This wonderful preview and the report are being posted on behalf of AbhishekLFC
A race where the riders take it easy for 90% of the course and spring into the action for the final few kilometers. Well, almost! A race meant for the punchers, who will be hoping that their teams can chase down the inevitable breakaway to give them a fighting chance of taking the win in this race.
| Name | HIL | STA | RES | ACC | | Hagen | 85 | 81 | 74 | 79 | | Kinoshita | 81 | 80 | 77 | 77 | | Froome | 82 | 77 | 73 | 75 | | Di Maggio | 82 | 73 | 68 | 75 | | Gautier | 80 | 76 | 72 | 77 | | Flügel | 81 | 79 | 67 | 74 | | Betancourt | 80 | 72 | 71 | 74 | | Anuar Aziz | 81 | 78 | 73 | 71 | | Waeytens | 79 | 72 | 70 | 73 | | Zaini | 80 | 74 | 65 | 70 | | Reichenbach | 79 | 76 | 69 | 69 | | Barrio | 79 | 69 | 63 | 67 | | Vogt | 80 | 78 | 71 | 63 |
In a league of his own, any result other than a Hagen win will be considered an upset. He has been in superb form all through the season and will be looking to keep it going. His points are also supremely important for his team in their promotion chase, where they look good for the automatic promotion spots so far.
Defending champion, and two-time former winner, Froome is back to defend his crown. Together with Di Maggio, this duo form the next best punchers after Hagen in this race. They will need to be at their best to have any chance of beating the Norwegian.
The most well-rounded rider among the favourites happens to be Kinoshita. He did not have a very good start to the season but results have picked up in the past couple of months. He will be looking to continue in the same vain in this race.
Another former winner, Flugel is one of the contenders for the podium, together with Gautier and Betancourt. All three of them have similar climbing skills and could pull off an upset on a good day.
Anuar Aziz has had a couple of good results in similar races and will be another top 5 contender for sure. He could even push for a podium if he gets a head-start.
The other riders who could be in contention for this race are mentioned in the table above.

I sincerely hope this is the last ever race LLS leads.
Still an essential race for our promotion chances, if Di Maggio and/or Gautier have a good day it could be game over for us, so Hagen, Kinoshia, Froome and Flügel better bring their A-game, we're counting on you guys!
Thanks Abhishek (and Jandal) for the preview.

Last year I was posivitively surprised by Cerny following the big guys and Waeytens adding another top 10. This year, it can only go wrong.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Betancourt has been pretty bad in one-day classics but maybe an uphill finish is more suited to him.

Wow, quite a few CT teams here, including WCC. Will be interested to see how they do against those PCT stars.
Wishing good luck to our fellow Polish competitors, Fablok and Netia

The classic climber-lineup-for-a-hill-classic for us, and with this competition I don't expect points, only if a miraculous break stays clear or something

Seen from a points view no place for us, but on home soil close to our headquarters in Milano, we can not miss this race, very happy to get this wildcard.

Tough PCT puncheurs field here. Boily and R-G a bit behind the best, but still have hope of some decent positions/points. Quite a few other CT guys here too. EBH must be nailed on favourite for victory. Look forward to reading Abhi's report.

Crazy field strength but Juul Maar may still have something to say about the outcome. I can only hope.

Looking forward to this with equal amount of anticipation and trepidation as it is crucial for our chances of survival that Gautier delivers and I think this should be one of the hilly races more suited to him.

Can Kinoshita beat Hagen? Probably not, but a Top 3 is what we need here if we want to start making a push up the standings.

What? Milan sixth, Betancourt seventh? You're joking right?
...
I can't believe it! Finally he did something good!
Congrats Grieg on another Hagen victory, feel like I've said this too much. Also thanks to AbhishekLFC/jandal7 for the report!

This is pretty much what happened to me last year with Cerny and Waeytens, and it managed to keep me in the league. I hope the same works for you this year, although that probably means some bad news for me

Another show of lousy tactics by Gautier. Classic ride by him not getting with the first group and then using a lot of energy trying to bridge the gap resulting in him getting outsprinted in the end losing a good few positions.
Congrats to Grieg with another win and to Marco with PCT survival - I can't see Minions going down now!

I just love that guy. Great win yet again and still on schedule to getting 1500 points. Our support missing yet again, with our 78, 77 and 75 hill riders finishing outside top 125, but seems like EBH is just strong enough anyway.
Thanks for the congrats, guys!

Congrats tastasol and thanks Abhishek for a nice report! (Jandal too for posting )
Could've been a very dangerous race, though in the end we limited our losses to 14 and 6 points, so pretty happy with that, although LLS was once again a flop.
I roughly worked out the relegation battle, one spot between these 4 teams: (my numbers may not be 100% accurate)
Team | Points | RD | Netia | 1550 | 133 | MOL | 1448 | 129 | Ticos | 1374 | 126 | Valio | 1365 | 130 |
Spoiler Races Remaining:
MOL: Barbados Cycling Festival, Japan Cup, East Java
Netia: Giro dell'Emilia, Barbados Cycling Festival
Valio: Giro dell'Emilia, Barbados Cycling Festival, GP Kigali, Japan Cup
Ticos: Giro dell'Emilia, Japan Cup, Lisbon Classic, East Java + ? (They have 6 more RDs which I cannot figure out where they are)
I also even more quickly worked some of the other nearby teams, I didn't really have time to work them all out, so I just guessed which ones would be lowest, though I'm reasonably sure Carlsberg, Eritel, Kraftwerk and Leirse should all be considerably above these teams.
Either way, given their scores, I'm reasonably sure there won't be any other teams dragged down into the relegation fight this late, only Euskatel might be a very unlikely possibility.
Team | Points | RD | Novatek | 1793 | 130 | Minions | 1781 | 130 | Podium Ambition | 1735 | 121 | Euskatel | 1671 | 125 |
