It's time to open the Race Discussion thread. As you may have seen, the January preview is already up in the Previews thread. I'll post the first results of Palm Classic and Copa America, but could need reporters for the rest of the January races. If you have time to do some races, PM me and I'll send you the link to the reporters folder. |

I have raced the first two one day races and will posts the results tomorrow in the morning. I noticed one issue for Reizen Waes somehow the helmet doesn't work so they ride without anything on their head. However in the database they have the same equipment companies assigned as Filliers, for who the helmets work. Does anyone who has some experience with database editing know what the issue could be? |

Could be that only a model is faulty out of the helmet's brand models, and Reizen got the buggy one while Filliers a correct one. Not sure tho.

I have now posted the first two results of the season. I haven't installed a video software on my rather new PC yet, so I have now video. To compensate for that I have made some more screenshots at palm classic, making a for ICL unusually more detailed report.
You can read that in the spoiler:
Spoiler
The season has been kicked off
Namibian champ Craven opens a reign of attacks
Krigbaum - Janse van Rensburg - Lavery
The sprinters team having everything under control
Boonen attacking with 30 kilometres to go
Breschel trying soon after Boonen was reeled in
Bouvry and Durbridge closing the gap to the Dane
It was never going to be successful with the two German teams and Saeco working behind, 4.5 kilometres to go: Greipel and Cavendish perfectly positioned with their train, Kittel and Demare only around the corner at this moment, Bouhanni, Alaphillippe, Fenn, Nizzolo, Blythe, Nizzolo, Guardini, Van Poppel the other 78+ sprinters ahead of Kittel
3 kilometres: Center: Cavendish's train with Bouhanni on the wheel; Right: Fenn, Selig, Alaphilippe on Greipel's wheel. Kittel's train following a little behind; Left: Van Poppel, Nizzolo, Demare, Viviani on Guardini's wheel
2 kilometres: Saeco is going strong, Kittel is still far behind after his accelerating train was boxed in
Flamme Rouge: Guardini, Greipel, Fenn, Van Poppel, Cavendish
Still not as detailed as in the MG, but it will help understanding what happened in a race. I plan to do these kinds of posts more often this season especially for oneday races and important stages. The result will be in the results thread as always.
Also the prefinish pictures of Copa America:
Spoiler
Browne - Martin - Mwanga - Calo - De Bruyn - Cervantes - Gochashvili - Jansen - Pichler - Padrón - Murray - Grossi - Biró
Alemayo
Vanbutsel without helmet
I won't be there until Sunday late, so other reporters will do the next few races. |

Lol @ both races. Padron in 10th from the break is a very pleasant surprise.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Well done dev team. You suck, and send no guy in the break. Good tactics.

Massive win for smowz to kick off the season, not just a sprint victory but the break of CSC auto-win who messed up their train. Olympic Champ Demare and the Gorilla with a solid result but this was the chance to win Palm Classic for good.

fantastic work from Martin, and good work from Alaphilippe to kick off the season...hoped for an attack by Vanmarcke but Breschel trying is nice too!

Best rider finish - 42nd for Sinkeldam. Welcome to the World Tour boys
Don't get me wrong, we had no chance of getting a top 10 finish with Theo Bos - but 56th in a sprint classic is absolutely horrible. Teklehaimanot even finished ahead of him!
An interesting month ahead with Slagter trying to defend his title in Gabon, although Moreira is the only real help we could afford to give him. I've got high hopes for Mollema in Toowoomba since we sent a strong TT squad with our best all-round helpers for any situation, but it will be a big waste of race days if he can't return to the podium.
Some added interest for me in the other CT races this season, with ICBC and Heineken active in most of the minor races. Maybe a surprise victory or two for them?

I'm as shocked about this as you are!!
A day in the break and some TV is fine with me on our debut in the ICL. No hopes for the sprint given the strength of the teams here, so this was the best I could hope for

The Namibian champ on the attack! Already a good season!
Some nice efforts from Boonen, not many points, but a decent enough classic to start the season.
Korup looking good, but if they can't reel in the break on flat stages then they are only finishing bottom of the rankings.
It has begun! |

Yay, we started! Van Poppel still needs to realise this it seems, as he fell asleep while he was on the best wheel, but..
What a fantastic performance from the Dev Team, 1st and 4th from 2 riders that were not counted amongst the favorites.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I am really astounded by how bad my team was, so I choose to lol and go on with my life rant-free. There will be time for those.

Bouhanni fifth in his first race for us, given the strong field I'm quite satisfied.

Great start by Murray for Centrica. 6th in a flat race is a nice surprise to start the season off.
23rd at the Palm Classic is better than I ever expected, especially from Stannard. Good to see us in the breakaway too.

I have a similar but greater problem. I started Indonesia and everything worked fine except almost every team has no helmets. Any ideas?
Otherwise, I'll have to wait until Bikex gets back to start racing or just start regardless. Worst case scenario is just some strange screenshots of loads of men with black holes for heads .
