That time of the year again. The first WT race of the season and the argue if this is the start of the season or if it`s just preperation until the cobbles. Pfft

The startlist is done and in less than 24h the inofficial criterium People`s Choice Classic is starting.

Canty to win if Cannondale actually gives him a chance alongside Clarke. Cool

Both are in awesome form so it should be great to see how they go together after Nationals.

Sorry, but The Rich Porden has the TDU in his bank.

I don't think Porte is the favourite for the win this year. He hasn't raced since his crash in Tour. I think McCarthy will win the race

No one has a prayer to beat him up willunga, the opposition's only shot is to rack up bonus seconds (mccarthy and haas can do this and will unfortunately present challenges).

He raced the nationals last week and seemed to have decent form, was probably hurt by BMC's poor tactics and the course being a little too easy for him, couldn't escape on Mount Buninyong and tried again in the final 2km but was doomed by Cam Meyer chasing.

A shame that Cycling Australia failed big time with it's promise to get a spot for more riders of the best Australian NRS team (Bennelong, former Isowhey, former Avanti) Sad Would have loved to see them racing here. Chris Harper did a great NC afterall...

Well.. looking forward to what the Aussies can do anyway.

I agree with this. Although what could be decisive is stage 4, not cause of it's hardness, but because it's a long and not-so-steep climb with rolling KMs in the end, it is favourable for an outsider to atack as the favourites will mark themselves and try to save as much energy as possible for the next day (Willunga)

I want to see how Porte, Dennis, Gerrans and Bevin will work together. If you sum up, you have 14 top 10, 6 wins and 12 stage wins with them.

What do you think about Gerrans?
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Gerrans didn't look so good in NC's (yes I know he was forced to work). I think the team will give him a shot in Stirling, if he doesn't win he is not gonna be a protected rider period. With Dennis and Porte (and possibly Bevin) above him he's gonna work, specially if Porte wants a hard race.

Racing in Down Under is a perfect start for Rui Costa's season of excuses. Blame the heat, but at least he tried and tomorrow is a new day.

Yeah...I agree...I am really curious how BMC will sort out they strategy. But for Gerrans there are definitely some stages which could suit him. However, he needs to be on form. But will he be able to get back to his best form at 37? We shall see

Gerrans should be playing a full support role for Porte this season. I'm pretty sure they have really similar schedules.
