It`s only the 4th edition of this race but already having some kind of tradition in the CT peloton.
The previous winners are quite different.
Kashechkin in the debut was a veteran, Daspuntsag in 2014 was one of the weirdest races ever seeing him in a long solo break on day 3 already and after winning the stage not being able to be dropped enough in the end. Last year a young rider in Novak took the glory in which was alrady CT HC rated, which remains the same for 2016.
Also the route kept exactly the same and hence we might see from the 2015 outcome, which riders are going to like the race. Easily a stage racer with good skills on any uphill roads and against the clock.
Krasnoperov is the best climber here but this guy is not delivering. It should be known by now. Garby the next in the list and he is a superb CT climber. Though the allround skills are better with the next on the list and hence De la Cruz and Tvetcov must be the big favourites for the GC as also a bit further down Martinez. Those 3 will need to keep contact with Garby and then distance him in the TT/hills.
Though with a huge ride on the mountain stages any other rider here can surely jump into the group of potential winners.
| Mo | Hi | TT | | Mo | Hi | TT | Krasnoperov | 80 | 68 | 73 | Martinez | 76 | 72 | 73 | Garby | 79 | 70 | 68 | Rienda Segura | 76 | 68 | 56 | De la Cruz | 78 | 75 | 74 | Pozzo | 76 | 70 | 58 | Tvetcov | 77 | 75 | 74 | Nakane | 76 | 70 | 63 | Hacecký | 77 | 70 | 68 | Khripta | 76 | 75 | 65 | Hirschlein | 77 | 71 | 69 | De Marchi | 76 | 74 | 65 | Salinas | 77 | 73 | 71 | Kung | 76 | 76 | 66 | Lundberg | 76 | 71 | 64 | Nieve | 76 | 73 | 67 | Sarmiento | 76 | 66 | 54 | Ardila Cano | 76 | 70 | 69 |
The list of puncheurs is clashing a bit as Kung in especially but also some other stage racers are in the mix. Diggle on paper is the best and might look to grab a stage here.
| Mo | Hi | TT | | Mo | Hi | TT | Diggle | 65 | 77 | 70 | Khripta | 76 | 75 | 65 | Kung | 76 | 76 | 66 | Krizek | 74 | 75 | 66 | Rodriguez Galindo | 74 | 76 | 66 | Grivko | 73 | 75 | 73 | Zeits | 72 | 76 | 58 | Schurter | 72 | 75 | 61 | Nzeke | 72 | 76 | 61 | Lloyd | 72 | 75 | 63 | Efimkin | 69 | 76 | 64 | Haavardsholm | 69 | 75 | 62 | Othman | 68 | 76 | 56 | Ilias | 68 | 75 | 63 | Taborre | 67 | 76 | 62 | Kinney | 65 | 75 | 69 | Passalacqua | 63 | 76 | 58 | Chaoufi | 62 | 75 | 62 | De la Cruz | 78 | 75 | 74 | Chérel | 61 | 75 | 67 | Tvetcov | 77 | 75 | 74 | Bru | 58 | 75 | 54 |
The only TT is hilly and hence some of the time trialists at the start might be at the wrong place as the very best lack the climbing skills. Zoidl had some impressive TTs in the past and might be top favourite for that tage alongside De la Cruz, Tvetcov or Gonzalez Cortes.
Also the sprinters are far from the division`s best. Docker, Soupe, Van Hoff and Manarelli the fastest on paper. At least 2 of them use to underperform very often while others aren`t leading their teams in sprints very often.
Gavazzi or Geschke could take profit of the hillier sprints as some stages look rather difficult before the finish line.

This is big. It's a top 5 goal GC wise, but honestly, that's the bear minimum I will take. Garby needs to perform. We've brought the A-team train to support him. We pulled out all the stops. Now it has to get done. A top 3 would be enough, but I want a win. Garby hasn't won, and this is one of the only stage races without a flat TT and a tons of small hills to mess him up in this division. The TT will be an issue, but perhaps overcomeable for once. He's dominated on mountains before. It's time to put them together.
We have Docker here too, and somehow he's the best sprinter on the docket. He's pretty good on hills, so let's hope he can actually do something with his life here. It's really his last chance to prove anything given how much I spent for him.
This is a huge race. I'm excited, but nervous. One little thing could ruin the entire race for us. We've just gotta hope it doesn't happen. Promotion depends on it.

