon rides a smart and conservative 7th stage.
Oliver Le Gac is in 8th (no change)
Ian Boswell is in 17th (up 1 spot)
Dieter Mehr-Wenige is in 19th (Up 3 spots)
Fabio Taborre is in 36th (no change)
Points - Taborre is 7th
KOM - Taborre is 1st
U25 - Le Gac is 3rd and Boswell is 4th
Team - 1st
With just a single flat stage remaining the team looks ready to finish off the best tour of the season.

Perfect stage for us win Ben Nasser sticking with his rivals to secure the GC, bar a crash on the final day. This race has really been great for us and I can't wait to see the rankings now.
Now for a final Impey stage win please! |

Really a pity that PCM is not really checking team strength for sprint trains but only the strenght of the individual sprinter.
Sbaragli-Krieger-Groenewegen should be a much stronger train here. So it`s bad positioning for Groenewegen and a top10 only.
Okay. At times PCM seems to take team strength as well. But I take it back that Sbaragli-Krieger-Groenewegen is a good combo. |

The fuck happened to Drapac there? Completely collapsed at the end. Other than that, good race for us. Stage win and GC podium are certainly not too shabby. Thanks for the good pace Roturn!

I feel as those that tried to hang on the high speed trains collapsed towards the end.
Drapac, Gavazzi and Manarelli spent too much to make it to the trains. |

For me this was was a bad race. Might be because the rest of the season was so overwhelming but I expected more from LLS in a crunch race like this.
The pressure is on him to get the big points in Canada. Otherwise, my hopes for promotion rest on Geschke and that is something I do not want to see

When we make a leadout train we're pretty good at it, just that it never happens. Nelson gets a very rare win, he's having a good final couple of months it seems (hope for Paris-Tours?). Great work from the boys, the overpriced Fisher did a perfect job and the overpriced Greipel was pretty beast.
Still a pretty sh*t race though. Barely saw us (and with the pink bikes that is quite an achievment) and nothing at all in terms of GC or KoM or Points or anything. We're goin down down down

Noooo, Minnard lost his GC in the final hilly stage.
Glad that despite all the shenanigans going on Kangert still managed a 6th place in GC. With Aegon scoring so well this tour could've turned into a disaster, but the damage is limited. Still, our PpRD has definitely taken a hit and I suspect that Kenya might have rejoined the title race. We probably did outscore Bpost though, so that's the good news.
Curious what the rankings look like now. This is going to become tense I think.
Thanks for swiftly taking over the reporting duty roturn. And congrats FD! Ben Nasser is a strong rider, so not strange that he won this.

With that 15th in GC, Roy shows signs of life! He doubles his season's points tally. Strangely I feel almost satisfied with that place, but only because he has been so terrible so often.
Manarelli tried, but got blown down. A great CT rider, but with one top 10 this season, which was a good one, he hasn't cut the mustard.

Thanks for doing for the race Roturn in great time to boot. Nice to see you had some success therefore. Bazzana was a bit much though! A big GC win for Kenya Air, doing their promotion campaign no harm. |

Great final stage as Impey finishes 2nd and Ben Nasser 8th to steal the points jersey! GC win, 2 stages and the points makes this a huge race for us in our promotion fight. I'm much more happy about our position in the top 5 now.
Thanks for the reports roturn. |

The stage win alone made this race a success so we really can't have any complaints. In an ideal world we would have been higher up GC but I'll happily swap that for the Stage win.

Huge race for Kenya. To Puma as well. The combos Ben Nasser + Impey and Kelderman + Demare really were profitable here!

Good effort from Haas, really didn't have any other option on that last stage.
It was a decent race for us, picking up some points here and there, but not anything to brag about after the team waited for Olsson.
Congrats to FroomeDog, and thanks for the reports, roturn

Yeah sure. Demare top 10s in nearly every possible (and some impossible) stage, just not in the one he's supposed to.
To make it worse, Ben Nasser does.
Nevertheless, congratulations to Kenya of course! You need luck in this game, and they had it.
Oh well, overall I think we still outscored Kenya (and massively outscored Evonik) thanks to a great consistent team effort, so we should be in a great place in the rankings now. This was certainly one of the highest scoring races for us this season.
Finally a big thanks to roturn for picking up that race! Great work with the reports and with not delaying the race.

AMEX-Navigon holds the tour together and has the best tour race of the season amassing over 200 bady needed points.
Two unlikely stars lead the way Oliver Le Gac and Fabio Taborre. Both got podium stage finishes along the way and Taborre also won the KOM. Ian Boswell and Dieter Mehr-Wenige were solid, but it was consistency and depth that made this a tour to remember for AMEX.
Next up the Canadian two day hilly race in Quebec and Montreal.

With the last stage we finally have some pictures to prove we were here. Disastrous race, even worse than expected.
Gratz to Kenya Airways and thanks for reporting, roturn!
