.: Pedal Africa :.
2016 Continental Tour Team

Welcome to the HQ for Pedal Africa, the first all-African team to ride in the ICL. Taking on the continent's best, and targeting future prospects and talents over the coming years, our aim is to take the riders to the next level.

We will only have African riders as part of the team, and the sponsors involved with the team will also take that form as well.

Saeco had a solid first year in the Protour - the repackaged team with star stage racers Roman Kreuziger and Simon Spilak along with Italian star sprinters Giacomo Nizzolo and Andrea Guardini. Spilak and Kreuziger have been retained into 2017, whilst Guardini continues to lead as sprinter.

c8.alamy.com/comp/FEXBJJ/czech-roman-kreuziger-c-rafaa-chtioui-l-of-tunesia-and-simon-spilak-FEXBJJ.jpg

Nizzolo was transferred out as Saeco looked to continue to push down the average age of the sqaud and focus more and more on providing the next generation of Italian stars. However fast men Pelucchi and Van Poppel were drafted in to maintain a decent secondary sprinter stock along with Cimolai.

Puccio, De Marchi, Trentin and new recruit Felline are also all good potential points scorers. With the ever faithful Locatelli, Brambilla, Delle Stelle and Stortini providing important domestique duty. Meanwhile young sprinter Marolt and Irish chrono expert Ryan Mullen have stepped up a level

U23 team - Fiat also solid after first year

Fiat is the feeder squad for Saeco and also saw the brand expand its sphere of influences into Slovenia and into Africa. This remained the case in 2017 with chrono man Taschin, Slovenian climber Kumer and Eritrean cobbled star Habtu leading the way.

Suntory Lucozade Sport

Welcome to the Headquarters of Suntory Lucozade Sport Pro Tour Cycling Team and Suntory Orangina Development Team for the PCM Daily ICL Story Game for 2017 season.

Team History
2015 Eurosport Pepsi - CT 1st
2016 Eurosport Pepsi - PT 10th Eurosport Pepsi 2016

New for 2017 sponsors Suntory are a Japanese brewing and distilling company group. Established in 1899, it is one of the oldest companies in the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Japan, and makes Japanese whisky. Its business has expanded into soft drinks owning Lucozade, Orangina and Ribena. Suntory is headquartered in Osaka.

We are very lucky to have our new shirt designed by the great graphic artist Bikex Smile

I am sure you will agree its a beauty.

Final Squad

The squad has been built to be fairly balanced.

Climbers

Romain Bardet is a pure climber, he will be avoiding stage races with lots of TT kms.
Jérôme Coppel has good TT but is a bit suspect on hills so we need to be careful to choose the right profiles for him.
These two will be helped by Lachlan Morton and Clément Chevrier.

Sprinters

World Class fast man Mark Cavendish will have fellow Brit Adam Blythe to lead him out to get the team some WT wins.

As well as helping Cav, Aussie champion Michael Matthews will contest hill sprints.

Time Trial

Tom Dumoulin will be competitive in the race of truth and Michael Hepburn with Jan Barta will help with any TTT. The team have improved a fair bit this year.

Cobbles

Jens Keukeleire is our lone cobbler so not expecting much at all from the pave although new boy Mads Pedersen might develop in the future.

TVM Cycling Team HQ

That's right everyone - we're back!

TVM Cycling Team is proud to announce that after two years on the Continental circuit, we have taken the leap and will compete in the ICL World Tour in 2017! After a tumultuous year which contained many ups and downs, we now look ahead as the team prepares to traverse new ground.

2016 in Review

In a year that promised so much for the young team, at first there was little reason to celebrate in our all-new green and yellow kit. Following a shaky first half of the season, the team's future was uncertain with major sponsors undecided as to whether they would continue to fund the fledgling team for a second year.

Simply put, changes needed to be made. In a shock move, management decided to sack inaugural directeur sportif Tristan Hoffman mid-season. It was a tough and fairly controversial move which was met with disdain by many in the industry, but under new management the team appeared refreshed and we soon rediscovered our winning ways. TVM Cycling Team had soon recovered ground on our CT rivals to finish in a respectable position, just outside the automatic promotion positions.

Following the disbanding and relegation of several more highly rated teams, we were narrowly voted by our peers to join the World Tour at season's end. This is a chance which everyone involved with the team could not be happier to embrace as we march on into the 2017 season.

Team News

With the team advancing to the highest level of competition, we will obviously be launching a big off-season campaign to bolster our squad in the hopes of maintaining our spot in the World Tour by the end of next season. To assist with our goal, bike sponsors Giant have agreed to kick in some extra money to finance our team, part of which will be spent on developing riders from Taiwan to join our squad

But first and foremost, we are delighted to announce that six of our riders have already agreed to contract extensions with the team.

Brent Bookwalter
Jasper Bovenhuis
Elmar Reinders
Ramon Sinkeldam
Nick van der Lijke
Jos van Emden

We have full confidence that these men will continue to ride bravely and strongly within our team structure and will no doubt be essential core components of our debut World Tour season.

