Welcome to Namibia, Africa for the ultimate test for the time trial specialists in the Continental Tour. This single time trial over 40 kilometres will feature the big names from the CT, in a race testing their pure skill and not their recuperation, making it a very fair fight. The teams present, in alphabetical order, based on their shortened names are listed in the table below with the riders that will represent them. Their TT stat is given.
Team ASDA-Savers | | Ian Stannard | 79 | | Russell Hampton | 72 | | Matthew Brammeier | 71 | | | | | Dell - 361° Racing | | Freddy Cruz | 76 | | Saul Raisin | 73 | | Craig Lewis | 71 | | | | | Evonik - Signal Iduna | | Gert Goeaar | 75 | | Lasse Norman Hansen | 72 | | Willi Willwohl | 56 | | | | | Fletcher - Garneau | | Rory Sutherland | 75 | | Hayden Roulston | 74 | | Sam Horgan | 74 | | | | | Team Kenya Airways | | Lotto Petrus | 74 | | Riadh Ghdamsi | 73 | | Merhawi Kudus | 64 | | | | | Team Live Nation | | Viktor Renäng | 76 | | Mateusz Taciak | 73 | | Jussi Veikkanen | 72 | | | | | Risa - Ergon | | Johan Lindgren | 75 | | Rasmus Sterebo | 74 | | Ken Sebastian Vassdal | 74 | | | | | Siam Cement - Lenovo | | Masatoshi Oba | 74 | | Mark Galedo | 72 | | Phucong Sai-Udomsin | 70 | | | | | Eddie Stobart Pro Cycling | | Ed Clancy | 73 | | Cameron Wurf | 71 | | Owain Doull | 68 | | | | | Team TomTom | | Michiel Elijzen | 77 | | Cornelius van Ooijen | 72 | | Indulis Bekmanis | 68 | | | | | Team Vontobel | | Michael Schär | 76 | | Claudio Imhof | 74 | | Reto Hollenstein | 73 | |
So we can safely say Elijzen and Stannard will be the main favourites followed by a huge group of riders hoping to achieve some result here. The only regional team here is Kenya Airways, who do not have a real star due to limitations for Procontinental Teams, but for sure the crowds will cheer for them.
*Note from my side: Sorry for delaying the game. 2 Teams didn't send proper lists causing them to have 7 riders in this race. I had no clue what to do with this, but SN has given me the green light to remove the weakests TT-ists. Just to avoid having any mistakes here I will not play the race before tomorrow, so the managers in question have the chance to correct me if I removed a rider who shouldn't be. You can expect the results Thursday if everything goes right

Really hope that Renäng can (finally) put in a proper TT...

Ahh. Bring it on!
Big day for Elijzen, but it won't be easy to beat Stannard here. Wish it was a tiny bit more hilly

Go Willi!!!!
Curious to see where Joeaar ends up. Just like Jesleyh, I would have liked a few more hills but with a good day he can get a good result, too.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Michael Schär will try his best get into the mix. While everybody is talking about Stannard and Elijzen he could be the surprise winner... okay, a podium will be great, too.

If someone else than Stannard or Elijsen wins this (most likely Stannard)...

Not much of a chance here, but not due to restrictions... Petrus is my best time-triallist
As long as we get a few Africa Tour points I'll be happy enough with the result. Should be Stannard's, unless that final hill hampers him. |

Small update: My PCM crashed when I almost finished racing... I'll re-run the race now but won't have time to start writing the report, so unless I have some time to do so at work tomorrow you can't really expect the report before Friday...
I usually do have an aweful lot of spare time at work tho

A TTT here would be interesting.. Obviously, we won't win here, but I hope that they all can get inside the top 10. Looking forward to the report, fjhoekie

Exciting!
Nice to see a small startlist for once, but it ain't gonna be easy. I'd say podium is more than enough for me.

Well, enjoy my first TT report. I missed an overview at checkpoint 1, but still I'm quite satisfied about the report.
Will take any tips given tho

Nice victory for Stannard, he is really justifying that 200k price tag

A bit disappointed with Renäng on 9th, but 4-10 was very close so anything could really have happend on those positions.
Overall I didn't expect the race to be so close actually with the entire top 10 within a minute and 28 riders within 2 minutes!

Thanks for the exciting report, fjhoekie! Was a nice way to represent a TT.
Results should have been better, only Reto Hollenstein was able to show a top performance.
