Again not surprised, but this time not entirely disappointed. At least we did something, and Serebriakov showed he's not totally worthless even at C1. First glance of good hopes for him this season.

Decent sprint from Docker, BUT WHY ON EARTH DO YOU GET IN THE BREAKS AND THEN DROP OFF, WATSON????? Jesus fucking christ.
Edit: On the other hand, nice to see that Impey didn't get any bonus seconds.

Two fantastic starts for Matysiak and Zielinski, where Lejman can secure Top 10 tomorrow First CT team to come in Top 10 and now first to win a stage in C1

Too bad Reimer could not hang on in stage 3, but pleased with another podium in stage 4 this time from Jensen
Now I am off to Norway until Sunday not sure I can log on before Sunday evening, will be interesting to come back if that's the case

Nice to see us back in a position were a Di Maggio win at Willunga Hill will (most likely) seal the GC, too. This scenario would make it a lot easier to ignore the six wasted Oscar Gatto racedays.
And it's nice to see the race with excitement despite three breakaway victories in a row. Will be up early for the next one!

Really frustrating there, Impey could really have done with those extra 20 bonuses to take him away from Di Maggio and Pozzatto. Now got to hope he only loses 20 seconds to them on Willunga and claws that back with a win on the last stage.
Still looking good for a top 5 GC though and we also have the lead in both the King of the Mountains and Points, which should bring some nice extra points. |

Betted for Di Maggio becvause he is the strongest puncher. But Impey-Reimer-Pozzato trio was brilliant in stage 1.But I still think Di Maggio will win the race |

Great effort by Smirnovs. It's always nice to see the own riders in the break and Smirnovs can capitalize this time makes it a bit better even. I especially like that he now has a good position in the minor classification (expecially U25) so if he can follow up with some good performances on the next days then this will bring another small amount of points.
I have one question though: What is Geschke doing? Finishing dead last in the peleton? I really, really hope that he tries something on Willunga or the last stage, otherwise this are wasted RDs for him
Congratz to Fablok! Getting a C1 stage win must be very cool for a new CT team!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

And so it was missed our best chance of victory. It's amazing how this happens so much in this PCM14.
After all I am glad the team has tried to bring the best possible result for Haussler and McEvoy have managed to climb to the top 10, I hope he can keep this place at the end of the next stage and also that Vakoc can climb in the rankings

Well Di Faggio is going to take Wllunga methinks, crappy breaks though Impey arguably deserves some bonifications there.
It is an interesting experiment with bonifications in Qatar, a spread here may have been interesting.

Bit odd stages so far, but Di Maggio definetely takes back the favourite-stamp after that succesfull attack. I do think Pozzato can finish on the podium aswell with a decent effort on Willunga hill but it will be really close. Enjoyed the watching the race in a neutral point of view, Hopefully willunga won't be a letdown!

Another successful early break, but this time it's actually in our favour; denying Impey bonifications.
Hoping for a spectacular Willunga stage tomorrow. Plenty of room for changes in GC.

Seemed like an easy defense of the jersey on stage 4 as the sprinter teams happy to keep the break in check (somewhat). Probably does delNero/Klemme good that the sprinters missed out on bonuses. What will Wilunga Hill bring us tomorow?!
Continued thanks to Roturn for the great pace and detail of reporting - appreciated.

I understand you might be busy during your stay in Norway, but you do make it sound like you're going to a developing country though, cause that's about what I usually write when I'm heading out in the Mongolian countryside and don't know where to find internet
About the race; really bad co-operation among the sprinter teams to not reel the breakaway in. If Matthews could have got those bonus seconds, we would maybe get some points from this race
Thanks for the great pace roturn! |