Sadly, it is inevitable that some of our riders will not remain with us for the 2017 season. Whilst we are still in contract talks with all riders, Boy van Poppel has expressed that he will be seeking a transfer to join his younger brother Danny at the Filliers - Mora team, as he sees his role in our team diminishing in years to come.

Young Koen Bekker is still deciding if he wishes to pursue a full-time career in cycling after a punishing debut year, whilst veterans Pieter Weening and Stef Clement are both nearing the end of their time in the professional peloton. We will continue to bring you more news as it comes.

Lufthansa IN Racing - Team HQ

Welcome to the Team HQ of Lufthansa IN Racing. We will ride in the Continental Tour of the ICL this season. We are starting from scratch, so we are trying very hard to get a strong foundation for the team. Despite this being our debut season, we would not be happy just making up the numbers in the peloton. We want to compete for stage and race wins.

Team Sponsors - Lufthansa

i.imgur.com/nQNfIFF.jpg

The Lufthansa Group is a global aviation group with a total of 540 subsidiaries and equity investments, which in the financial year 2015 were organised into the Passenger Airline Group, Logistics, MRO, Catering and Other business segments.

Lufthansa have been associated with German sports for a very long time. They are the official Co-Partner of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Co-Sponsor of the German Paralympic Sports Confederation. They are also the official partner of the German Football Associsation. They also provide support to almost 3800 top athletes as partners of the German Sports Aid Foundation. With such a distinct pedigree in their association with sports, it did not take us long to narrow down on them as sponsors. They were keen to invest in Cycling too.

Other Sponsors

Associate Sponsors: Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Swiss International Airlines (all part of the Lufthansa Group)
Secondary Sponsors: Deutsche Bahn (or DB) (German railway company) and Siemens
Equipment Sponsor: Focus Frames, Shimano Wheels
Jersey Sponsor: Craft
Spoiler
Being the first ever Team Director from India, our ultimate aim is to promote the sport of cycling in my native land. We would like to play a similar role to what Force India have done in the world of Formula 1 in terms of popularity and providing a team to support. That, we believe, would be a good start to encourage more kids to take up professional cycling in India. We wish to tie up with Jet Airways, an Indian partner airlines of Lufthansa, in the near future.

Free Agent and Transfers Round 1
Spoiler
Lufthansa secured the signing of Matthias Frank from the Sevilla Cycling Team as part of pre-transfer window negotiations. Frank will always have the distinction of being our first ever rider under contract.

FA Round 1 saw us making five more signings, all of whom are leaders in different disciplines. The Free Agent captures of Porte, Boom and Atapuma was consolidated by successful negotiations to bring in Lobato and Monfort.

Free Agent and Transfers Round 2
Spoiler
In Round 2, we concentrated on two aspects; getting in riders who would be the work-horses on the team and getting in a handful of young riders from our focus areas.

Two known names we welcomed were Phil Bauhaus and Julien Vermote. Bauhaus is our second sprinter and will act as the principle lead-out for Lobato in major races. He will be free to go after his personal goals in other races. Vermote was brought in to strengthen our TT department and as someone who can set the pace on the flats.

We dipped in the Transfer Market to add some strength to our climbing team. Joining us as part of trades and otherwise is Cesar Paredes and Jeroen Meijers. They are the final pieces to our mountain train puzzle.

Free Agent Round 3
Spoiler
We were able to sign our first-choice youngsters in this round of the Free Agency. The team is complete.

Enel Pro Cycling

Welcome to this new project!

Enel Pro Cycling is a new team, who will ride on a Continental niveau this year. This year will be an exploration year, but that doesn't mean that we will take it easy! In fact, I think that we could win some stages (or races) this season!

SPONSORS

[img-r]https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/logopedia/images/1/11/Logo-enel-2016-160126184114_medium.jpg[/img-r]
Our main sponsor and also the reason to this project is alive is Enel. Enel is an Italian multinational manufacturer and distributor of electricity and gas. They produces and sells electricity and gas across Europe, North and Latin America. Enel has also been a supporter of green energy, and they have therefore an other company called Enel Green Power.

Specialized World Cycling

Introduction

It is with great pleasure that we launch the continuation of the Specialized - Playstation team into the 2017 season. Sony has moved away from title sponsorship, and the team will now be known as Specialized World Cycling. This year the team will have a much more international focus, with the prospect in mind of having riders from every continent.

Specialized has stepped up this year as the primary sponsor, and will be helping us out for most of the monetary necessities. They will also provide bikes (with in-house components, for example Roval wheels), clothes, shoes, helmets and accessories. The Specialized brand brought us to four special victories on the road last year, including one team and mountain classification win apiece. This year the team is hoping to take things to another level, and the squad, while maintaining many of its core members, will have a lot of firepower added onto it.

Shimano and Adidas continue their sponsorship tenure, with the same provisions as last year. We also have renewed sponsorship with CIBC and have started a new partnership with the Qhubeka foundation.
