It's not his own world it's how cycling world works. Has been like this for over 50 years. Many palmares' from historical top riders would look completely different if not for sums of money exchanged.

Yes but I was more refering to the Henao bit there that it would make a difference for Sergio. Which is pretty strange thinking tbh.

What does Henao make? I'd guess around 600k a year. 2 months of pay doesn't stack up to an olympic title indeed.

And then also 2019 MTB's in Canada, 19 BMX in Zolder, 20 BMX in Houston, 20 Track in Berlin. Junior Track every 2 years at UCI's velodrome in Aigle.
Had to keep this bit separate for no real reason

Wow almost 40 years since Leicester in 70. Good that they get it and reward the cycling enthusiasm of the folk on the island. I imagine the roads and towns will be super-super crowded.

There was Goodwood in the 80s as well, but still 30 year wait at least.
There will be no issues with heat either for the UCI to deal with

As Hoyle said we had Goodwood in '82 (Saronni - LeMond - Kelly). And way back there was Liverpool in '22 when it was an Amateur event (and 2nd ever official Worlds). Long time indeed for a Worlds visit, but considering the relative lack of big names in UK cycling until the 21st century can't be too surprised.
All you've got to do is look at the Tour of Britain to get an idea of the crowds, then i'd say triple that. It won't be Grand Depart scale but it will be in with a fair shout at 7 digit attendence. Safe to say i'm pretty excited and can't wait till the route rumors appear.

Yorkshire Worlds is very well deserved; potential for a very good and selective route and an insane amount of spectators. Well, basically the opposite of the farce going on in Qatar...
Edit: Now, watch them tailor-make a route for Cav to be triple WC after winning in Qatar to retire in the jersey |

UCI making sizable changes to the Track Cycling calendar:
- Womens Madison added, to bring parity between the male and female programms.
- Omnium shortened from 6 to 4 events, all mass start and all on one day.
- The Flying Lap and Pursuit have been cut, and a Tempo Race added
- Individual Sprint increased from 24 to 28
- The Kilo, 500m and Team Pursuit Qualis will be contested by two at the same time (like Individual pursuit)
- A First Round added to Team Sprint to bring them in line with Olympics set-up
- Keirin rules clarrified on "Overtaking the pacer"
- Keirin sprint extended to 3 laps from 2
- Clarrification on false starts in various events as well
- Madison points now matches Points Race

Now this is interesting, a huge fucking shame nothing will come out of it as usual
“This summer we had a very strange experience in the Tour de France,” Varjas told the interviewer Ger Gilroy. “I was there with the LeMonds, with Kathy and Greg. They came, the Gendarmerie, to interrogate me. I asked them if they really wanted to grab the people using the motors. They said ‘yes, we are ready to fight against it. We want to grab the people who use it.’
"So I just told them what they need to do. They said they would do it. They went to make this kind of check, but the UCI refused to allow them to check the bikes."
ofc

Will be surprised if the route doesn't pass through either York or Harrogate, so I should be there. Though I graduate in 2018, so maybe I'll have fled the UK by then |

I am wondering why all dopers hunters like Kimmage and Walsh etc. have drop their weapons when british team started a winning.
They was after Lance when most of the world was mocking them with Lance. Now they wont see something suspicious and unrealistic? |
