Took some more time with some summer break around. But now the "almost" secured confirmation of division changes. A couple of teams are still on wait and hopefully can be confirmed very soon.
But for now a first overview of the division changes.
PCT > PT
Wiesenhof - Andritz
Porto - Prio
Hugo Boss
Strava
Team Telkom for Africa
Spotify - Haglöfs
VisitUkraine p/b Nemiroff
Ayubowan!
5 automatic promoted teams plus 3 more due to ending eras of Metinvest, Bpost and Bouygues.
CT > PCT
Ferrero - Samruk
Podium Ambition
Kraftwerk Man Machine
Chiquita - Universal
Carlsberg - Danske Bank
MOL - OMV Petrom
Isostar - Adriatic
Team Ticos Air Costa Rica
Top 5 due to ranking position. 3 more due to PT disbands.
Some teams in PT and PCT lost the fight and are relegating. Those are:
PT > PCT
Movistar - US Postal
Orange - KLM Cycling
Kenya Airways - Dimension Data
Grieg - Eftel
Red Bull - Huawei also was on bottom 5 but is also ending a long time era.
PCT > CT
Azteca - NBCSN
Aeropostal Venezuela Ciclismo
In-n-Out p/b Carrefour
SanCor
Vontobel also ending their sponsorship this year.
Some more teams in PCT and CT will come to an end: Those are Coldeportes, Ban na hEireann, Flores, New Balance, Spark, TVM, Elta, Hankook. Actually most of them ended already early in last years season.
In case 2-3 changes will still happen, an update will be posted.
For the moment this makes it 22 PT teams, 26 PCT and 15 CT teams and hence some room for new managers, that will be made public soon. |

Congrats to the promoting teams, Those in the top 5 in both cases knew their fate, but the uncertainty is now over for those moving up due to disbandments.
Shame to see some storied long-term MG team projects come to an end but life is tough in the sponsorship market .
Most importantly, great to see some real MG action on the board (as opposed to the occassional spam been experienced of late), and hence the impending return of MG activity!

Sad to see some of those teams disband, especially those that did it unexpectedly. I don't think anyone saw The Rider's disband coming a few months ago
Most of all I'm glad that I don't have to choose whether to stay in PCT or accept PT promotion thanks to the fact we're keeping the old system I had pros and cons for both decisions and it would have been a very tedious choice.

Same, I hope he's alright
Anyway, there goes the slim hope of undeserved PCT Congrats to the promoting teams in each division and bring on the new season

Certainly end of era-flair going on with big disbandments in the WT. It'll be a crazy free market once again. Gratz to all promoting teams. Especially Spotify who had enough bad luck and my mates over at Isostar. The relegated teams will strike back in force I'm sure and I'm really happy that Ian decided to continue & Sancor is just getting relegated instead of disbanded

Good, the team with 0 PT potential moves up definately now... This will interesting to dat the least. Good luck to all fellow promoted teams, and those who relegated; Just remember you may have much more luck and enjoyment next season with a lot more wins.

Hello PCT, hope it's not a one year trick. That frees up plenty of budget for a PCT Team Slovenia next year, great! A shame to see some of the teams going, but especially the disband of RedBull - Huawei and Flores bring us some interesting options. Farewell though to both, great managers going
PCT -> PT teams look amazingly promising, congrats especially to our mates at Strava! Also very well deserved for Ayubowan and Visit Ukraine to be up there!

I'm sorry, but I'm against adding new managers if they don't commit to at least two seasons. Developmental teams in CT would be better idea than having one season teams. That's my 5 cents

I don't see anything that these new managers are only here for 1 season? It's just the normal flow of managers leaving and being added that roturn refers to.

How can we know which managers will stay and which ones will leave?

It is discouraging for me and for any potential new managers to see teams that are there for 1 season and then they're gone. As a result I could reconsider my participation in the Man-Game.
@matt17br Easy - in the interviews with managers the new candidates would be asked the question "Would they commit for more than single season?" And based on the answers the comission would decide who will be admited..
In my previous posts I suggested that U23 developmental teams should be given CT status.

Obviously no manager would really say: Yes, I am here for just one season.
But without giving new managers a chance, we never know which would be great managers for several seasons and which don`t.
By not accepting new managers at all, we would slowly lose the numbers we have.
In a perfect scenario no manager would leave after one year only. Luckily most managers don`t and hence we have several managers here with 5+ seasons and most with 2+ already. |

Fool proof question
The Hobbit had the best application in the 2015 season, probably one of the best applications the MG had seen until that point, he got accepted from everyone and proceeded to leave the MG as soon as the off-season was done

Congratulations to the promoting teams and managers! For the Pro Tour, no doubts most teams promoting look to have a very solid base. Should make for an interesting transfer season, following their moves and activities.
And brilliant to see you back, roturn! |

Massive congrats to all those promoting this season. Some big teams going up and sadly some big names disappearing after many mg years between them.

It's really sad to see some of those managers go, but the confirmation of our promotion is a sight for sore eyes any day of the week.
