Size of the population is irrelevant. What matters is having a base that can support older populations. This means that what really matters is not gross size, but realtive size of different age groups. Without this base, economies slow, then stop, then shrink because there is no-one to pay in to social services. Industrial and post industrial economies experience this because women in these countries are better educated and have better access to contraceptives, and enter the work place at higher rates. Therefore they have fewer children.
Here are a few examples of what it looks like.
South Korea
Japan
and the US

however it is strangely satisfying to look at the members list sorted by posts and seeing almost only those man-game links in blue above me. well CrueTrue, issoisso, Guido Mukk and Addy291 kinda ruin it but still
note: actual numbers may be off, counting them took a long time
I will never let this happen. Thank you for alerting me. now I fight back.

I used to think i was a spammer. But somehow in like a week or 2 you made up a 100 post gap on a guy who averages 7(1) a day,
Wow. I just can't bring myself to match that.

Demographic transition, interesting stuff..
In general I believe the issue (illegal immigration, not male/female ratio ) is not as big as it's made out to be. Taking measures to do something doesn't produce a worthy benefit. In places like the Northeast I can't be too sure though

stop flattering me please . it was a 40 post gap closed within 10 days, taking into account I have average 11 post a day, exactly within the line of mathematical expectation. math is fun |

One day I will surpass all of you, as I have no intentions of leaving here anytime soon. With the amount of initiatives I have now and upcoming, there will be a ton of posts coming by me. I used to spam alot, but now I only post 5-6 times a day, and I have not made a cycling or story related post in at least 7 months...
Sometimes I wonder why am I here if I have almost no interest in cycling from September - March every year
In all seriousness, that is too big of a gap to come back on as of now, but a few years from now who knows where I might stand, maybe in the Top 10 of the site

I'm going to start a new contest: PCM.Daily's favourite football team
I'll only wait for Pcm.dailys favourite musical artist contest. At least I hope that it will finish, since Mitch isn't around from a while

But I didn't suddenly disappear.
You could do something really, really random though. Favourite brand of milk, e.g.

Yeah
I know, my idea was something like favourite automotive brand or favourite car. But I'll look for something very original.

The problem may arise when the aforementioned contest wins

I'd win that too easily.
How about PCM.daily's favourite cereal?
Or favourite retro team or something.
