Two races left to go in the season, Kigali GP and Japan Cup. Here's how things are looking.
A four way fight for the title going into the month, and Grieg quickly set about establishing a lead with Wisniowski winning the PTHC Lisbon Classic. Hagen may not have made it a double on that day, but they now have a commanding a 189 point lead.
UBS title fight came crashing down in East Java as Amador suffered a dud race, they slip from 1st to 4th. Reasonable scoring from Berg and Isostar puts them on the podium.
Fablok have the momentum in the batte for 5th, now moving to within 14 points of Ferrero. Newton, Orange and Indosat all within 100 points of that final promotion position though!
Indosat the top scorers of the month so far, one of many teams aiming for the Top 10 who went strong in Barbados. SPAR hold onto the final 10th spot, ahead of Eritel who took a long-awaited GC win in East java. Kraftwerk also on the up, to 12th, with Meiji and Generali losing out - for now.
Novatek's Emelia victory brings them into the Top 15, as Lierse slip down. Carlsberg stay 17th, while Euskatel swap with Minions, around Podium Ambition.
Netia remain in that last safe spot, and extended their advantage over 22nd with MOL struggling. Valio have been the top scorers amongst the bottom eleven teams, and while now 22nd, they still have a gap of 166 to make up. Ticos slip to 24th, with Compal and Haute Route bringing up the rear.

Great reading for us! Having such a big lead with both Wisniowski and Boasson Hagen still with a race left should mean that we get the title. Isostar perhaps the biggest threat, if they can get a win with Polanc and a win + depth in Japan, but we would be very disappointed if we lose that lead. EBH with the win in the individual standings is also great to see.
Looks like an epic fight for 5th place. Fablok will probably be disappointed, seeing as they should have overtaken Ferrerro with a normal performance from Mohs in Barbados.
Oh well. Not sure who races in Japan and not, but guessing Froome, Tejay etc will be there, so should be a heck of a fight.
Thanks for the update!

Go Isostar, and go Netia! Time for the strong finish for both...

Remember when Isostar was a team was going to relegate (despite being PCT leaders back then) around March/April? They might be safe now

Interesting fights at the top and bottom. It definitely looks like Amador crashing out of Java put us out of contention for the win, but there would be no way to beat Grieg anyway I believe. This will be a great finale, thank you for the update!

Surprised to stay 17th with the failure that has been October, but I'll take it. Happy that relegation looks to be staved off despite recent failures! That was our goal this year all the way and I think we pulled it off. Still two more races to ride though.

Hmmm....even with the points lost in East Java we go down. Thats sad, but point wise we overachieved anyway... |

Wow, Ferrero close to two back2back direct promotions. Naturally also very impressive stuff by Isostar with their back2back promos.
Perhaps b2b promotions are the rule nowadays and less the exception?

Thanks for the update!
Very tense times for us, we've got no races left and now will have to just watch Valio. who look like they definitely have a decent chance, Vastaranta is an interesting man in Kigali and Gautier is always a potential for top 5 or podium in Japan...
Promotion fight looks very exciting though and of course go Isostar for the podium!
I would be super angry too if I were you, imagine, Valio doing the 1-2-3 at Kigali, plus 4th in Japan Cup, while MOL also wins Japan, with a second guy on the podium and another in the top 6!
And that's even assuming you don't race any of the remaining days!

18th is a solid season by my standards. Will post a reply to the final rankings with my full thoughts of our season but I'm happy we've managed to steer clear of relegation fairly comfortably.

Well I need 166 points (plus whatever points you may score). That means we need to podium both the remaining races incl. at least one win.
So far in the cobbles we have only had success when Brynjolfsson won from the break.
Realistically looking at previous performances this season I'd say around 50-60 pts total is the most realistic output.

Hmm, looks like I misjudged it a bit, maybe I looked at the wrong points? I still think Vastaranta could overperform at Kigali and technically with a win in Japan, you'd only need a top 10 in Kigali, though you're right it seems hard unless Gautier happens to win Japan or you steal Kigali with a breakaway.

Hmm, a good Kigali and Japan Cup and we may even end up in the top 15. That's right people, I'm looking up, not down!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

2 pts in Kigali so now I just need a win and another rider in top 4 in the last race

Thanks for the update. The last top 10 place is going to be decided by a few points, I hope the Kigali result has not yet ruined this for us. |

Wouldn't 1st and 10th be enough?
Also, for Minions to 'bottle' it, 1st, 3rd and 6th in Japan for MOL, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 9th for Valio. Not looking good for the Minions.

Okay, a decent Barbados race had put us into 5th already and we have Froome for Japan Cup, so things are surely possible for us! Just a shame that we couldn't have been in a better position for this final race. Thrilling that it will be decided on the last RD though
