One thing I don't think anyone's mentioned about the TT specialists is their value for TTTs. Those do not bring much ranking points to that particular rider, but can do so for the team - particularly in stage races where the TTT is a key part.
However...

From every point of view every manager would rather want Reus in their team than Sergent, especially if they are going to want a similar wage in renewals as I believe OVL is still going to be a biggest factor in the decision how big wage the rider will want. The value of similar riders like Sergent - Durbridge, Yatsevich, Kittel or even Ford is IMO still too high than is their value in MG in reality. Riders like these are never going to win any stage race with at least one stage other than flat, while riders like Reus, Kangert, Boom or Koren at least have some chance and so their value is in my opinion surely higher than the value of riders only for 'one stage' like Sergent or especially Ford. I believe it would be great, if the TT specialistion part of calculation could take more into the account MO/HIL of riders.
... is a very fair point. The TT specialism was being a bit too dominated by the TT stat, and I will revise that a little.

Is there a chance for the "training eligible" column to be added again for the "final" DB after it seems to have been removed?
It will be there, it just wasn't an immediate priority for me in getting this DB out. Plus it is faster for me to do when I've finished adding new riders.
Did have to laugh at your post moaning about the Overall being almost higher than the max stat of a rider, and then going straight on to ask why the name was changed from Average to Overall. Completely missing the point Never mind the fact that it is pointless to base anything on the RD values, which are no more than a crude esimation and not at all final.

I kinda realized after posting which is why I added that paragraph, but for some reasons (possibly sleep-related) I didn't connect these two thoughts in my mind

Cool to see v3 already, overall for the majority of riders looks much more reasonable, thanks for the work SN and ggDonovan, Zmorka is not even my 2nd best rider.
He is still high though, with only quality being pure TT power, but this was mentioned a lot of times here and good to here that there will be some possible further revision.
I like the certain FA stat change.

I'm not sure this is the best place to ask, but I found an issue (on my PC) when going through the DB and decided to develop a few talents.
In the 2013 and 2014 statgain, I have a problem, as shown below. How can I solve this?

You can work out what the values should be from the colour of the cells.
I'll make sure that the 2015 version has no such issues.

I was waiting for the answer and the solution is pretty obvious... I feel quite dumb right now... xD

Had the same thing with the stagain file using open office...
Took the Excel Viewer to solve the problem.

^^ I've had the same problem crop up using Excel - just copied and pasted between versions to provide temporary fix, but guess there must be a better solution; SN obviously better in a spreadsheet than I am (not hard)!

So for the second year in a row, I'm unable to run the overall/average macro in my OpenOffice.
While last year it didn't really matter because the formula was easy to remember, I obviously need a way to fix it this time around...help for how to get it to work would be greatly appreciated.
Funny how such a widespread issue as the one with the stat gain file never was discussed, I had it too.

Can anybody eventually tell me or make a screenshot of my team?
Won't be able to check for yet another week.
Is there any big ovl change for my leaders?
Thanks a lot in advance. |

It won't really tell you much though roturn, besides the relative positions in your team - as in general all riders have a higher OVL than AVG, at the moment.

Well you don't want to run the macro at the moment, as that will not apply the updated Overall values. Once fully implemented, the new system is actually generated by formulas rather than macros, so that won't be a problem for you at all.

Thanks a lot for the image.
What about training actually? With higher OVL it would cost a lot more to train. Which is not necessarily bad. But would be good to know. |

As with everything that depended on AVG, it will be adjusted to the new OVL system. Training was something that needed looking at anyway, with making it cost more probably being a priority!
The level of the OVL stat will be slightly lower for all riders in the next DB release though - to help ease the transition from old to new for any easily confused managers.

Thank you.
I only did what you said in your OP though
If you change the stats of any rider, and want to see how that affects their Overall stat, then you can hold down "CTRL + SHIFT + O". This recalculates the Overall stat for the entire DB. You will need to have Macros enabled.

That text refers to v1 of the DB, and so yes, the Macro would uptdate it for the first version of the Overall stat.
You'll note that I did not include that text in the v3 release post, when the improved Overall stat was released.

To be fair though, the way you posted that didn't really give away that whatever text was left out in that in comparison to the v1 post is now void.
Which is nit-picking now

v4: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ot0caifo3x...4.xls?dl=0
Overall has been slightly altered. e.g. Reus now higher than Sergent with pure TTers lower, Sprinters slightly higher up, Cobbled riders slightly lower.
No new riders this time.

Scrolling through my team, I see that Delage has 66 RD while Bontenackels, who is on a lower overall, has 62.
Same with Giaux (62) compared to Herklotz/Declerq/Sütterlin (59).
