Novatek sprung to life in May with Kuznetsov winning in Frankfurt, and Serebriakov sprinting well. Tour of Scotland turned out to be a key race with In-n-out and Strava going well there, plus of course, Sodexo's maiden victory.
May Standings:
1 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 340 | 2 | | Gatorade - SIS | 218 | 3 | | Actavis - DKSH | 175 | 4 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 164 | 5 | | Strava | 157 |
Back to back wins for Strava in Lincoln and Iceland made them the top scorers in June, more deserved than Akzonobel who fluked a C1 win in Norway. A strong Capo and two classic wins kept Generali ticking over, while Carlsberg too had some decent scores across the month.
June scores:
1 | | Strava | 411 | 2 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 287 | 3 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 267 | 4 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 264 | 5 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 257 |
Strava are starting to run away with it at the top of the table as they have opened up a lead of nearly 250 points. It is so much closer behind with 15 between the next 3 teams. Novatek make a huge leap up to 2nd from 15th, with Compal and Indosat slipping down.
Generali move into the promotion spots, while Fablok and In-n-out also made gains. SanCor amongst the biggest fallers, down to 11th from 4th. Lierse also heading in the wrong direction. There's not a lot of significant position changes in the rest of the table. Sodexo are up 3 and away from bottom, at the expense of Team Type 1.
1 | 3 | | Strava | 1132 | 2 | 15 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 891 | 3 | 1 | | Compal-Merida | 884 | 4 | 2 | | Indosat - ANZ | 876 | 5 | 7 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 822 | 6 | 9 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 802 | 7 | 11 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 702 | 8 | 8 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 699 | 9 | 5 | | Alpina - Avianca | 691 | 10 | 6 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 683 | 11 | 4 | | SanCor Cycling Team | 677 | 12 | 12 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 658 | 13 | 13 | | Severstal-Mercator | 657 | 14 | 10 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 596 | 15 | 16 | | Verkefnid Iceland | 548 | 16 | 24 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 513 | 17 | 14 | | Actavis - DKSH | 499 | 18 | 19 | | Gatorade - SIS | 474 | 19 | 21 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 461 | 20 | 18 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 389 | 21 | 17 | | Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions | 317 | 22 | 20 | | Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling | 294 | 23 | 26 | | Sodexo ProCycling | 284 | 24 | 22 | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 279 | 25 | 23 | | Fred Whitton Race Team | 274 | 26 | 25 | | Team Type 1 | 154 |
Strava are not only leading, but they are scoring more per race day than anyone else, and are clear title favourites right now. The Top 5 as it stands are also the Top 5 on PPrD and all down the table positions barely differ. Delaval are better off by 3, 7th rather than the 10th - swapping with In-n-out.
| | | Team | Total | RD | PpRD | Proj | 1 | 1 | | Strava | 1132 | 74 | 15.30 | 2142 | 2 | 2 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 891 | 74 | 12.04 | 1686 | 3 | 3 | | Compal-Merida | 884 | 74 | 11.95 | 1673 | 4 | 5 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 822 | 71 | 11.58 | 1621 | 5 | 4 | | Indosat - ANZ | 876 | 76 | 11.53 | 1614 | 6 | 6 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 802 | 74 | 10.84 | 1518 | 7 | 10 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 683 | 63 | 10.84 | 1518 | 8 | 8 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 699 | 74 | 9.45 | 1323 | 9 | 9 | | Alpina - Avianca | 691 | 77 | 8.97 | 1256 | 10 | 7 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 702 | 79 | 8.89 | 1245 | 11 | 12 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 658 | 78 | 8.44 | 1182 | 12 | 13 | | Severstal-Mercator | 657 | 79 | 8.32 | 1165 | 13 | 11 | | SanCor Cycling Team | 677 | 82 | 8.26 | 1156 | 14 | 14 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 596 | 77 | 7.74 | 1084 | 15 | 17 | | Actavis - DKSH | 499 | 70 | 7.13 | 998 | 16 | 15 | | Verkefnid Iceland | 548 | 84 | 6.52 | 913 | 17 | 19 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 461 | 73 | 6.32 | 885 | 18 | 18 | | Gatorade - SIS | 474 | 79 | 6.00 | 840 | 19 | 16 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 513 | 88 | 5.83 | 816 | 20 | 21 | | Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions | 317 | 61 | 5.20 | 728 | 21 | 20 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 389 | 79 | 4.92 | 689 | 22 | 22 | | Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling | 294 | 79 | 3.72 | 521 | 23 | 23 | | Sodexo ProCycling | 284 | 77 | 3.69 | 517 | 24 | 24 | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 279 | 76 | 3.67 | 514 | 25 | 25 | | Fred Whitton Race Team | 274 | 82 | 3.34 | 468 | 26 | 26 | | Team Type 1 | 154 | 61 | 2.52 | 353 |
The sprinters are on the move recently, and Anthony Lavoine is the new individual rankings leader, dashing past previous leader Richeze. Serebriakov also into the Top 5 now, while teammate Rabon has also risen up. Strava's lead is emphasised by Langeveld going up to 4th, and Tennant surging to 11th.

