Been away for the last days, but I've been quite happy about this race. TVG winning a stage, leading for 2 days and seems to loose podium by just 1 second is quite a good race from him

5th was the aim and succeeded. Good job by De Bie and the others. Gallopin being the luxury domestique that I was hoping to get.
Van der Poel already showing good skills as well but unfortunately got unlucky with todays late catch. So close.
Congrats to Hugo Boss and the other successful teams and most important, thanks for some nice reports. |

Quite an intense stage in the end! Good to see Bakelants being alert and all the way up in 6th place. A good race for us in the end, even though we'll probably be outscored by both Ponzi and EBH.
Thanks for the reports!

Congrats to Ponzi! Very happy to see Van Staeyen and Vantomme as 1 and 2 in that last stage

All in all, I guess Felline's 16th place makes up for Kelderman points-wise, but I won't forgive that completely unnecessary time loss on stage 2 that ends up meaning 10th for Wilco instead of 8th, which would be much closer to his abilities. No stage results at all also doesn't bode well, but I guess if he wants yet another pay cut, go ahead.
The unquestionably positive sides of this race: 4th in the teams classification for 10 free points there, and a point for young Sagiv as 8th in the U25.
Hugo Boss with a great start to live up to their preview expectations, with probably most of the Top 10 being happy about their results (disregarding that they all could've won Grand-Duché instead, but that one is on you ).
Thanks Tamijo for taking good care of yet another early season race!

A stage win concludes a pretty solid race for me. Loved the echelon attempt and by the pictures and logic i assume that Evonik once again was at least partly responsible for it but sadly the gap wasnt large enough to be counted. The pics inside the final km strongly suggest that this was the right decision as there were riders all over the place. Could have earned me lots of additional points as 5 of the 6 riders directly ahead of Van Stayen were caught behind and also Smirnovs, De Vreese and Dzamastagic would probably have made a bigger jump.
I loved the picture with three strong leadout trains with Dzamastagic, LN Hansen and Dakteris at the front. Three of my darlings with a strong job for their leaders.
Congrats to all jersey winners and thanks for some nice reports. Especially thanks for mentioning which riders were chasing at the front of the peloton. Thats much appreciated
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Well. 6th for Bobridge ain't overwhelming, had hoped for a Top 5. Not a disaster at least, but of course we need better results with Morton not enjoying his trip to France these days..
Phelan winning the KoM ist great stuff though! One of our long time team members, who hardly picks up good results. That's cool to see then.
Thanks for the great reports!

My team went through this race completely invisibly, yet Vogt in 20th and McEvoy in 27th has to be considered quite good.
The difference of points for some of our opponents in the fight for maintenance begins to get too big and begins to be worrying.
Congrats to Hugo Boss, Ponzi deserve the win... And thanks once again for the report Tamijo

Not so easy for Afewerki today but makes his earlier victory all the sweeter. Just as well the gaps weren't awarded as a silly way to lose out - although it could probably have helped Reimer. As said previously, happy with 26th for him.
Ponzi joins Frank Schleck on two Tirreno wins. Generally a GC order that makes sense, obviously with Sagan down on where he should have been. 5th is nice for De Bie, proving to have been a good training option for Aegon.

That concludes a great race for us! Thanks guys
1st in GC, 2nd in points, best team, 23th, 30th and 42th in GC makes this a solid start! Really pleased with the season so far, and Alarcon haven't even begun racing yet!
Congratz to the other successfull teams aswell. Feel bad for Sagan though as he should definetely have been up there.
Thanks for the great reports! Now give me more hills

Hmm, weird leadout try from us, I feel, with Dakteris, Scully and Ciolek all ending up sprinting for themselves Fun to see though, and we got away with it with a decent stage result in third for Ciolek. We didn't get the stage win we hoped for with him, but at least we were up there in both sprints.
Beltran getting dropped, but then regaining contact made for very nervous reading towards the end there, but nice to see him recover and finish inside the top 10. Hopefully a sign for a better season in general this season, as this was better than most of his 2017 results, and that was without both EBH and TvG in the division.
Congratulations to both knockout on the stage win, but especially to dev for the overall win! |

Happy to see the echelon nullified, unhappy to see Avelino be irrelevant in the sprint again. Claeys in 13th is very resonable I guess. I wonder if sending Borges here could have been more rewarding.
Anyway congratrs KO, and congrats dev. Title bid has been launched, especially with the Sagan blunder.
Thanks for all the reports Tamijo!

24th by Van der Hugenhaben isn't quite what we need to stay afloat, so we need him to up his game in the future...
Also I would have liked to see a stronger Tzortzakis here, but he clearly got into the wind too soon to get a good result.
Congrats to Hugo, Air France and T-Mobile who all come away with great results.

Considering the very strong lineup I should be content with 8th. Kangert 22nd and two others in top 40 is ok too. Then there's 2nd in teams classification and 4th in KoM; all nice bonuses. We just need to score a bit more from stages.
Congrats dev!

7th here is quite amazing for Boswell. Seems to love this race after taking a stage win here a couple of seasons back.
Maybe it was him who would have been the better training option instead of Danny van Poppel, but I kind of got scared of his potential avg and the money he might be asking after 81 hill training. And there's the 2 year age difference and the nationality.
Thanks for the reports

Been away for the past week or two, so I'm on late on this - but just wanted to express some appreciation for EBH who came back strong with two stage wins and a podium finish. It's always helpful to criticize the riders in public Oleg Tinkov-style. |