Last race for Martinez and I hope he can end the season with a bang. The hilly TT should be suited to his abilities, as should Barton's. Two flat rated stages for Manarelli but they're not flat at all, so no guarantees there.
An important race to decide whether we can look up towards the podium or down to defend a top 5.

Hoping De la Cruz can at least come away with a stage win and a top 3 finish overall, we could do with the points.

I'd like to think this is a good chance for Kasperkiewicz (I gotta come up with a nickname for him. that name is too long ) To steal a stage through a break, but I fear De la Cruz will block him, so I'll just hope for some good domestique work and a win for the team possibly?
Thanks for the preview Roturn!

Like most other top 15 teams on attendance an absolutely YUGE race for us here. Shame we didn't bring Clarkey in a weak sprint field but hills and mountains start lists means anything under top 5 GC and a stage is dissapointing for us. Hope for another Jams performance on one of the non-summit or TT stage, were it not for him not being good enough in the mountains could even hope for a Daountatag esque display, a la Bongo

Surely Zoidl must be the favourite for the TT, I'd expect him to get us a stage win there.
Hopefully the first Mountain stage won't be too selective/ cause too many time gaps so he can still get a good GC place after the TT and defend/ improve it through the hills.
I'm surprised the Sprint field is so weak but it gives Manan a chance if we aren't trying to create a train for him as we don't have anyone that would form a good leadout here.

I think we have a really good chance of at least a stage win here. Torckler's already done the business once at La Tropicale- not to mention his 3rd on GC- Haavardsholm has been superb so far this season, and Reijnen was 4th in Denmark.
Not to mention Jim's victory in TOME.

Looking forward to this outing - is a very intersting mix of stages. Given how difficult the two 'flat' stages looked, GRM sacrificed bringing a sprint option, and instead have riders for the breakaway and a host of riders who can challenge for lower GC positions. We don't have the quality all-round stage-racer to challenge for victory, but Kagrobek and Moreno are decent stage racers who should target 10-15th, Ardila Cano likes the high mountains and Rodriguez Galindo may well surprise here on multiple stages. The length of the TT hurts our chances, but the Goodnews is that Clifford returns from a period of hibernation to lead the breakaway attempts. Oh, we should also mention the debut of Colombian stagiare Diego Ochoa - welcome to the WCC family!

Hoping to get a stage or 2 with Von Hoff and Flens here for the Sprints and TT's. Tarik could get a good result in the hilly stages but not expecting anything big GC wise.

We're getting so close to the 10 Stage Wins goal now, i can feel it! And for a throaway XP race with a 6 rider squad i'm now perfectly happy. Souper Soupe showing he's still a good sprint in his own right, making a strong case for some off-season training.

First stage proves semi-tough, but most of the sprinters held on (which surprised me). Re-load for stage 2 with WCC looking for a prescence in the early break as well as when the road heads towards the heavens - was surprised not to see the jersey in stage 1 BotD, but fingers crossed.
Podium Ambition sprint win almost predetemined, hoovered up so many stages this season - congrats.

PCM is so predictable when it concerns who goes in a break, I swear it's literally always the same riders in CT

Well Docker disappoints, but that's not new. Podium Ambition on the other hand seem to win with any sprinter they throw out there. Congrats to them.
The important thing is that Garby is in good position right now. Tomorrow is very crucial!

I come here with a terrible team, and this could really affect my promotion chances... No real stand out rider, so banking on breakaways and attacks to make any impact.
Thanks for the preview Roturn

Commented above without seeing that stage 1 was up... I think it perfectly reflects how poor my team is! All but one rider losing time is not good, but let's hope it can open up a KoM battle from breakaways