Hmmm, not as bad as I thought. I'm content with mid table this year. We did well in a big month and De Maar is still up there in the individual rankings. I'm glad we didn't slide anymore.
I'm satisfied.

Still 8th, with our best chances coming, we really need Zeits to take Polonge though.
But why did we only score 25 points in May, Der did win the Giro del Capo.
Thanks SN for the update

Holy moly, that's way more points than I had expected.. very very happy, June was just great for us. Obviously the CT win is now the big goal of the season for us.
Thanks for the update!

Well, this pretty much sums up what we've been doing the last few months. Terrible, just terrible.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Hmmm disappointed to be really honest...
I thought that after a strong Capo, a win at Herning and especially an awesome 1-3 at that African TT we would have been higher now. Yet, seeing that Compal anf Indosat are losing it I am happy to see that we sre definitely up and running for a podium in the CT. Delaval surprisingly low bur they will climb the ranking sooner or later. Strava terrifyingly good thanks to some outstanding team work showings, turns out that I was wrong projecting them outside of the top ten
Biggest surprise is Novatek for sure. With - quite - some luck and a strong sprinting and hilly team they look strong for promotion to say the least now.
Thanks for the detailed update SN!

Exactly what I thought. With our most important races still to come and out mid-season of unfavourable races coming to an end, I'm happy with 4th. Of course add in Capo and Poland and that may change things a little, but it'll be hard for the classics teams to score many points in the coming stage races. We need to capitalise on our strengths and get some results. Also nice to see Novatek improve so much.
Thanks SN.

Major drop expected, but still hurts a lot. We need to setp up in the next months and at least win something, so that we don't go down in the history book which didn't win anything this season...
Thanks SN for the update

Strava seems to be running away with the title. Pretty close behind them though, many teams fighting for positions

A couple of bad months with a general lack of effort from the team reflecting in the projected rankings. Hopefully they'll soon pull their shit together and start acting like they care.
Thanks for the update.

I expected to climb quite a bit in the rankings, but not all the way to this Not too many cobbled races left where Strava can gain, so hopefully the Rabon/Serebriakov combo should gain on them in the final part of the season. Maybe winning the overall is still possible then

The rankings really are coming together now. Strava the big surprise, top cobblers being some of the most reliable scorers this season - big contrast to last season there.
Spoiler
1 | Compal - Merida | -1 | 2 | DeLaval – Kiitokori | -8 | 3 | Netia – Norske Skog | -5 | 4 | Indosat – ANZ | | 5 | Alpina – Avianca | -4 | -- | | | 6 | Generali – Kronenberg 1664 | +1 | 7 | Severstal – Mercator | -6 | 8 | Strava | +7 | 9 | Fablok – Dunlop | +3 | 10 | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered by Carrefour | +3 | 11 | Novatek – Panarmenian.net | +9 | 12 | Actavis – DKSH | -2 | 13 | SanCor Cycling Team | +2 | 14 | OTP Bank – Slovnaft | -5 | 15 | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | -5 | 16 | Akzonobel – Statoil | | 17 | Fred Whitton Race Team | -9 | 18 | Gatorade – SIS | | 19 | Chiquita – Universal p/b Minions | -2 | 20 | Team Carlsberg – Danske Bank | +7 | 21 | Elta – Hellenic Post | -3 | 22 | Verkefnid Iceland | +7 | 23 | Lierse SK – Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | +9 | 24 | Sodexo ProCycling | +1 | 25 | Team Type 1 | -1 | 26 | Fox Sports – Golomt Cycling | +4 | |
^ My original predictions are in the spoiler - with current positions related against them. Fred Whitton Race Team and Novatek – Panarmenian.net will probably end up being the ones where I was well, well, out with.
The bottom five teams starting to get cut adrift a wee bit, they need to rally if they want to miss out on the dirt. |
